"Pretty Nation is likely in for trouble," someone mused.
The others exchanged glances, sighing in unison. Previously, they might have considered things from Pretty Nation's perspective.
But after learning that Pretty Nation had been raising the Blood Ancestor, that thought was entirely gone.
With the gods descending, would humanity's future be easy? The answer was obvious, even to the dullest mind.
"What are you all blabbering about!"
"Hurry up and let us go."
"We can plead with the main god on your behalf then, otherwise, the main god will surely destroy you!"
Just then, the few people Ao Yuan had injured and left incapacitated saw Ao Yuan leave and tried to struggle free. Finding they couldn't, they turned their attention to the leaders of the nations. Before Ao Yuan arrived, the leaders of the nations had been quite fearful of them. Now that Ao Yuan was gone, they figured it shouldn't be a problem. That's what they thought, anyway.
However, the outcome was entirely different from their expectations.
The continuous cries of pain attracted the attention of the leaders and warriors of the nations. They looked at each other silently, then Elder Long stepped forward and said directly, "Uh... let's tie them up first."
"Then let's see what else we can get out of them."
Upon receiving the order, the warriors of the nations stepped forward.
"Hey, hey, we are servants of the main god, don't do anything rash!"
"Aren't you afraid of the main god?"
"If the main god really shows up, you'll all be begging for mercy on your knees."
Hearing their words, the warriors of the nations had remained silent.
"What are you making so much noise about? You're about to be prisoners, and you're still so arrogant?"
As their taunts became more outrageous, a warrior from one nation couldn't help but punch one of them. The clamor instantly stopped. The figures, pinned down and unable to move, seemed utterly surprised that these people dared to hit them. They were, after all, servants of the main god, and the humans of Blue Star were mere ants in their eyes.
"You dare to hit me?"
"Who gave you the guts? Die!"
The person roared in fury, instinctively trying to stand up and attack the warrior. The warrior's expression shifted slightly, and he retreated warily, fearing an attack.
However, in the next second, everyone froze.
They saw that he wanted to attack, but he couldn't even stand up. Let alone fight.
"Hahahaha!"
Seeing this, the worried warriors of the nations burst into laughter.
"What are you laughing at!"
"What right do you have to laugh?"
"If you have the guts, release us, and I'll tear you to shreds!"
"Yes, well said! If you have the guts, release us!"
The piercing laughter made them lose face, and they all spoke up. The response they received was simple. Realizing they were no longer capable of fighting back, the warriors clenched their fists and struck them repeatedly.
Soon, they were all bruised and swollen. While it didn't cause significant injury, it silenced them, and they dared not speak anymore. They could only bluster, but blustering only led to more beatings. Since that was the case, why continue? They weren't masochists.
The noisy commotion gradually subsided. After the warriors of the nations took away the few survivors, they began to clean up the battlefield. Then, led by the leaders of the nations, they began to investigate the rift in the void, wanting to understand what was happening.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the rift.
Zeus had gathered dozens of people, quietly waiting for the rift to open. Not a single person spoke, nor did they emit any aura of pressure. Yet, the air seemed to have solidified, carrying an indescribable sense of oppression.
"Main God, look!"
At this moment, a sudden voice broke the silence. Everyone was startled and followed the direction of his finger. It was a crack in the void. It looked no different from before, but they could clearly sense that the rift, which had been opening at an extremely slow pace, was now slowly closing. Although the closing speed was slow, if left unchecked, the rift would eventually seal itself.
Instantly, everyone's expressions darkened, and wisps of terrifying energy inadvertently leaked out. At this moment, waves of pressure surged forth. Fortunately, there was no one nearby. If this were on Blue Star, the mere aura emanating from them would be enough to make nearby people kneel in submission.
"What's going on?" someone near Zeus asked.
Zeus, with his eyes half-closed, remained silent. After a long while, as if recalling something, he suddenly said, "Try to sense the presence of your subordinates."
Zeus's words made everyone seem to realize something. They closed their eyes and began to sense the presence of their subordinates in their hearts.
Soon, several people's eyes widened, their gazes filled with shock.
"I can't sense the presence of my subordinates."
As one person spoke, the crowd below erupted in a chorus of exclamations.
"Me neither!"
"I can't sense them anymore. It's as if just now, their presence completely vanished."
"I can still faintly sense it, but their aura is very weak."
As everyone described their individual perceptions, a complete silence fell over them. By now, they all understood that their subordinates had likely been attacked. What surprised them was that annihilating all of them was no easy feat. Many wondered in their hearts if they themselves could have annihilated this group in such a short time. The answer was clear; eliminating them all was no simple task.
"It must have been the strong individuals from Blue Star who annihilated them," Zeus said, breaking the silence, his voice a deep breath.
"We must seek an explanation for this."
"Of course, the priority now is to open the Heavenly Road ahead of schedule."
Zeus's words were met with agreement. Seeing this, Zeus let out a deep roar, and an immense power surged forth, striking the rift forcefully. The others, seeing this, also began to use their respective powers.
Opening the Heavenly Road from the outside and opening it from within Blue Star presented a hundredfold difference in difficulty. If possible, opening it from within Blue Star would be far better. However, there was no other way now. They could only proceed like this. It might consume more energy, but at least it was better than waiting here. If they waited, it was anyone's guess how many years it would take for the Heavenly Road to open to a point where they could travel to Blue Star.
