An Nuan felt extreme disgust just seeing Shen Xizhou, hearing his voice.
She had thought that in this lifetime, she would never have to meet Shen Xizhou again.
Yet, when Shen Xizhou stood before her once more, her face turned extremely unsightly.
She hadn't expected Shen Xizhou to still appear before her, and in such an accusatory manner.
"Heh, An Nuan, do you really think you can just act like nothing happened after injuring Ruowei so severely?"
An Nuan looked at Shen Xizhou helplessly and asked coldly, "Then, Mr. Shen, what more do you want?"
"It's obvious to anyone with eyes who is right and who is wrong in this matter. Mr. Shen, if you continue to pursue this, it will be hard to say who will end up losing face."
"An Nuan, are you threatening me? Do you really think that with Nangong Jin by your side, I won't dare to touch you?"
"Can you guarantee Nangong Jin will always be there to protect you? There will always be times when Nangong Jin can't get to you."
Just as Shen Xizhou was about to make a move on An Nuan, Nangong Jin reappeared.
He looked extremely worried. He had been deeply concerned when he couldn't find An Nuan, and became even more frantic upon learning that Shen Xizhou had taken her away. Her injuries had not yet healed, and Shen Xizhou had taken her again. An Nuan's body could no longer withstand Shen Xizhou's torment.
Seeing that An Nuan was unharmed, Nangong Jin was finally somewhat relieved.

An Nuan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Xu Ruowei lay in bed, basking in the adulation of everyone around her. Most importantly, even her parents had come. She remembered clearly the heartless words her parents had spoken when Shen Xizhou had abandoned her.
Her parents had come simply because they wanted her to forgive them.
However, no matter what they said, she would not agree. Of course, she wouldn't refuse either. She would just let the matter linger.
She wanted everyone to know that even if she was in a sorry state, she would stand up again in no time.

After those people left and the door was closed, just as Xu Ruowei was about to happily go rest, the door made a sound, as if someone else was coming.
Xu Ruowei's brow furrowed, her eyes filled with deep displeasure. Hadn't she told those people to leave? Why were they back? Didn't they know how annoying they were?
Xu Ruowei cursed these malicious thoughts under her breath, but the moment she turned around and saw An Nuan, she completely lost her composure.
She had asked for An Nuan to be invited, but she hadn't expected An Nuan to arrive so soon.
Had she known An Nuan would come so early, she would never have uttered those malicious words.
When she noticed An Nuan's gaze filled with profound contempt, Xu Ruowei could no longer remain calm. This was too embarrassing for her.
She had always compared herself to An Nuan, and now, she was so utterly humiliated.
She glared fiercely at An Nuan, placing all the blame on her.
Yes, it was definitely An Nuan's fault. She had done it deliberately. She had appeared earlier but had chosen not to make a sound, instead standing there to listen and watch.
An Nuan did not bother to explain the baseless accusation leveled against her. She knew very well that explaining to Xu Ruowei would be a joke.
Xu Ruowei glared fiercely at An Nuan and shouted angrily, "An Nuan, you were here long ago, weren't you? You deliberately stayed silent, just to see me utterly humiliated, didn't you?" By the end, she was almost hysterical.
The thought of An Nuan witnessing her most humiliating moment made Xu Ruowei scream out loud.

She couldn't accept that An Nuan had seen her at her most embarrassing.
An Nuan watched Xu Ruowei, who was like a madwoman, silently.
When Xu Ruowei looked at An Nuan, she happened to see a smile curl at An Nuan's lips. This further solidified her suspicion that An Nuan was gloating at her expense.
Xu Ruowei pointed at An Nuan and shouted, "An Nuan, don't get too smug. What's wrong? Are you happy to see me humiliated?"
"But even if I'm humiliated, even if I'm wicked, so what? Shen Xizhou still chose me over you. No matter how smug you are, you're a loser. You'll never surpass me."
No matter what Xu Ruowei said, An Nuan remained silent, looking at the person before her as if she were watching a lunatic.
If Xu Ruowei had summoned her just to hear these words, to make her feel bad, then she actually wanted to say that Xu Ruowei would likely be disappointed. These words could not hurt her in the slightest.

"Are you finished?" Seeing that Xu Ruowei had stopped speaking and was glaring at her fiercely.
Xu Ruowei glared at An Nuan. When she wanted to speak, she realized that she had already said every vicious word she could think of. She could no longer find anything to slander An Nuan with.
Seeing Xu Ruowei's frustrated expression, An Nuan felt much better.
