Chapter 13 Three People

"Not a staff member? Don't be ridiculous. Help me find a way out, and I'll give you two thousand!" the woman upped the ante.

"How did you get in here?" Li Cheng颐 didn't respond to her request but instead questioned her.

"I don't know." The woman's brow furrowed with agitation and unease. "I just finished shopping, took the elevator down to the garage to drive home, and when I came out, I realized this garage wasn't the mall's."

"The elevator? Is the elevator still there?" Li Cheng颐's eyes lit up, and he quickly asked. If he could follow the path the woman took to get in, perhaps he could also go back...

"I don't know!" The woman clutched her injured jacket tighter, a look of fear on her face. "I looked back, but I couldn't see it anymore. I took the service elevator; the door was huge. It shouldn't be like this... it should be obvious, easy to find..."

"Did you have any premonitions?" Seeing this, Li Cheng颐 could roughly discern the woman's situation.

"Premonitions? Are you talking about the dream I had before?" The woman asked, slightly puzzled.

"A dream..." Li Cheng颐 was speechless. The woman had clearly not taken the previous signs seriously and thought it was just a dream.

He thought for a moment and slowly explained what he knew about the Dead Angle.

As he continued to explain, the woman's expression became increasingly impatient.

Until Li Cheng颐 mentioned the appearance of a two-meter-tall monster with a human face, she finally couldn't hold back.

"I'm sorry, but I'm serious. Has anyone ever told you that your stories are interesting, but now is not the time to tell them?"

"I know about the rumors of the Dead Angle, but those are just false legends. As I see it, the so-called Dead Angle is more like a survival experiment game conducted in secret. Okay, now is not the time to talk about this."

She held out her hand, fingers spread.

"Five thousand, take me out of here, what do you say?"

"..." Li Cheng颐 said nothing. He thought about it and made a gesture of invitation.

There was no point in talking to this person. He probably wouldn't believe the Dead Angle really existed until he saw it with his own eyes.

"Ten thousand!" The woman said seriously again. "Don't be too greedy. This place is just a bit big. If I find it myself, you won't earn any of this money!"

"You can try," Li Cheng颐 said, glancing again at the small maintenance room door where the monster had just appeared.

"Also, that monster came out of these small doors. Here's a piece of advice: don't touch these maintenance room doors. If you see a door open, run."

He knew very well that he couldn't waste any time. He didn't know when the Language of Flowers ability would fail, and once it did, it would be very difficult to stabilize the situation as he had just done.

Immediately, without another word, he picked up his things and walked in the direction the woman had come from.

Since the woman said she came down from above, then he would go up and take a look!

"Hey!" The woman in black didn't expect him to run off, and she took two steps to chase him, but her heavy platform shoes hindered her running. After a few steps, she could only watch Li Cheng颐 disappear around the corner.

"Is he crazy? Running so fast!?" She stood in place, reaching out to support a pillar, panting.

Looking around, the surroundings became deserted again, quiet and deathly still.

The woman stood alone by the stone pillar, her heart pounding once more.

But before she could wait long, Li Cheng颐's figure reappeared around the corner not far away.

He had just gone up another level to check the situation above, but he hadn't found the elevator the woman mentioned. Instead, he found even higher levels of winding paths.

He didn't dare to continue. Who knew how many floors this place had.

So he quickly returned. At least there was a living person here; being together would provide some peace of mind.

Seeing the woman leaning against a pillar in the distance, muttering and swearing, he didn't know what she was saying. He quickened his pace and walked closer.

"Let's go together, let's find a way out together." Li Cheng颐 didn't waste any words and spoke directly.

"You really don't know the exit?" The woman asked in surprise. Only now did she notice the man's appearance.

Black hair, black eyes, with two faint streaks of blood flowing from the corners of his eyes, making him look a little frightening.

His figure was a bit thin, but he gave off a sense of stability. He was carrying a bag of things, and through the translucent bag, she could see that they were all food and water.

This man seemed to be prepared!

A hint of speculation flashed in the woman's eyes. But soon, this hint of speculation turned into a slight horror.

Because she saw the knife held upside down in his hand!

In the empty underground parking lot at night, a young man with blood streaks in his eyes, holding a bag in one hand and a knife in the other, stood in front of her, looking at her calmly.

Almost all the elements of a horror movie were gathered!

The woman took a few steps back, her face becoming more and more tense.

"Let's cooperate, find the exit as soon as possible, and then leave." Li Cheng颐 was still talking at this time, not noticing the terror his appearance was causing her.

"Stop right there! Assuming... assuming what you said is true, then how do you prove yourself?" At this time, the woman's alarm bells were ringing at their limit.

Prove?

Seeing the woman's retreating movements, Li Cheng颐 looked down at himself and immediately realized that the woman had misunderstood.

He thought for a moment, reached out and took out his phone, turned it on, and looked at the time.

