Chapter 142: Chapter 25: Hanfu Beauty Bai Feifei (Part 3)

Because she was still dressed in traditional Hanfu. Although many girls dressed this way were common in short videos, it was still a rare sight in reality, especially on someone so beautiful.

After the New Year, spring had returned, with daytime temperatures reaching over ten degrees Celsius. Still, it was a bit chilly, and most pedestrians on the street were still wearing heavy coats. She was clearly braving the cold for the sake of beauty.

"Do I look good?" Seeing the man beside her observing her clothes, she showed them off gracefully.

"You look great," Sun Dasheng said, sincerely feeling that the aesthetics of his ancestors were superior. "These clothes weren’t cheap, were they?" he asked.

"A big boss like you is worried about the price?" Bai Feifei blinked playfully.

For a beauty with such a tranquil demeanor to have this side to her, Sun Dasheng was somewhat surprised.

Too bad Young Master Xiang didn’t see this. If he had, he would have been overjoyed. A mischievous thought crossed Sun Dasheng’s mind.

"What are you smiling at?" Bai Feifei asked curiously.

He had nothing to hide, so he told her what he was thinking. Bai Feifei wasn’t annoyed after hearing it.

"We go to the same university and we met in the same club. He’s been trying to pursue me ever since, but as you can see, I’m just not interested in him."

"Why not? I think he’s good-looking, and his family is wealthy. He must be pretty popular with the girls at university, right?" Sun Dasheng asked curiously.

"Yes, plenty of girls are chasing after him," Bai Feifei nodded.

"But he just had to fall for you," Sun Dasheng commented. "The one you can’t have is always the best."

"Perhaps," Bai Feifei said, her words holding a deeper meaning. "Or perhaps if he had me, he wouldn’t cherish me."

Interesting. There’s definitely more to this story. Still, since she doesn’t want to talk about it, I’m not going to press her for details.

When they reached a tea shop, Bai Feifei stopped. "Wait here a second." Before long, she returned with two drinks and handed one to him. "This is for you!"

Sun Dasheng took a sip and hissed, "Whoa, that’s sour!" He nearly dropped the drink.

Seeing Sun Dasheng grimace from the sourness, Bai Feifei burst out laughing. "You don’t like lemonade either?"

"Either? Who else doesn’t like it?" Sun Dasheng asked after composing himself.

Bai Feifei, however, refused to say more.

A short while later, they arrived in front of a shopping mall.

"Let me treat you to a movie," Bai Feifei suggested. Before Sun Dasheng could even answer, she had already bought the tickets on her phone and was pulling him upstairs.

The movie theater was on the third floor. They arrived just as ticketing began for their film. While they were in line, she ran off and bought a large bucket of popcorn.

Inside the theater, the two of them sat in the back row, looking just like a couple. Neither paid much attention to the movie playing on the screen.

As Sun Dasheng sat there, she would occasionally feed him a piece of popcorn.

"Is it good?"

He turned his head and met a pair of deep, affectionate eyes. She didn’t flinch under his gaze, simply staring back adoringly.

"It’s pretty good," Sun Dasheng said.

"If you like it, have more. It’s all for you," Bai Feifei said with a sweet smile. She grabbed a large handful from the bucket and stuffed it into his mouth.

"Are you trying to fatten up a pig?" Sun Dasheng said in annoyance after swallowing the handful.

"Hee hee..." Bai Feifei covered her mouth and giggled softly.

The movie was mediocre, and afterward, he couldn’t recall any of the plot details. However, Bai Feifei’s every move in the theater was etched deeply into his memory.

What is this girl’s game? Am I so handsome that it was love at first sight? Nah, that’s impossible. A girl this beautiful must have seen handsome men by the dozen. There’s no reason for her to be this obsessed. I just don’t get it.

After the movie, she immediately dragged him down to the arcade on the second floor. They played everything with gusto: claw machines, basketball, fishing games, and motorcycle and car racers.

Time flew by, and soon it was 11 p.m. Having had her fill of fun, Bai Feifei pulled Sun Dasheng to their final stop of the night: a hotel.

Huh? He stared at the Hanfu-clad woman, wishing he could crack open her head and see what on earth she was thinking.

He took two steps back. A woman who gets a room with a man this easily... I can’t get involved. If she has some kind of disease, it’ll be game over for me.

Bai Feifei laughed and pulled him back. "What, do you think I’m some kind of loose woman who’s been with countless men?"

"No, don’t put words in my mouth. I never said that," Sun Dasheng said, shaking his head.

"Then why were you running?" Bai Feifei just stared at him, her expression seeming to say, *Go on, try to talk your way out of this one.*

"Sir, Madam, your room is ready. Shall I show you the way up?" The receptionist’s timing was perfect, defusing the awkward atmosphere.

"No need. Just give me the room card." Bai Feifei took the card from the receptionist and handed it to Sun Dasheng. "There, you can relax now, right? If I had any sinister intentions, a big guy like you could still get away, couldn’t you?"

I wasn’t going to, but after a taunt like that... Now he was actually curious to go upstairs and see what she was up to.

He had been completely wrong. Nothing he had worried about happened. All that did happen was that he now held a soft, fair-skinned woman in his arms.

Lighting a post-coital cigarette, Sun Dasheng asked, "Why?"

"Does everything in this world need to have an answer?" Bai Feifei’s reply was rather philosophical.

"It’s not that I absolutely need an answer," he said. "It’s just... the way all this happened. It feels too much like a dream."

If he weren’t so self-assured, anyone else in this situation would probably assume they were being scammed or walking into a honey trap.
