Gods Vanish on a Cloudy Day
Chapter 35 Seven Heads, Ten Horns
The battle with Zhuzhou made it difficult for Him and the Gods to interfere with the world. The fact that they had not issued any divine decrees for thousands of years to influence the world had indeed caused the Gods to have little authority in the world. Therefore, considering this, Deus decided to use both intimidation and benefits, a carrot and stick strategy.
Regardless of whether He could find the time to deliver divine punishment or whether Zhuzhou would stop Him, all that mattered was that the Continental Alliance believed it. As long as the Continental Alliance and the Atlantis Federation, this 'product of outsiders,' were hostile, He could rely on His power that was gradually approaching 'Eternity' to forcibly strip away the heterogeneous elements of these outsiders.
After all, all things and all beings are part of the Symphony. When all beings work together, such as in times of war, the Symphony will give birth to a God, or a hero, to cope with all these disasters, resist the unforeseen demon kings and monsters, and guide everything back on track.
This is Deus Ex Machina, but it is also a kind of 'inevitable destiny,' and even more so a 'general trend of history.'
And rejection can be regarded as the world's last resort. In ancient times, when the system of the Gods had not yet taken shape, when extraterrestrial demons invaded the Symphony Universe, and neither Gods nor heroes could fight the enemy, the world itself cut off the part that was contaminated by the extraterrestrial demons, and drove them out to the void of the multiverse.
In simple terms, Deus didn't want to play anymore—He completely gave up the possibility of defeating Zhuzhou, and retreated to the next best option, which was to simply separate all the changes brought about by Zhuzhou, all the derived history, all the possibilities, subsequent derived creations, and the entire past and future from the 'Gods' control of the Symphony,' and throw them into the void of the multiverse.
This was undoubtedly a great loss to the Symphony itself. After all, everyone is part of the Symphony, and giving so many people to Zhuzhou is equivalent to forcibly cutting off most of the flesh to escape.
But it was obviously idiotic to keep fighting when you couldn't win. Even a gecko would cut off its tail. Deus certainly wasn't the smartest guy among the Hegemons, but He certainly wasn't an idiot, at least not as idiotic as a gecko.
At that time, Deus would simply take the world and run away. If He couldn't beat them, He could hide.
Deus even had His own little thoughts.
Now, the Four Pillar Gods, the God-Kings of the three eras, were either suppressed or completely defeated by Zhuzhou, and all the Eternal elements they had accumulated were gathered on Him to fight against the great enemy.
But if Deus simply cut off the universe and ran away with the Symphony Universe, then it was obvious that He would neither have to face a powerful enemy nor have to return the Eternal elements!
—Could those God-Kings still beat Him?
The Eternal elements that didn't need to be divided, even if they needed to spend some to deal with Zhuzhou, were enough for Him to master the power to reach a higher level.
As for the other God-Kings and Gods... what did they have to do with Him? Although the God-Kings didn't mind sharing Eternity, it was also good to be able to monopolize it.
But now, everything had gone wrong from the very beginning.
[How can they fight like this?!]
Deus was now roaring out of control. He had not paid close attention to the world because He was fighting Zhuzhou, and Zhuzhou was deliberately shielding Him. Therefore, after noticing the extremely terrifying magic fluctuations and war intent coming from the world, He did not continue to pay attention.
Occasionally, He took the time to send down divine power, blessing the Continental Alliance, guiding their power to better defeat the Atlantis nations. And each blessing meant that He would be broken by Zhuzhou's tail, fist, knife, claw, or breath, and roll around in the void and chaos in embarrassment several times.
If the goal could be achieved, this embarrassment was just a strategic retreat.
But just now, Deus, who thought that the rejection force was almost enough, found that the Symphony resounding from within the world contained a very strange intent.
