Chapter 131: Chapter 22: The Clueless Sweetie Si Ruoqi Gives for Free

Si Ruoqi suddenly froze, staring blankly.

Her face, ears, and even her swan-like, fair neck flushed a deep red. She felt her entire body heat up, and even the air she exhaled seemed to burn.

Shyly, she covered her face. It was the first time she had ever seen a naked man in real life.

She clamped her hands over her face, determined not to look. Her fingers, however, seemed to have a mind of their own, parting just enough to create a small gap through which she greedily took in the view.

Unfortunately, beautiful sights are always fleeting. The hot water in the bathroom began to rise, and a layer of steam gradually fogged up the transparent glass. The scene inside became indistinct, like looking at flowers through a mist.

Even so, Si Ruoqi remained outside, her eyes glued to the glass. It was as if the twisting silhouette behind the steam was a peerless masterpiece that had utterly captivated her, drawing her in.

The man showered quickly. Soon, the water stopped, and the bathroom door opened. Before Si Ruoqi could react, he had already emerged, a bath towel wrapped around his waist.

"I’m done. Your turn," he said. "A shower feels great. What are you still spacing out for? Aren’t you going to wash up?" Sun Dasheng asked.

Si Ruoqi finally snapped out of it. "Oh, my change of clothes is in the car. I need to go down and get it."

"Really? Why’s your face so red? Do you have a cold or a fever?" Sun Dasheng asked, noticing she seemed unwell.

Clutching her hot cheeks, Si Ruoqi scurried away.

"How strange," Sun Dasheng muttered.

He then went to the bedroom and brought out a pillow and blanket. Since she had a fever and was unwell, he figured he should let her have the bedroom tonight. It wasn’t that he possessed some noble, gentlemanly spirit; he normally wouldn’t give up his bed for a woman.

When Si Ruoqi returned, she was surprised to find him sleeping on the sofa. Earlier, when they had first arrived, he had thrown his luggage onto the bed to stake his claim.

But now he’s given up the bed. It must be because he thinks I’m not feeling well.

A gentle smile touched her lips, but she quickly suppressed it.

"Want something to eat?" a cool voice asked. Sun Dasheng put down his phone and looked up.

She was standing by the sofa, holding two large bags of grilled food.

"I went down to buy medicine and happened to see a place nearby, so I grabbed some food," she said.

She wouldn’t admit that she hadn’t gone to buy medicine at all, but had gone out specifically to get this food. It was all because he had casually mentioned in the car how much he liked grilled food, particularly from street stalls. He had said that even if the stalls looked dirty, as long as the ingredients were fresh, the food was way better than anywhere else.

"Smells amazing, thanks." Sun Dasheng didn’t stand on ceremony. He took the bags, set them on the coffee table, and immediately started digging in.

After a few bites, it dawned on him. "Aren’t you having any?" he asked, realizing she was just watching him eat.

Si Ruoqi shook her head. "I rarely eat grilled or fried foods. They’re too high in calories and make you gain weight easily. For a woman, gaining weight is a nightmare."

Then she asked, "Do you always eat like this?"

"Yeah, why?" Sun Dasheng was surprised by her question.

She looked at him with envy. "I’m so jealous. You can eat whatever you want and still stay in great shape. Not me. If I indulge in just one meal, I’ll immediately gain three pounds."

"That’s because you don’t get enough exercise," Sun Dasheng concluded, still eating.

He could tell from her soft build that she wasn’t someone who exercised regularly. She stays slim with one simple trick: starvation.

"Hmm, I’m usually busy with work and don’t have much time to exercise," Si Ruoqi nodded.

"No wonder you’re in such bad shape. You get sick at the drop of a hat."

Sun Dasheng handed her a grilled sausage. "Here, have something. You need to eat more when you’re sick, or you’ll recover slowly."

She felt as if he had some magical power over her; she found it impossible to refuse what he offered.

Taking the grilled sausage, she began to eat happily.

"This sausage is delicious!"

A giant question mark formed over Sun Dasheng’s head. Has she never eaten anything good in her life?

As if reading his mind, Si Ruoqi explained, "For the past few years, I’ve only been eating fat-reduction meal plans. Everything is bland and flavorless."

"So a single grilled sausage is a delicacy to you?" Sun Dasheng asked, finding it hard to believe.

Women are really cruel to themselves when it comes to losing weight.

After finishing the sausage, Si Ruoqi went to take a shower.

Inside, just as she finished undressing, she suddenly remembered what had happened earlier. The glass door of this shower offered practically no privacy. She frantically covered herself and peeked outside.

Phew. Thank goodness. The man was still hunched over his food, completely absorbed and not paying her any attention.

She quickly turned the shower on full blast and cranked the temperature to the maximum. Soon, a thick layer of steam coated the glass. When she looked out again, the view was completely obscured. All she could make out was a blurry shape, and she could only guess what he was doing.

Reassured, she finally began to shower in peace.

What she didn’t know was that Sun Dasheng had already gotten a crystal-clear view of everything. He was quick on his feet, though. The moment she glanced his way, he had ducked his head and pretended to be focused on his food. This created the illusion that he hadn’t seen a thing.

To be honest, Si Ruoqi’s body wasn’t particularly attractive to him, especially when compared to the yoga-practicing Jiang Ziyan, the uniquely built Wu Xiaoli, or Fang Sihan, who had danced since childhood. Her figure was far inferior. She had a fairly average build, nothing more.

Still, seeing her standing there completely naked had made his heart skip a beat.
