Chapter 209: Chapter 209: If Not for This Child (1)

Raina tensed up instantly upon hearing the words, her peripheral vision scanning the surroundings, quickly planning her escape route in her mind.

But, the next second Raina dismissed this idea, Shea and Casper were still at the Hawthorne Family.

"President Hawthorne, what exactly do you want?"

Elias raised an eyebrow, "What I want, don’t you know?"

"I don’t know..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Elias pulled her into his arms.

His handsome face moved towards her, stopping only when their noses touched, their breaths mingling together.

Elias said, "This time, do you know my intentions towards you?"

"Elias Hawthorne..."

"If you still don’t know, I can make it clearer." As his thin lips opened and closed, his hot breath sprayed onto her face, "I want to sleep with you."

Raina’s face turned red at once, especially with the deep, unabashed desire in the man’s eyes that made her unbearable. She pushed him away fiercely like a startled rabbit, jumping far away.

The empty feeling in his arms made Elias uncomfortable, he pursued: "Do you understand this time?"

Raina: "..."

"Seems like you didn’t understand." Saying this, he took a step closer to Raina.

Raina hurriedly stepped back: "I understand!"

"Really understand?"

"Really."

"What a pity." Elias’s expression turned regretful all of a sudden. How could she understand? If she didn’t, he could continue, letting Raina understand slowly.

Raina: "..."

This damned man!

Raina took a deep breath: "That lady is in a bad condition, I must stay with her tonight. After all, I startled her, if she’s not well, I won’t be at ease."

Seeing Raina serious, Elias did not insist: "I’ll join you."

Raina originally wanted to refuse, but seeing Elias’s determined attitude, she swallowed back the words that reached her lips: "Whatever makes you happy."

After saying this, she turned and entered the hospital room.

Elias watched Raina’s back, determination shining in his eyes.

The next day.

The brilliant sunlight shone in through the glass window, casting a golden glow inside the room.

The slender young woman lying on the bed softly moaned and then slowly opened her eyes.

She stared at the plain white ceiling, her eyes filled with confusion.

Once she realized what had happened, her face suddenly changed, instinctively reaching to touch her belly.

"Don’t worry, your child is fine."

The young woman’s expression relaxed.

She looked over upon hearing the voice, seeing Raina stepping out of the morning light, and froze at the sight.

Such a beautiful girl.

Raina walked over to the bedside, gently asking, "Miss, do you feel any discomfort?"

The young woman shook her head, "I’m fine."

"How could you be fine?" Raina’s expression was serious, "Do you know the child almost couldn’t be saved yesterday?"

If she hadn’t stayed up all night, the child in the belly might not have been saved.

But speaking of that, if she hadn’t been absent-minded, allowing the car to plow into the crosswalk, this might not have happened.

Raina lowered her head in apology: "I carelessly startled you yesterday."

"This is indeed your fault. But the child in the belly isn’t your fault, it has nothing to do with you."

Several days prior, she already felt discomfort in her belly, and yesterday when going out, the pain was even severe, yet she paid no mind.

On the contrary, she harbored a secret thought in her heart, wishing the child in her belly would cease to exist.
