Chapter 127 He Misunderstood Again

"Ji Wenyun, I don't know what you want from me, or how you intend to deal with me for Xia Wanqing."

An Nuan looked at the person before her with a cold gaze, her eyes filled with sinister light, and she directly widened the distance between them.

Ji Wenyun had saved her, so it must have been deliberate.

Besides, his claim of saving her did not inspire much belief.

Perhaps, he was the one responsible for those things.

"An Nuan, saving you wasn't because I felt I owed you anything. It's because I feel you are very familiar. Have we known each other before?"

"Right, you said something similar before. And I retorted to you."

"But now, I feel that what you said actually has a bit of truth to it."

As he spoke, his gaze fell on An Nuan, a slight smile on his face.

"An Nuan, you must know something. Can you tell me?"

Ji Wenyun took An Nuan's hand, as if demanding she speak.

An Nuan frowned. She was genuinely startled by Ji Wenyun's actions.

She didn't know what was wrong with Ji Wenyun, why he had such thoughts, and what he remembered. Was it something from the past?

But all the people she cared about were gone, so Ji Wenyun was no longer that important.

An Nuan shook her head, her eyes filled with coldness and indifference as she looked at Ji Wenyun: "I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know you."

Ji Wenyun didn't believe it. He grabbed An Nuan's shoulders and shook her repeatedly, shouting hysterically, "No, it's impossible."

"You told me about this before, and now you say you haven't. That's impossible, I won't believe you."

An Nuan felt extremely uncomfortable being shaken by Ji Wenyun. Her head ached intensely. She looked at Ji Wenyun and said unhappily, "I was lying to you."

"And didn't you say yourself that you only believe what Xia Wanqing says? You won't believe anything anyone else says."

"Now, aren't the words you're saying now a slap in your own face?"

At this moment, Ji Wenyun didn't believe anything An Nuan said. He hoped to get a different answer from her.

Ji Wenyun suddenly moved closer to An Nuan, pulled her into his embrace, and kept muttering, "I... I remember some things, but I'm not entirely sure."

"An Nuan, tell me, what exactly happened in the past? I really want to know."

An Nuan's eyes were indifferent. She said with extreme calmness, "Ji Wenyun, you want to know, but I don't want to talk about it."

"Those things are long gone. There's no need to bring them up again."

"Let the past remain in the past. Don't continue with it."

An Nuan had let go, but Ji Wenyun couldn't.

He always felt that the memories he had lost were very important.

Ji Wenyun hugged An Nuan tightly, his hand directly gripping her face, forcing her to look him in the eye.

"An Nuan."

A cold voice rang out.

The man directly grabbed her hand and pulled her aside. Shen Xizhou stared at An Nuan intently. He said nothing to her but his eyes were filled with contempt.

He looked at Ji Wenyun standing by the side and said coldly, "Ji Wenyun, you already have Xia Wanqing. Who allowed you to touch An Nuan?"

Shen Xizhou said through gritted teeth, as if he had forgotten that Xu Ruowei was by his side, and his presence here was also inappropriate.

Yet, the people before him didn't seem to realize how wrong his words were.

Ji Wenyun let out a cold sneer, his eyes filled with contempt as he looked at Shen Xizhou.

"Shen Xizhou, when you say that, you should know yourself. You haven't said it out loud."

"When you talk about me, haven't you always had someone by your side?"

"This is between An Nuan and me. What right do you have, an outsider, to stand here and speak?"

"An Nuan is already unrelated to you."

The two men were arguing over An Nuan.

The scene before them made An Nuan feel extremely ridiculous.

The two men were the ones who had hurt her the most, and they each had people they wanted to protect. Yet now they were arguing over her, each convinced they were right.

It was truly somewhat amusing.

The two men then started fighting each other.

An Nuan had originally wanted to leave, but she thought that if something unpleasant happened because of her, then she would truly be a sinner.

After much thought, she finally stepped forward.

She stood in the middle, ultimately shielding Ji Wenyun behind her, and looked coldly at Shen Xizhou: "Shen Xizhou, please leave here."

"You have no business here."

"And I am already completely unrelated to you."

"Anyone has the right to stand here and speak, but you are the least qualified."

"Don't forget, my current state is all thanks to you. You wouldn't have forgotten that, would you?"

An Nuan said coldly.

Shen Xizhou was too ruthless. She worried that he might do something to harm Ji Wenyun.

Even though Ji Wenyun had hurt her, they had known each other. She didn't want anything to happen to Ji Wenyun.

Shen Xizhou's eyes were filled with cold light upon hearing An Nuan's words, wishing he could strangle the person before him.

She was fine, not standing on his side to speak for him. Instead, she was standing with Ji Wenyun, speaking for Ji Wenyun.

Shen Xizhou was radiating with anger.

His gaze fell on An Nuan, seeing her shielding Ji Wenyun behind her, looking at him warily. He was filled with rage.

Facing Shen Xizhou's sarcastic and disgusted gaze, An Nuan knew he had misunderstood her again.

However, if he misunderstood, then let him misunderstand.

He had already misunderstood so many things, so one more or one less wouldn't matter.

Honestly, if he misunderstood, it might even be a good thing, as he wouldn't pester her anymore.

But she knew herself that her relationship with Ji Wenyun was pure. She wouldn't care too much about what others thought.

If it were in the past, she wouldn't have defended Ji Wenyun. Perhaps she would have explained something.

But now, she felt it was truly unnecessary.

For such a person, it was truly not worth it.

He had never believed her, so no matter how much she explained, it would be useless.

If he didn't believe, then he didn't believe.

No matter how much she said, he wouldn't believe.
