Chapter 141: Chapter 25: Hanfu Beauty Bai Feifei (Part 2)

"The Great Sage Equalling Heaven, *that* Great Saint?" Bai Feifei asked curiously.

"The ’Sheng’ for victory," Sun Dasheng clarified.

"Got it." With that, she added a note to the new friend on her contact list.

"Aren’t you Yang Xintian’s boyfriend? Why aren’t you with them?" Xiao Shao couldn’t resist asking, his words seemingly aimed at the girl beside him. He put heavy stress on the word "boyfriend."

"Compared to me, her ’boyfriend,’ perhaps she prefers to hang out with certain other people," Sun Dasheng replied, emphasizing the word "boyfriend" as well.

Although both of them emphasized the word, their intended meanings were completely different.

Xiao Shao wanted to make it clear to the girl beside him that this man already had a girlfriend.

Sun Dasheng, however, was trying to tell him that he was merely a shield, and that she had other plans.

However, his words were rather cryptic, and Xiao Shao clearly didn’t get the hint. The girl beside Xiao Shao, however, seemed to understand. She gave Sun Dasheng a knowing smile before turning to Xiao Shao. "It’s getting late, I should head home."

"Oh, time flies! We’ve only played a few rounds and it’s already time to eat. Feifei, let me take you to dinner. Please don’t refuse this time."

The sad desperation of a simp was on full display as he waited with bated breath for his goddess’s command.

Just then, the two younger girls came over, and he looked at them as if they were his saviors. He quickly pulled his sister over. "Help your big brother out. Say a few good words to your Sister Feifei and get her to agree to my treat."

"Bro, you two have known each other for so long, why do you need me to ask? This is the first time we’ve met," Xiang Zixuan said, confused.

But Xiao Shao knew exactly what he was doing. Even though his sister had only just met her today, she had a natural charm that other girls were drawn to. It was easy for her to be liked, even by straight girls, so it was easy for her to win their favor. The chances of getting a ’yes’ were much higher if she asked instead of him. Didn’t he see how Bai Feifei was just on the verge of refusing him?

Sighing, Xiang Zixuan realized she had no choice. He was her brother, after all. She had to step in, gently tugging on Bai Feifei’s sleeve. "Sister Feifei, my brother rarely offers to treat anyone, so please go. If you don’t, we won’t get to freeload off his big meal either."

As expected, Bai Feifei smiled. But she didn’t immediately agree. Instead, she asked, "Is everyone going?"

Xiao Shao quickly jumped in to explain, "Of course, it’ll just be the three of us. Those two lovebirds have their own things to do later."

It would be too crowded, too many prying eyes. Besides, he faintly felt a sense of threat from Sun Dasheng. For some reason, it was as if this man was his natural enemy.

"Oh," Bai Feifei said noncommittally, giving neither a yes nor a no.

Xiao Shao grew anxious and shot a look at his sister, but Xiang Zixuan didn’t know what to do.

Just then, Yang Xintian linked her arm with Xiang Zixuan’s and said to Bai Feifei, "Sister Feifei, let’s all go together! The more, the merrier."

"Sure!"

This time, Bai Feifei agreed without the slightest hesitation, as if she hadn’t been the one wavering just moments before.

Xiao Shao shot Yang Xintian a hateful glare, but he was helpless.

If he didn’t let them come along, his goddess wouldn’t agree either.

「...」

「Haidilao」

In Xiao Shao’s opinion, the place wasn’t that expensive, and the food was just so-so. Still, it was a step up from some random roadside hot pot joint. But since his goddess had specifically requested this place, he naturally complied.

He found the meal completely tasteless. His goddess barely spoke, and the few words she did say were mostly directed at Sun Dasheng. Meanwhile, his sister was completely engrossed with that little enchantress, the two of them chatting and laughing the whole time. The four of them had split into two pairs, leaving him the odd one out.

Disgruntled, he ordered both beer and white liquor. He wanted to challenge the other man to a drinking contest. Unfortunately for him, he lost. He was the first to get plastered and pass out on the table, a sight that made Yang Xintian laugh uncontrollably.

"Zi Xuan, your brother isn’t pretending to be drunk to skip the bill, is he?"

Although it was her close friend talking, she still felt the need to defend her brother’s honor. "No way! Tian Tian, I know you don’t like my brother, but he wouldn’t stoop to faking drunk just to ditch the bill for a meal like this."

Seeing her little sweetheart getting upset, Yang Xintian quickly apologized. "Sorry, sorry, I was just kidding."

"Here, let me make it up to you." She opened another bottle of beer, poured a full glass, and was about to chug it in one go.

"Hey!" Xiang Zixuan stopped her. "Alright, alright, I forgive you! Why are you drinking so much?"

Watching the two girls across the table bicker like a little couple, Bai Feifei smiled faintly, revealing two shallow dimples.

"You know, I’m starting to think *they’re* the couple, and that you have nothing to do with her at all."

Faced with her teasing, Sun Dasheng took a sip of his drink and laughed. "I knew you’d see through it. I’m just a shield that little girl hired."

"Well, you’re honest, I’ll give you that," Bai Feifei said, putting down her chopsticks to show she was finished eating.

"How about we leave this space to them and go for a walk?" Bai Feifei suggested.

"What about him?" Sun Dasheng asked, nodding toward the unconscious Xiao Shao on the table.

"Isn’t his sister still here?" Bai Feifei replied nonchalantly. It seemed the two of them really didn’t have any special relationship.

"True," Sun Dasheng nodded. The bill had already been paid by the sucker who had drunk himself unconscious.

They got up and walked out, completely unnoticed by the other two, who were still lost in their own whispered conversation.

There was a bustling pedestrian street nearby. As the two of them walked along, they attracted quite a few second glances, most of which, of course, were for Bai Feifei.
