Chapter 330: Claire North’s Despair (2)

Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Claire North’s Despair (2)

Claire North finally understood what it means to be completely defenseless.

Shouldn’t it be Raina North who found herself in this predicament?

She couldn’t figure out where things went wrong. Clearly, it was Raina who was full of mistakes, and clearly everyone supported her when she arrived...

Claire North’s gaze fell on Elias Hawthorne standing behind Raina.

Was it because of him?

Because Elias Hawthorne backed Raina.

Yet ironically, it was Claire who had handed Elias over to Raina.

Jealousy and regret surged in her heart.

"Miss North, please come with us to the police station."

Handcuffs snapped on her wrists, and Claire North panicked: "I didn’t poison anyone, I really didn’t..."

Claire North rushed to Elias, wanting to approach him, but was blocked by Aidan Lynch.

"Elias, save me. I’m Baby’s mom, you can’t just watch me get taken away..."

Outside, there were still heaps of reporters waiting, and originally, these were meant for Raina.

However, all Elias Hawthorne gave her was a cold turn of the back.

Claire North was forcibly taken away, and as soon as she stepped out, the blinding flash of spotlights made her unmistakably exposed.

After Claire was taken away, the reception room plunged into an eerie silence.

The atmosphere was somewhat tense, and everyone was careful even with their breathing.

Elias Hawthorne took off his jacket and wrapped it around Raina, then turned to look at his grumpy father.

"Mr. Hawthorne, please."

Vincent Hawthorne instantly flared up with anger, storming off without a backward glance, following the police.

Susan Kensington fell behind, casting a complex glance at Raina: "You surely have quite the means, Miss North."

"Average, just luck," Raina genuinely retorted, disdainful of her nominal mother-in-law for her behind-the-scenes scheming, sending others to fight first.

"Then I wish you continued good luck."

"Wouldn’t you be crying in the bathroom then?" Raina raised an eyebrow in reply.

Susan Kensington said nothing, quickly catching up to the police car.

Clearly, it was an unrestful night.

Yet Raina didn’t feel sorry for them; after all, when you play, you need to be able to afford losing.

The ones who should be caught were caught, those who should leave had left; the show was over, and Raina needed to catch up on her beauty sleep.

Just as she moved slightly, someone picked her up by the waist.

"...Elias Hawthorne, what are you doing?"

Elias gave her a deep look, his mysterious eyes like an unfathomable sea: "You’re weak."

Raina: "..." She was strong enough to kill an ox.

"I can walk by myself." Raina struggled to get down.

"Don’t move," Elias said, "Someone’s here."

Raina looked up, indeed seeing some police approaching.

Instantly, she pretended to be weak, leaning into Elias’s arms; maintaining the persona was crucial.

Once they left, Raina immediately lifted her head.

"Let me down."

"Behave," Elias insisted, refusing to let go, striding towards the parking lot.

Raina was somewhat annoyed, glaring at him: "Mr. Hawthorne, please mind your manners."

Elias looked down at her for two seconds, then nodded: "Yeah, quite heavy actually."

Raina: "..."

Raina was carried aboard a car by Elias, the journey smooth and unobstructed back to The Hawthorne Family estate.

As soon as the car stopped, two little ones were seen running out on their short little legs.

"Mommy!"

"Mommy!"

"Stop!" Elias interrupted the two little ones, who were about to rush onto Raina, as he bent and lifted her from the car.

On the way back, Raina had inadvertently dozed off, now barely awake, still in Elias’s arms.
