Zhuo Ni had no idea she was being watched. She had returned to school and was sorting through the things she had bought that day.
"Did you rob the supermarket? You bought so much," Zhang Yi asked, looking at her bags.
Zhuo Ni smiled. "No, I didn't. I actually encountered someone being robbed. It was at Nanjiang Department Store. These are for my boyfriend. He's coming in a few days, so I'm preparing some gifts for his arrival."
Zhang Yi said with a hint of disdain, "It's different when you have a boyfriend. You must have been holding back before, not happy unless you show off."
Zhuo Ni didn't reply, but her increasingly radiant smile said it all.
Although Zhang Yi feigned annoyance, she was happier to see her roommate, or rather, friend, like this. After all, they had lived together for two years and gotten along quite well.
Their conversation was overheard by Zhou Fang, who had just emerged from the bathroom. She also noticed the pile of items on Zhuo Ni's desk and bed, her gaze a little odd.
Sensing her attention, Zhuo Ni looked up. Her gaze was open and honest, causing Zhou Fang to instinctively look away.
From the original host's memories, Zhou Fang was a very ordinary girl, even more so than the original host. She came from a poor family, her appearance was only mildly pretty, and she was introverted and insecure, almost having no presence.
Since she posed no threat, Zhuo Ni didn't pay her much mind.
The weekend passed in a flash. On Monday, when she went to school, just as in the plot, someone confessed to her.
It was a second-generation rich kid, whose family had money. He had dated many girls and was probably just infatuated with her for a moment. In the original plot, the host was quickly abandoned by him, but then unable to return to her ordinary life, she eventually degenerated.
For Zhuo Ni, of course, she would not agree.
"I have a boyfriend."
The boy didn't believe her. "I've heard that excuse many times. I don't believe it. This is the first time I've actively confessed to someone. Lu Ni, give me some face, won't you?"
It wasn't a business negotiation, why should she give him face?
Zhuo Ni smiled. "Whether you believe it or not is none of my business. If you bother me again, I'll beat you up."
The boy was speechless.
It was the first time he had been so rudely rejected. Of course, he was unwilling. The next day, he blocked the entrance to their college, putting on a grand display to confess again.
He even brought a bunch of his buddies to support him. When Zhuo Ni, Zhang Yi, and others came out, they were immediately surrounded. People on the roadside were cheering. The boy looked at her with a smirk, as if he wouldn't leave until she agreed.
Without a word, Zhuo Ni stepped forward and landed a punch.
The boy instantly crouched down in pain. Everyone around was stunned. The noise of cheering died down, most people fell silent, and some began to criticize her.
Zhuo Ni said coldly, "I told you I have a boyfriend. If you bother me again, I'll beat you. Can't you understand human language?"
Zhang Yi also said loudly, "What is this, trying to emotionally manipulate her? She already has a boyfriend and you expect her to agree? Agree to what! You all sound so brave, why don't you agree then! You're all accomplices in this moral blackmail, how disgusting!"
The onlookers suddenly felt ashamed.
Watching a spectacle was a human pastime. Not only was there a show, but it didn't affect their own interests, and they could even chime in with a few words. Who wouldn't like that?
But when exposed like this, everyone's face fell.
Someone retorted, "We didn't know, we were just saying..."
"Of course you were just saying," Zhang Yi, in her element, was not about to back down. "It has nothing to do with you anyway. If my roommate was a bit timid, would you have forced her to agree? It's easy to open your mouth, but when it happens to you,哼."
Zhuo Ni had finished her warning, and the two of them left.
After walking a considerable distance, Zhang Yi exclaimed, "Holy crap! I didn't know you could fight! You're amazing, my sister!"
"I always could."
Zhang Yi gave her a thumbs-up. "Amazing. I'm telling you, you have to be tough with those shameless people. Otherwise, they'll keep pestering you endlessly, it's so annoying. After you treated him like that today, if he comes again, he's just being despicable. That young master probably won't have the nerve anymore."
"That would be for the best," Zhuo Ni replied.
Zhuo Ni didn't intend to dwell on who was right or wrong in what happened between him and the original host in the plot. It was a matter of mutual convenience, and the original host's final fate couldn't be blamed on him.
Even without him, there would have been someone else.
Her phone suddenly rang.
It wasn't a call, but an alarm.
"My boyfriend is arriving soon. I need to go pick him up. Can you help me take my books back?"
Zhang Yi was surprised for a moment, then immediately said, "Of course! Don't forget to bring him back for us to see, and treat us to a meal."
Zhuo Ni handed her the books. "Thanks, I won't forget. I'll treat you tomorrow."
Zhang Yi smiled teasingly at her. "So you're not coming back to the dorm today?"
"What do you think?" Of course not.
"Hahaha..."
