Chapter 30: 30. Moonflower beauty ’boost’?
AT THE SAME TIME
MICHAEL
We stumbled into camp, petals falling off me like glittering confetti. My body still tingled from the snare magic, my wolf vibrating with delight and panic at the same time. Zavier held me like I was fragile glass, silver eyes darting to every shadow. I swear, if I moved, he would have melted or exploded whichever came first. Then I heard it. Clapping. Slow, deliberate, mocking clapping. Rose leaned against a tree, emerald eyes glinting, arms crossed, smirk absolutely perfect.
"Well, well, someone survived... and sparkling like a crystal prince."Rose said.
I froze. My wolf growled low, embarrassed but also a little smug.
"Rose... don’t start..."I said.
Selene stepped up beside her, lips tight, hands on her hips.
"I swear, I’ve never seen a situation this... chaotic." Her eyes flicked to Zavier. "...Or this ridiculous."
"Ridiculous?" I whispered to Zavier. He only grinned, pressing me closer.
Charlie, ever oblivious, waved at the saintesses.
"Hi! Look at him! He got the Moonflower! Isn’t he amazing?"Charlie said.
Rose’s smirk widened.
"Oh, he is... entertaining. And that outfit..." She circled me slowly, eyes scanning every glowing thread."...unexpected, but effective."
Selene’s jaw tightened.
"Effective? You mean ridiculous."Selene said.
I yelped.
"...I did not ask for this, thank you!"’I said.
Zavier chuckled, silver eyes flashing.
"You look incredible. And mine."Zavier added.
Charlie bounced up and down.
"It’s perfect! Like, he’s sparkling and heroic but still funny! You two are like... uh... big brother and mate goals!"Charlie said.
I groaned.
"Charlie!"Charlie shouted.
Rose laughed softly, voice like velvet.
"See? He has admirers now. And the Goddess... she’s enjoying this immensely. That glow? That ridiculous hair shimmer? She’s delighted."Charlie said.
Selene shot her a glare.
"Delighted? She’s enabling this chaos!"Selene groaned.
"Oh, relax." Rose said sweetly, tilting her head. "Even gods enjoy a little drama. Especially when it’s this sparkly."
Michael’s wolf growled in embarrassment as the petals shimmered faintly around me, every movement sparkling. I could practically feel the Goddess laughter ringing in my ears, high and musical. Charlie tugged my sleeve.
"You’re doing great, Michael! Don’t let anyone scare you look, even the Moonflower thinks you’re perfect!"Charlie said.
I blinked.
"Charlie... you’re impossible."I frowned.
Zavier pressed a hand to my chest, voice low.
"Impossible, yes... but entirely mine."He said.
Rose clapped once, delighted.
"Ah, the power couple effect! Even the little omega knows who to cheer for."Rose grinned.
Selene muttered something about regulations, destiny, and ’unacceptable displays,’ but it was drowned out by Charlie giggling, me groaning, Zavier smirking, and the faint, tinkling sound of the Goddess laughter echoing over the forest. My wolf purred... traitorous little thing. I was glowing. I was protected. I was utterly, ridiculously, impossibly the center of attention. And I had no idea how I was ever going to live this down.
Back inside we had settled into a strange rhythm after the Moonflower debacle. Petals still clung faintly to my hair and clothes, faint glittery traces of the goddess magic shimmering whenever I moved. Even the other alphas Adrian, Terrence, Xavier, couldn’t hide their awe. Every time I walked past, they glanced, stiff jawed, muttering under their breath. Charlie, of course, was bouncing alongside me, utterly delighted, while Rose and Selene exchanged looks somewhere between amusement and disbelief.
Zavier never left my side, hand sliding possessively into mine, silver eyes flashing every time someone dared to look at me too long. My wolf purred, traitorous little thing, vibrating under his chest. Adrian whispered something about ’radiance’ and ’untouchable omega aura’.
"I can’t compete with this."Terrence muttered.
Xavier... Xavier just froze, jaw tight, dark eyes glittering with both admiration and irritation. It was infuriating and ridiculous all at once. I was managing it. Barely. Until the maid ran barreling into the clearing, white apron flapping like a flag.
"Master Michael" She gasped, hands clasped over her mouth. "You, you look pale! Very pale!"
I tried to straighten, puff out my chest.
"I’m... fine." I croaked, voice weak. "Really."
Zavier’s grip tightened immediately.
"Not fine." He said sharply. His silver gaze snapped to mine, eyes scanning me like he could read my body better than I could.
Before I could protest, the world tilted. My knees buckled. The clearing spun. Charlie gasped in surprise, and I realized... oh gods, this wasn’t a dramatic faint act. My wolf yelped, confused and panicked. And then nothing. Darkness. When I opened my eyes again, it was to silver eyes burning into mine, Zavier’s arms holding me steady, every breath and pulse measured. My head rested against his chest, heartbeat thudding wildly against his ribcage. Charlie, ever cheerful, leaned down beside us, golden hair catching the sunlight.
"Big brother... you okay? You scared me!"Charlie asked.
I tried to groan but only managed a weak whimper. Zavier huffed, silver eyes narrowing at everyone else.
"You all see this?" He snapped, voice sharp and commanding. "He’s mine. Do not, do not crowd us."
Adrian and Terrence froze mid step, both blushing furiously. Xavier’s dark eyes went wide, hands lifting as though to help but unsure where to place them. Rose, of course, smirked, emerald eyes sparkling with amusement.
"Well." She said lazily. "That’s one way to keep attention on the omega."
Selene, on the other hand, looked like she was about to combust.
"This is absurd!" She hissed.
Charlie, never missing a beat, patted my arm softly.
"See? You’re special. Even fainting, you steal the show."Charlie grinned.
I groaned softly against Zavier’s chest, heat flushing my face. My wolf whined softly, embarrassed but purring i relief at being so close to Zavier. And Zavier? Zavier just tightened his hold, pressing a kiss to the top of my head. "Mine," he murmured. I could feel the magic lingering in the air the faint sparkle of the Moonflower trail, the goddess laughter echoing faintly from who knows where. I was utterly, ridiculously, hopelessly wrapped up in this chaos. And somehow... I wouldn’t have it any other way.
