Chapter 540: Chapter 540: Promised to Our Alliance Hierarch (2)
Just as he spoke, the members of The Willows had already gathered around, each beaming with joy.
Being able to establish a connection with The Celestial Alliance has always been their dream, haven’t they? Now that the opportunity is right in front of them, and it’s the Alliance Hierarch of The Celestial Alliance they would be clinging onto, they’d be crazy not to agree.
The elder watched The Willows’ joyful expressions, feeling a tinge of bitterness in his heart, but a plan formed in his mind as his eyes shifted.
Raina North, of course, heard their conversation but didn’t deny it. Even if she were beastly, she had no designs on a kid like White. This relationship could instead protect The Willows and the child.
Lune was even more unbothered. No matter how many male pets Orion had, Orion was still his brother. He couldn’t wait any longer and said, "Orion, let’s go back."
Raina North didn’t want to return and deflected, "I have some personal matters to handle. It’s not too late to go back after dealing with them."
Lune was not intending to let it go: "Orion, even if you have the world’s grandest matters to attend to, you have to return to The Celestial Alliance first. Our brothers have been waiting for you for a long time."
The elder also said, "Alliance Hierarch, please return. Our... our Celestial Alliance’s situation hasn’t been good for the past two years, internally it’s been falling apart, and urgently needs you to take charge. The Celestial Alliance is the result of all our hard work, and surely you don’t want to see it swallowed by other guilds."
The elder had spoken to this extent, leaving Raina North unable to ignore it any longer.
Before leaving with Lune and the others from The Celestial Alliance, Raina North approached the Family Head of The Willows to bid farewell: "Take care, we shall meet again."
Raina North got into the car and sat in the back seat with Jonah Rivers and Lune.
Even as the car started moving, Lune kept staring at her, as if she would sprout wings and fly away at any moment.
Jonah Rivers watched with his arms crossed, a face full of schadenfreude.
Raina North gave Jonah Rivers a stern look, thinking he better not fall into her hands!
The car proceeded on its way and after about half a day, entered another city.
The view before them became increasingly prosperous, with bustling crowds and endless streams of traffic, every spot exuding vitality.
This was one of the largest cities in The Umbral Zone, Aethelgard, not only home to The Tribunal’s headquarters but also where the family estates of The Six Great Families are located.
Its prosperity can surpass the capital of any country in the outside world, and more importantly, its area is also enormously large.
Raina North looked at this place she had left four years ago, her expression a bit nostalgic, she had finally returned.
After another half hour, the convoy stopped in front of a towering skyscraper.
Massive golden letters emblazoned the words The Celestial Alliance on the main structure of the skyscraper.
This was the infamous... no, the illustrious headquarters of The Celestial Alliance in The Umbral Zone.
Lune got out first and personally opened the car door: "Orion, we’re home."
The elder watched Raina North step out of the car, smiling as he spoke, "Alliance Hierarch, everyone is waiting for you in the alliance, they’re bound to be thrilled to see you."
Raina North withdrew her gaze, a smile playing across her lips: "I’m also very glad to see everyone."
This was a sincere sentiment from Raina North.
Although her reason for leaving was being tired of life here and wanting to avoid everyone upon returning to The Umbral Zone, the events that transpired and the people she met here still remained one of the most vivid colors in her memory, and were one of the most significant parts of her life.
