Two people walked out of the train station hand in hand, got into a taxi intimately, and sped away.
In the extended Lincoln limousine in the distance, the assistant looked at his boss with confusion, and asked, "Sir, do you suspect Miss Lu's identity?"
He had already found out that Miss Lu was not from a cultivation family, but an ordinary country girl. Her life trajectory for the past 20 years showed nothing special.
Yet, such an ordinary person possessed such combat power.
Therefore, they all suspected her identity was fake, and what they had found was merely what she wanted them to see.
Fu Hongyu came back to his senses, feeling inexplicably downcast. "No, let's go."
The assistant was bewildered.
If he didn't suspect her identity, why did he wait for her to leave first?
The driver was the quietest. Hearing his words, he silently started the car and left the train station.
Lu Chongyan had bought a hard seat ticket. After more than ten hours on the train without rest, he felt relieved when he saw Zhu Jian. He fell asleep soon after getting into the taxi.
Zhu Jian looked at his peaceful sleeping face, feeling very happy.
In this world, he had changed again.
The original host was such a proud person, and for her to like Lu Chongyan, it meant his physical appearance was excellent. He was over 185 cm tall, with healthy-looking wheat-colored skin. His face was free of acne scars that many people his age had. He was clean and handsome, with features that were a perfect blend of ruggedness and refinement.
His demeanor was not roguish, but rather that of a sunny and optimistic young man, combined with the adaptability and ingratiation gained from years of struggling in society, making him a very likable person.
Yet, such a person, after the original host had seen those arrogant and domineering rich second-generation heirs, became weak and incompetent, deserving to be discarded like worn-out shoes.
The original host's final fate could only be described as deserved!
Nearly an hour later, they returned to the city. The driver dropped them off at the hotel entrance, and Zhu Jian woke him up.
"We're here. You can sleep more upstairs."
Lu Chongyan, groggy, was led by her out of the car. When they reached the hotel, he finally sobered up and asked in surprise, "What are we doing here?"
"Staying," Zhu Jian replied matter-of-factly. "Where else would you stay?"
Lu Chongyan stopped, pulling her hand, and said with some difficulty, "I can just find a small inn to stay in. This place is very expensive."
So, he was worried about money.
Zhu Jian had just received 5 million, so she had no concept of money.
"It's okay, I have it. I picked you up at the station today and took on a job, earning a sum of money. It's enough. Besides, I already booked the room, and we'll lose money if we cancel now. Let's go in."
Lu Chongyan had no choice but to go in.
Zhu Jian presented her ID to confirm her room booking and got the key card from the front desk, then led him upstairs.
Lu Chongyan didn't bring much luggage. To be precise, he didn't have much luggage at all. A large bag contained some clothes and daily necessities. A few worn-out clothes and pants, a toothbrush, a face towel, and so on, he brought himself.
His adoptive father had a leg injury and couldn't work, and his adoptive mother was in poor health. Both needed regular medication and check-ups. The money Lu Chongyan earned could barely cover the family's living expenses, so Lu Chongyan usually kept these items for a long time, taking them with him when he moved to save money.
Looking at the exquisitely decorated hotel room, he started to feel uneasy again. "A room like this must cost a lot, Ah Jian. How about we cancel it, and I..."
Zhu Jian pressed him against the wall, wanting to kiss his incessantly chattering mouth shut. She then subconsciously considered that the original host had never had such intimate behavior with him, and then she kissed him.
Lu Chongyan was startled by her passion and didn't react at all.
After a while, she pulled away. "You don't want to sleep anymore?"
Lu Chongyan, flushed from the kiss, heard the word "sleep" and couldn't help but think in a less innocent direction. His face turned even redder.
"Go wash up, then sleep. After sleeping well, we'll go out for a meal. Don't worry about money. If you mention it again, I'll sell you off to pay the debt."
Lu Chongyan: "..."
He was stunned for a moment, then asked her with a smile, "Would you be willing?"
Zhu Jian thought carefully. "I really wouldn't be willing. After all, you wouldn't fetch much money, so it's better if I keep you myself. Go take a shower quickly, then rest. Look, your eyes can barely stay open."
Lu Chongyan's eyes were indeed heavy. He had been on a hard-seat train for over ten hours and hadn't slept at all. Even a person made of iron would be tired.
At her urging, he went to the bathroom to take a shower. He came out wearing his old clothes. Zhu Jian frowned. "Don't you have a bath towel?"
Lu Chongyan blushed. "I'm not used to it."
No benefits, Zhu Jian was unhappy.
But it was okay. They were a legitimate couple, and there would be a day when she could have her way.
"I give up on you. Go to sleep quickly. I bought you some things a couple of days ago, they're in the dorm. I'll go get them. Don't wander around."
Lu Chongyan chuckled, his heart filled with joy.
"Okay."
