Chapter 850: Welcome to Genesis

Theo adjusted the rearview mirror of his SUV. He was driving east on Elm Street, the morning sun glinting off the chrome. Friday morning. Spring in Elffire City meant a light haze hung in the air, softening the edges of the skyscrapers. The radio, tuned to a news station specializing in entertainment, crackled with updates on the latest anime releases. Theo mostly ignored this, his attention focused on the segment detailing the upcoming release of "TitanRise V," a game heavily influencing his own upcoming project, at least he thought so. Even though he hadn’t even started producing the game, Theo had already started getting worried about it. He tapped the steering wheel lightly in time with the upbeat music playing between news segments.

This time, Theo would produce a game on his own without much help from the system, which made him a little nervous. But he was confident that he could produce a decent game with all the resources he had at his disposal. Internally, a slight knot of anxiety tightened in Theo’s stomach. He replayed his to-do list mentally to verify if everything was ready.

With the financial capacity that Theo had and with Sam managing things, they managed to create a game studio with top-tier excellence. For example, Theo rented the most advanced Game Engine on the market for at least 10 years, and he even paid extra to gain access to the top-tier features. Sam also managed to rent a modern 5-store building where they filled it with top-of-the-art computers, servers, game machines, and many other things that a top game studio needed to produce a game.

All in all, Theo invested millions just in the infrastructure of the game studio. And the studio was practically ready to start working last Monday, but because Theo was focusing on the Anime Debut, he decided to leave these days for the new employees of the game studio to get used to the environment and the structure of the game studio.

But now that his Anime Debut was in the past, Theo immediately scheduled a meeting with all the new employees of the game studio.

Theo and Sam hired over 300 people to work on this new project. Among them were talents like the ones Theo discovered at the anime con, but most of them were people who had worked in other game studios before; in other words, people with experience. Sam also hired a few talented people fresh off college.

300 people might seem a lot of people to produce one video game, but a team of this size was already small in the current game industry. But Theo wanted to start small; he didn’t want to hire too many people that he couldn’t manage. Especially because he hasn’t found a person to be the manager of this game studio yet.

When Theo opened his Animation Studio, he had Ryoko’s help, but now he was still looking for a person to assume the management of this newly founded game studio.

The SUV turned onto Oak Avenue, passing rows of neatly kept houses. The radio transitioned to a discussion about the latest superhero movie franchise. Theo unconsciously increased the volume, although the commentary held little interest. He was mentally preparing his opening speech for the team meeting; he had already decided which game from Earth he wanted to bring to this world. But he was a little nervous about presenting the idea to a group of experts while he was a complete novice about game production. Although his experience in anime production helped, it still wasn’t the same thing. He pulled into the parking lot of the newly rented studio space – a modern and trendy building in a slightly less affluent part of the city.

[GENESIS GAMES INC.]

This was the stylish sign in front of the building.

The building had all the facilities, staff, and things necessary to operate. And since it technically was open for over 4 days, the people inside were already getting used to working here.

While Theo parked his car, the 300 new employees gathered in the biggest conference room of the new building. Everyone arrived early as they were anxious to get to know their boss, and mostly, they wanted to know what project they would work on first.

They were curious because when they received the proposition to leave their original workplaces to work here, they were surprised by the amount of money this game studio was offering them.

Some of them had over 10 years of experience, so Sam had to offer a big and advantageous offer for them to leave their jobs in other cities and move to Elffire City.

Theo arrived at the studio, and the 300 new employees of Genesis Games Inc. were gathered in the spacious conference room, a buzz of anticipation filling the air. The team comprised a diverse range of individuals, from industry veterans to fresh college graduates, all united by their passion for game development and the allure of being part of something innovative.

The employees’ conversations reflected their excitement and curiosity about their first project. Some discussed their hopes for creating a groundbreaking AAA title that would push the boundaries of gaming, while others speculated about the possibility of developing a smaller-scale indie game that would captivate players with its unique story and gameplay.

"I heard the boss had an animation studio," one employee remarked, recalling Theo’s successful animation studio. "Maybe our first project will involve adapting a popular anime series into a video game. That would be an exciting challenge."

"Maybe, but I heard from some people who actually met the boss. And it seems that he plans to produce a big game." Another one replied.

During these days without work, they managed to get to know each other, so everyone had good relations with each other.

Plus, during these last few days, they managed to get to know all the amazing facilities of the game studio, and they loved how high-tech it was. Although the game studio was located in a normal building, the game studio structure was that of a super studio with millions of dollars in investment. And everyone would be excited to work in such a potential workplace where they could work at their best.

The room was filled with sound, with excited discussions, when suddenly a silver-haired man entered the place accompanied by some people.

Even though most of them didn’t know him, the man exuded confidence and respect.

When he stopped in front of all of them, everyone stopped talking.

With a smile, "Good morning, everyone. My name is Theodore Gray, and I’ll be your boss from now on. I’d like to say welcome to all of you. Welcome to Genesis," Theo said with a brilliant smile.