"It's nine twelve now. I was probably pulled into this damn place more than half an hour ago. I was taking a walk in the small park at the time. I bought a lot of snacks to stock up.

You don't have to be afraid. My eyes were injured after encountering a monster just now. It's just an external injury; it shouldn't be a big problem..."

Speaking of the end, he was also unsure.

"Really?" The woman squeezed out a smile, but she was still retreating, and only after pulling away more than ten meters did she stop, watching Li Cheng颐 warily.

"Listen, with two people, we can take turns resting, to guard against the appearance of any monsters around." Li Cheng颐 said in a deep voice.

He sincerely hoped to persuade this woman. It was too tiring to keep an eye on the surroundings by himself.

He was already having a hard time, feeling his eyes dry, and waves of fatigue and drowsiness surged up.

If someone could help him watch out, giving him ten minutes, no, five minutes!

Even just five minutes of rest would allow him to recover a lot!

And what puzzled him was, didn't this woman encounter any abnormalities when she was foreshadowed to come in? He had encountered a human-faced monster the second time he came in.

Seeing that the other party was deliberately keeping such a distance from him, he knew that this person didn't believe him yet.

"The shopping bag you're holding is from the Cain Mina Shopping Mall in the city, right? I remember that place. It's the most high-end shopping mall in our Suiyang City. I even played in the Lanyun Silk Park near there when I was a kid. Standing on the top of the highest rockery in the park, you could still see the Colonel Corn model inside Cain Mina."

He spoke of his predecessor's memories, trying to make his expression as gentle as possible.

Colonel Corn was a childhood cartoon that many people of their age had seen. The endearing Colonel Corn represented many people's beautiful childhood memories.

Sure enough, hearing him describe it in such detail, the woman's expression gradually softened a little.

Her fear of him was obviously lessening.

"You're also a native of this place? What's your name? You don't have to tell me your real name, just something easy to call you." She thought for a moment and asked.

"Cheng Yi, you can call me Cheng Yi." Li Cheng颐 replied, "What about you?"

"Meng Dongdong." The woman replied. "Okay, I believe you wouldn't lie to me for no reason, but can you put down the knife in your hand first?"

"..." Only then did Li Cheng颐 notice that he was still holding a fruit knife in his hand.

He was too nervous, so his attention wasn't on these details at all.

Putting down the knife, he took a long breath and then took out a wet wipe from his pocket and carefully wiped the blood from his face.

After quickly wiping it clean, he looked up again, looking much more normal.

"Is it better now?"

"Yeah..." Meng Dongdong nodded, her expression also easing up a bit. "Let's check the situation first. You said you've been here for more than half an hour and haven't found an exit, right?"

"Yes."

"Which level did you come up from below?" She asked again.

"The bottom level. About two or three levels below here... but I'm not sure if there will be any changes." Li Cheng颐 replied.

"Okay, let's not talk about monsters or anything; let's just look at the exit." Meng Dongdong took a deep breath, made a gesture, and signaled Li Cheng颐 to listen to her first.

"Generally, the entrance and exit of an underground parking garage are on the top floor, so you're also going up.

But I want to tell you that you won't find an exit by going up." She said in a deep voice.

"Before I met you, I went up five floors in one breath, and they were all the same parking garage environment. That's why I chose to go down to see if I could find a new breakthrough point."

"Then why did you think I was a staff member here?" Li Cheng颐 asked.

"I thought I was kidnapped." Meng Dongdong replied, her expression a little tired.

"Kidnapped?"

"Yeah, some weirdos always like to grab people for experiments for no reason, just like that movie *Elevator*, isn't that the plot?" She replied. "Catching people together, observing and recording what they do to survive."

Li Cheng颐 was speechless.

If he hadn't really encountered a monster, he might have made the same guess as her.

Seeing that Meng Dongdong's emotions had stabilized, he began to slowly talk about some of Suiyang's local customs and public news.

This kind of real-world daily information exchange made Meng Dongdong's emotions more and more stable, and she was no longer terrified and afraid of him.

But in reality, Li Cheng颐 appeared stable on the surface, but the corner of his eye would still occasionally sweep over the small maintenance room door.

Behind that small door was an unknown monster that he had stabilized with the Language of Flowers ability.

Once the ability failed, the monster could rush out of the door at any time and attack living people.

So he was only stable on the outside, but his heart was tense and unable to relax.

After chatting for a while, he felt that Meng Dongdong's emotions had stabilized, but his mental state was getting worse and worse.

Finally, he also brought it up.

"Can you do me a favor? I'll find a place to rest, and you can keep an eye on the surroundings for me, to guard against any approaching monsters!"

"You do look pretty bad." Meng Dongdong frowned. She could also see that this young man named Cheng Yi was very tired, very exhausted.

"How long do you need to rest?" Her words were a tacit agreement that she would help watch over the surroundings.
