Chapter 208: Chapter 56 Sun Dasheng: Don’t be afraid, Uncle will check on you.
"Well, well, brothers. Look at this guy, putting on a show? Thinks he’s some kind of gangster from the movies, huh? Boys, get him! Let’s show him what’s what."
WHAM! BAM! POW!
For a moment, the scene was quite bloody.
The two young girls reacted differently. Xiang Zixuan squeezed her eyes shut, unable to bear the sight of Uncle Sun getting beaten black and blue. Yang Xintian’s eyes, on the other hand, widened as she watched the heroic and powerful Uncle Sun. Every move he made was so elegant. He didn’t even use his hands, just his legs, sending the thugs flying into the wall with a single kick each until they fainted on the ground.
"It’s okay now!" Xiang Zixuan heard Uncle Sun’s gentle voice in her ear.
She opened her eyes and stared in disbelief at Sun Dasheng, who was completely unscathed, while the thugs were strewn across the floor. She was so stunned she forgot to hand over his things.
"What’s wrong? Don’t want to give my stuff back?" Sun Dasheng chuckled, ruffling her hair.
This time, she didn’t dodge. Uncle Sun’s hand is so big and warm, just like Dad’s when he used to pat my head. She found the feeling captivating.
Seeing this, Yang Xintian grew alarmed. Oh no! Is my wifey having a change of heart? Is she falling for an older man? No way! I won’t approve of this match!
She quickly snatched Sun Dasheng’s jacket and watch from Xiang Zixuan and handed them to him, fawning over him in an exaggerated tone. "Wow, Uncle Sun! I had no idea you were so incredible! One kick per person! You’re so cool! You’re a total superman in my eyes!"
After putting on his jacket and watch, Sun Dasheng took a few steps then turned back to the two girls, who were still staring blankly at the pile of thugs. "Let’s go. Are you planning to stick around and pay their medical bills?"
"Wait for us, Uncle Sun!" Yang Xintian cried, pulling the slow-to-react Xiang Zixuan along as they chased after him.
"Uncle Sun, they aren’t seriously hurt, are they?" Yang Xintian asked, panting. She was probably worried that if they’d been beaten too badly, the police would come knocking.
"Don’t worry, I held back," Sun Dasheng said, annoyed. "They’re just superficial wounds. I was just teaching them a lesson. Did you actually want me to kill them?"
"Uncle Sun, you’re so mighty and impressive! I, Yang Xintian, hereby declare myself your number one fangirl!" she exclaimed. "And Zixuan is too, right, Zixuan?"
She turned to Xiang Zixuan beside her. Xiang Zixuan’s curious eyes had been glued to this mysterious man. Put on the spot, it took her a moment to process before she nodded vigorously in agreement.
Yang Xintian said proudly, "See, Uncle Sun? I just recruited another fangirl for you. So, can you teach me just a little bit of your supreme martial arts?" She pinched her thumb and index finger together, indicating a very small amount.
Sun Dasheng watched her with amusement. So that’s why she was being so nice. This was her angle. Supreme martial arts? I don’t even know what that is, how could I teach her? I’m just in better shape than most people. Of course, not many people would believe the truth.
To stop the girl from pestering him about it, he said, "If you want to learn, you can. Get a membership at my gym and look for Coach Wu Yue. I learned everything from her."
"Really?" Yang Xintian was suddenly very interested.
For one, Uncle Sun had looked incredibly cool beating up those bad guys. She also wanted to play the hero and rescue someone she cared about. The very thought was thrilling. Secondly, if she learned some real skills, Uncle Sun couldn’t just threaten to spank her whenever he felt like it. Maybe she could even turn the tables... heh heh...
As she thought about this, she let out a strange chuckle, causing both Sun Dasheng and Xiang Zixuan to stare at her as if she were losing her mind.
"Heh heh... why are you looking at me like that? I’m fine. I just thought of something funny."
"Really?" Sun Dasheng eyed her skeptically. Why did her laugh sound so... sleazy? This is a first. I never knew a girl’s laugh could sound this creepy.
After that incident, the girls stopped talking about going back to school.
"Alright, I’ll take you home, then," Sun Dasheng said. He hadn’t driven to the banquet, so he hailed a ride-share from the side of the road.
As luck would have it, the driver was the same one who had driven Wang Manman and Yang Xintian before. Their eyes met, and the driver instantly recognized his memorable customer. Seeing the two young women with him, the driver gave him a look that all men would understand.
"Sorry, sir," he said immediately. "The passenger seat was soiled by the last customer. How about the three of you squeeze in the back?"
Sun Dasheng promptly slipped him an unopened pack of premium cigarettes, which the driver accepted with a knowing nod.
Yang Xintian was supposed to sit in the middle, but for some reason, the driver’s handling of the car was erratic today. The constant sudden stops and sharp braking were making her feel nauseous. Eventually, she switched places with Sun Dasheng, feeling much better once she was leaning against the window.
After calming the little troublemaker down, Sun Dasheng turned to Xiang Zixuan, whose body was still tense, and asked softly, "Are you okay?"
"I’m fine, Uncle Sun. You should check on Tian Tian."
"She’s fine now. She’s already fallen asleep, see?" he said, shifting his body to give her a better look. But leaning over only brought them closer.
Feeling the firm muscle of his arm against hers, her mind began to wander and her heart fluttered. She didn’t say anything, simply letting him stay close.
"Zixuan, your arm is so cold. Are you sure you’re okay?"
