Chapter 162: Chapter 108-109:
"Luo Ye!"
With Mr. Ma’s shout, everyone was even more stunned. Luo Ye was known for being physically strong, with stable and powerful serves and receptions. What was this supposed to mean?
Luo Ye ran to Mr. Ma’s side with a calm expression, allowing Mr. Ma to look her over. "Teacher Liang said you’re physically very weak, but it doesn’t seem like it now, does it? Forget it, you may go back."
Luo Ye rolled her eyes, definitely on purpose. With the running and volleyball practice, they must have noticed long ago she was no fragile girl. Darn it, what did they really mean?
During the break, everyone finally understood Mr. Ma’s intentions. Seven girls and five boys from class, who were less athletic and weaker physically, were organized to run on the playground during every afternoon break. It was a clear threat: they could opt out, but Mr. Ma would certainly be ’realistic’ about their PE grades!
This rule caused an uproar, especially for the senior year students who were fighting against the clock. Skipping PE class was looked forward to for easing the stress of studying every now and then, but running every afternoon felt excessive, didn’t it?
Naturally, there were those who took pleasure in others’ misfortune. These twelve students were all top performers academically. Could this mean there was hope to catch up with them?
Mr. Ma looked at the time and gestured with his hands to calm everyone down: "I know you must be dissatisfied with my rule, or maybe you think I’m the new PE teacher trying to show off. How about this: after these twelve students practice for a month, if you still think I’m being unreasonable, we’ll stop, deal?"
Wang Shanshan raised her hand: "Teacher, I’m guessing, you believe that a good physical condition is necessary for good study, right? But I’ve always been like this and I’m one of the top three in class, is this really necessary?"
"No denying, the pressure of senior year is immense, and I’ve been through it myself. But let me share a statistic with you; decide for yourselves whether to follow my advice. Many of my high school classmates who disliked sports now suffer from lumbar, shoulder, and cervical diseases, and they’re only in their 20s. Think about spending the rest of your life in pain, isn’t that concerning?
Most schools don’t value PE, thinking it’s a waste of time, but in reality, what can you accomplish without a strong body, whether before or after graduation?
This PE class was fought for by yours truly, and for it, I’ve angered some teachers. Some threatened to report me. If you’re not satisfied with me, go ahead and report me too, you’ll kill two birds with one stone. However, I stand by my principle. Class dismissed!"
Watching Mr. Ma leave with a dramatic gesture, the students exchanged looks, then turned unanimously to Tang Luo. Tang Luo caught on after a brief moment of surprise, left a few people to tidy up the sports equipment, and led the rest back to the classroom.
Back in the classroom, Xing Nong poked Luo Ye: "That teacher is quite interesting, I like him. What do you think, will we be able to stick with PE class?"
"I don’t know." Luo Ye shook her head. She had to admit that the teacher was far-sighted, but whether it could remain consistent, she wasn’t sure.
Pan Fang joined in, "Mr. Ma is quite stubborn. He was the top of his class and could have gone to Beijing University or Qinghua University, but because his best friend had to leave school for health reasons, he resolved to become a PE teacher and attended Beijing Sports University. After graduating, he wanted to be a middle school PE teacher, but the leaders thought it was a waste and assigned him to high school instead."
"Luo Ye, you could be called the gossip," said Luo Ye jokingly.
"Hehe, funnily enough, Mr. Ma and my family are neighbors. His parents often visit my home. Mr. Ma had a girlfriend in college whose parents were quite influential. They wanted to arrange a job for Mr. Ma in Beijing after graduation, but he insisted on returning here. The girl’s parents were furious and forced her to break up with him. Ah, when Mr. Ma’s parents talk about it, they cry out of anger." Pan Fang smacked her lips, "I’ve seen that girl; not too pretty, but pretty gentle and easy to get along with."
Xing Nong let out a sigh, "Ah, this teacher... his intentions are good, but he’s a bit too stubborn, and personal power is limited, after all."
Luo Ye sighed softly and said nothing more. Regarding this Mr. Ma, she didn’t have much of an impression, and she figured he wouldn’t last long at the school. Even if the students didn’t mind him, the teachers would find a way; everyone knew that.
...
"Boss, have you been too tired lately? Look, two strands of white hair have emerged on your head." Qian Mei massaged Liu Zhengxing’s head, her voice seductively sweet.
"You only say nice things, two strands? More like two hundred strands," Liu Zhengxing pushed Qian Mei away, "Okay, you may leave, I have things to do."
"Yes, boss," Qian Mei obediently left, and just at the door, she bumped into Liu Song intentionally, then swayed her hips as she exited and closed the door.
"Did you find out everything?" Liu Zhengxing looked at his eldest son, rubbing his temples wearily.
Liu Song nodded, "Yes, Wen Xin’s family is indeed that one. However, it’s a bit strange that the two families don’t seem to interact much."
"They’re probably avoiding suspicion; otherwise, they wouldn’t have kept it secret from us for so many years. I guess Luo Zhenggang wanted to save face and that’s why he sought my help last time? Regardless, let’s change the plan, and proceed with caution, got it?" Liu Zhengxing handed Liu Song a bag, "Take a good look, in case anything happens to me one day, you can protect yourself and take care of Mom and your brother."
"Dad..."
Liu Zhengxing waved him off, "Go on out, I need to think about what’s next."
"Should we let her in?" Liu Song hesitated before asking.
"No need, she’s been doing poorly lately, can’t even control a little girl, it’s not her style. Find out more from her," Liu Zhengxing’s eyes gleamed, "If there’s an issue, deal with it quickly."
"Dad..."
"How have I taught you all this while?"
"I understand, Dad," with his father’s gaze upon him, Liu Song’s back was covered in cold sweat, and he quickly left.
Hiding in the bathroom, Qian Mei took off her earphones, biting her lips tightly...
