Chapter 32: 32. Zavier’s sweet promises
AT THE SAME TIME
MICHAEL
The room was silent for a heartbeat, as if the very air had frozen in reverence to the Goddess. Then chaos resumed, just with a slightly more stunned tone. Adrian’s jaw had nearly reached the floor. He blinked at me, then at Zavier, then back at the Goddess.
"Wait... wait. You’re telling me..." His voice trailed off, lost in disbelief. "Oh god."
Xavier’s usually composed, calculating dark eyes were actually spinning. He pinched the bridge of his nose.
"How... how did we not know?!"He asked.
Charlie, of course, was completely unbothered by the magnitude of everything.
"Big brother, that’s... that’s incredible!" He bounced, hands clasped. "I mean, wow! A pup! Isn’t that... wow!"
I groaned, hiding my face in Zavier’s chest again. My wolf whimpered, pressing against me, clearly agreeing with my mental plea to just disappear. Selene, after a shocked pause, smirked faintly. A dangerous, amused glint in her eyes.
"So Michael actually likes being the center of attention, doesn’t he?" She whispered to Rose.
Rose just grinned, green eyes sparkling.
"Ohhh... and we’ve only just begun."Rose said.
The Moon Goddess floated slightly closer, voice calm but carrying authority.
"Michael, your legacy is not just your bloodline, nor the pup you carry. It is why you were chosen second in the first place. All of this... everything, has led to this moment."Godness said.
I blinked up at her, cheeks flaming.
"Second...? Chosen second...? Gods, my life is chaos incarnate."I asked.
Zavier chuckled low, brushing a stray strand of hair from my face.
"Mine chaos." He said, just loud enough for me to hear, lips brushing my temple. "And yes, you’re mine. Chosen or not."
Adrian finally shook himself, clearly trying to recover some dignity, though the wide eyed awe remained. He looked at me, then at Charlie bouncing happily.
"So... we’re... supposed to just accept all of this all Goddess approved?"Adrian asked.
Charlie giggled, tugging gently at Adrian’s sleeve.
"Oh come on, Adrian! Isn’t this amazing? Michael’s amazing!"Charlie said.
Terrence muttered something under his breath and crossed his arms, glaring at both Adrian and Xavier like they were somehow conspiring against him. Xavier, however, couldn’t help the small, incredulous grin that tugged at the corner of his lips. Selene’s smirk widened slightly.
"I have to admit... seeing Charlie actually like someone, and seeing Michael being... adored like this... it’s not so bad."Selene grinned.
The Moon Goddess floated a little higher, gaze sweeping over everyone with a soft laugh that carried both warmth and divine amusement.
"And now, all who stand before him must acknowledge... Michael is not merely an omega. He is a legacy, a pup, and a chosen one. The very fabric of your pack, your bonds... all of it will change, starting today."She said.
Rose clapped softly, eyes twinkling.
"Oh, yes. This is perfect. Absolute chaos, but perfect."Rose added.
My wolf whimpered again, pressing closer.
"I can’t..."And hid my face deeper in Zavier’s chest.
Zavier pressed a kiss to my temple.
"You can, because I’m here. Always."
Charlie, bouncing with pure delight, leaned against me briefly before spinning to the others.
"See? You all need to step up! Michael’s the best! And he’s ours to protect! Right?"Charlie said happily.
Adrian blinked, then sighed, shaking his head.
"Right. Yeah... I guess we’ll manage."Adrian said. "I’ll manage alright..."While shooting a glare at
Xavier, who was still grinning faintly.
Selene leaned back, crossing her arms, but the ghost of a grin tugged at her lips.
"Well... at least it’s entertaining."Selene said.
And there I was, trapped in Zavier’s arms, carrying a pup I barely understood, and a room full of shocked, stunned, and absolutely chaotic alphas, saints, and mischief makers... all while the Goddess floated above, smiling with quiet amusement. My wolf whimpered again, tail curling, and I thought, Yes. This is definitely my life now. Chaos is approved by the Moon Goddess herself. I finally felt the room’s chaos settle, just enough for Zavier to guide me away from the flurry of shocked faces.
"Come. We need a moment."I said.
My wolf pressed closer into his chest, still jittery from the doctor’s revelation, but a sliver of calm came with Zavier’s steady warmth. We found a quiet balcony, moonlight draping us in silver, casting gentle shadows. Zavier’s hand brushed mine, thumb stroking softly.
"Michael... look at me."Zavier said.
I obeyed, eyes wide, cheeks still flushed.
"I... I don’t know what to think. Everything... it’s too much."I sighed.
He gave a small, patient smile, silver eyes catching the moonlight like liquid metal.
"I know. And I’ll admit... it’s a lot. But you? You’re still you. You’re mine. That hasn’t changed."Zavier said.
I blinked, swallowing hard.
"Yours..." The words barely left my lips before a shiver ran through me. "I... I don’t even feel ready... for... for all of this."
Zavier’s thumb moved to trace the edge of the ring on his finger, the one he’d slipped onto my hand weeks ago, a promise in quiet moments, a bond waiting to be fully claimed.
"Michael... this." He murmured, pressing my hand against his chest. "This is what matters. The chaos, the pack, the drama... all of it fades when we remember why it started. That ring isn’t just metal. It’s a promise. Our marriage. Our bond. That hasn’t changed either."
My pulse skipped. I remembered that quiet moment when he’d held the ring against my hand, soft words, a solemn vow that I’d barely believed I deserved. And now... here it was, real, tangible, and unwavering.
"I... I remember." I whispered, fingers trembling as I touched the ring. "But... it’s still scary, Zavier. Everything that’s happening... it’s... too much."
He cupped my face, eyes burning with an intensity that was soft but unwavering.
"Then I’ll be your anchor. Through every crazy, shocking, impossible thing... I’ll be here. You’re not alone. And I’ll remind you, every day, that you’re mine."Zavier said softly.
My wolf pressed closer, leaning into him, chest heaving with unspent tension. I let a shaky breath escape, feeling warmth seep back into my trembling limbs.
"Yours..." I said again, this time with more conviction.
Zavier’s lips brushed mine in a soft, grounding kiss, slow, tender, a reminder that even in chaos, some things were steady. His ring caught the moonlight, a symbol of promise amidst the madness.
"We’ll face everything." He whispered, forehead resting against mine. "Together. Always. But don’t forget... that ring? It’s not just for show. It’s a reminder. Our bond. Our marriage. Our life together."
I swallowed, heart fluttering, warmth blooming despite the lingering panic.
"Okay... I’ll remember. I... I promise."I said.
He smiled, brushing a stray lock of hair from my face.
"Good. That’s all I need. That’s all I’ve ever needed."Zavier added.
And in that quiet, silver-drenched moment, with the chaos of the pack muted to a distant hum, I let myself believe it. Let myself be his. Let myself trust the ring, the bond, and the man who had claimed me, heart and soul.
