Chapter 347: Chapter 347: Three Seconds Means Three Seconds! (Part 1)
Elias Hawthorne laughed.
Aaron Warren saw Elias’s smile and felt a certain pride in his heart.
See, he understood what Elias was thinking.
To a man like Elias, women were just a diversion when bored, no matter how pretty Raina might be.
However, before he could speak again, Elias’s expression suddenly darkened, turning into a snarl: "I never realized you were so bold, Aaron Warren, to meddle in my marriage! Well then, why don’t I just hand over The Hawthorne Family and The Hawthorne Group to you?"
"No... that’s not what I meant... President Hawthorne, I wouldn’t dare covet your position... I was just thinking of you, honestly!"
"Shut up!" Elias shouted mercilessly, then said coldly: "Where is the person in charge of The Veridian Institute of Medicine? Get them over here!"
The vice-curator, who had been silent all this time, heard Elias’s call and had no choice but to come forward immediately: "Pre... President Hawthorne..."
Elias glanced sidelong at him, saying coldly: "It seems I was too lenient last time! Such incompetence representing The Veridian Institute of Medicine, jumping around in front of me, looks like the time of The Institute is over!"
Hearing this, the vice-curator’s legs went weak, he staggered back several steps before maintaining his footing, then rushed forward to plead for mercy.
But, before he could get close to Elias, he was stopped by Aidan Lynch.
Aidan looked at the vice-curator with sympathy: "You should handle the affairs of The Institute properly. In that way, even if you want to plead again, it will be easier to speak up, don’t you think, vice-curator?"
Besides awkwardly thanking, what else could the vice-curator say? However, when he turned his eyes to Aaron, they were red with anger, this troublemaker! The downfall of The Institute had to occur under his watch!
Elias, not bothered to deal with them, walked in front of Raina, just intending to hold her when she swiftly turned and walked inside.
Elias was slightly annoyed, after supporting this woman, not even expecting a passionate kiss, just a sweet smile would do, but she walked away just like that.
Don’t think he won’t get angry and give someone the cold shoulder!
Three seconds!
Such a manly man, saying he’ll give Raina the cold shoulder for three seconds means exactly three seconds, not a second less!
After putting on a show, Elias stepped into the air-conditioned interior where Raina was already wearing special gloves, examining the five deceased patients.
About ten minutes later, Raina finally stopped what she was doing.
Elias asked, "How is it?"
Raina frowned, "They were poisoned."
Elias’s expression turned slightly grim, "It seems someone really is trying to undermine The Hawthorne Family!"
Hearing this, Raina glanced at Elias, "It’s clear they were targeting me."
Elias squeezed Raina’s wrist, saying as if it was obvious, "You’re my wife, a rightful member of The Hawthorne Family."
Raina couldn’t help but roll her eyes, paused, then asked, "Aren’t you worried it was my mistake?"
"No, there’s no way you could make a mistake," Elias answered without any hesitation, utterly confident.
"Not afraid of being proven wrong, huh?" Saying this, Raina’s expression improved considerably.
She had to admit that Elias’s trust made her feel good.
Elias: "Raina, you’re sure there were no issues in the pharmaceutical process?"
"I just checked the surveillance footage; no issues. The finished medicine wasn’t problematic either."
"So, it seems the problem was with the medicine these people took before they died."
Raina looked at Elias: "Quick thinking."
Elias chuckled, "Thank you for the compliment, dear."
Raina, for some reason, felt her face get a little warm and glared at him.
