Chapter 177: Chapter 42 Yang Xintian: Impossible, how could I possibly fall for Uncle Sun?
Absolutely impossible! How could I violate the laws of biology and fall for a grown man? But... my body seems to be reacting. Smelling that pleasant scent from him, I feel my heart starting to beat faster and faster.
"Why is your face so red?" Sun Dasheng asked curiously.
After spending so much time together, he was aware of her sexual orientation, which was why he asked. Had she been a typical woman, he certainly wouldn’t have phrased it that way.
"Uh, maybe I’m sick?" Yang Xintian lied.
"Really?" Sun Dasheng touched her forehead with his hand. "It’s not hot. You don’t have a fever."
"Then... it must be the heat. Maybe the air conditioning at home is set too high." Yang Xintian was flustered and scrambling for an excuse.
"You don’t even have the air conditioning on. It’s over ten degrees today; the weather is quite nice. Why would you turn on the AC?"
"Ah, then it must be that I’m wearing too many clothes. I’m just hot," Yang Xintian immediately found another excuse, secretly praising herself for her quick thinking.
Little did she know, Sun Dasheng had seen right through her.
Quite interesting.
In biology, besides the two common sexual orientations, there is also bisexuality, where a person is attracted to both the same and the opposite sex. Sun Dasheng suddenly found himself interested in her.
With a bit more pressure from his arm, he pulled her into his embrace.
"Uncle Sun, what are you doing?" Yang Xintian struggled slightly. The intimate contact made her uncomfortable.
But soon, the pleasant fragrance from his body wafted over again. It soothed her restlessness, and she quieted down.
"Tian Tian, tell me about you and Xiang Zixuan," he said, his interest piqued.
Just like that, the little she-devil turned into an obedient kitten.
"Uncle Sun, why are you suddenly interested in this?" she asked softly.
"No reason. Just bored. I have nothing better to do, so I thought I’d chat with you," Sun Dasheng said with an air of indifference.
Perhaps his nonchalant tone lowered her guard, and she began to recount their story. It wasn’t complicated; it was a cliché tale of a hero saving a beauty, but the hero in this story was different from the usual. The hero was the girl, Yang Xintian. The incident took place in a bar and involved Xiang Zixuan, a Blondie, and Yang Xintian. In the end, Yang Xintian was the one who chased off the Blondie and saved Xiang Zixuan from being harassed. Afterward, the two became the best of friends, able to talk about anything.
"Did you ever like any girls in high school?" he asked again.
"No, the girls in high school were all too childish," Yang Xintian replied, shaking her head.
Well, listen to her. If her high school classmates heard that, who knows what they would think. In reality, girls in high school are already much more mature than boys of the same age. No wonder she doesn’t like boys; it turns out she even looked down on girls her own age.
"Isn’t Xiang Zixuan childish, then?" he posed another question.
"Of course not. Don’t be fooled by her quiet and reserved appearance. She’s very mature in her thinking. She’s just introverted and doesn’t usually say much, but when you chat with her, no matter the topic, she can always get to the heart of the matter in just a few words."
So that’s how it is. The ancestors were right: you can’t judge a book by its cover.
"Uncle Sun, can you let me go? I feel really hot," she said.
She truly was hot. Her whole body felt feverish, and beads of sweat were forming on her forehead. Although his scent was alluring, the heat was making her extremely uncomfortable.
"Is that so?" Sun Dasheng released her.
She quickly scrambled off him and went to the bathroom to wash her face. In the bathroom mirror, the deliberately heavy makeup was gone, revealing a pure and youthful face.
"Ugh, you messed up all my makeup," she grumbled.
However, she didn’t reapply it. Instead, she returned to the living room.
Seeing the drastic change in her appearance, Sun Dasheng marveled, "With such a pretty face, why wear makeup at all? It’s a waste."
He wasn’t exaggerating. Before removing her makeup, she was slightly less striking than the three cuties at home. After, there was hardly any difference. She was another stunningly beautiful woman. Her beauty was like a lotus emerging from pure water, natural and unadorned. Her features weren’t the type that suited heavy makeup; it was a definite drawback.
"Uncle Sun, you just know how to sweet-talk me," Yang Xintian said, not taking him seriously. It seemed that in her mind, the mature version of herself with heavy makeup was prettier.
"I’m telling you the truth. If you don’t believe me, give Xiang Zixuan a video call and ask for her opinion."
This suggestion intrigued her. Deciding that action was better than hesitation, she immediately started a video call. It connected quickly.
Two beautiful women appeared on the screen. On the other end, Xiang Zixuan was wearing a headband and a facial mask. She paused when she saw the face in the video call, then glanced at the caller’s ID to confirm it was indeed her good friend, Yang Xintian.
"Tian Tian, I had no idea you were so pretty without makeup."
Her very first words proved Sun Dasheng had been right.
"Ah! Zixuan, are you serious? Do I really look better without makeup?" Yang Xintian asked in astonishment.
It seemed her perception of herself really was flawed. But you couldn’t blame her. She had been rebellious, mixing with a bad crowd right when her values and worldview were being formed. A person’s environment has a huge impact on them, especially during their formative years.
"Yes, Tian Tian! I can’t believe your skin is so good, so smooth. I’m so jealous! I use face masks and do my skincare routine every day, and my skin still isn’t as good as yours."
"With skin like that, why do you cake on so much foundation?"
"I used to think you had bad skin and were using it to cover blemishes."
