Chapter 722 The Eldest Sister Was So Far Away (62)

Lin Yan spent a month in seclusion.

Upon opening her eyes, she exhaled a breath of turbid air. Her body had now recovered seventy percent, though she had suffered consecutive injuries, leaving some hidden wounds within.

Lin Yan poured herself a cup of spiritual spring water, realizing she would need to drink it frequently. After downing the water, she rose and walked out.

She had been in this town for quite some time but had not yet ventured outside. Now that her injuries had somewhat healed, it was the perfect opportunity to take a stroll.

Lin Yan walked through the marketplace, bypassing the shops initially to examine the street stalls.

Blessed by a body of merit's golden light, Lin Yan's luck was excellent. Before long, she discovered quite a few items.

These were mainly refining materials that could be added to her flying sword. Her sword was no longer keeping pace with her cultivation, so she needed to prepare some materials to enhance it.

Beyond that, Lin Yan also spotted many interesting things. Whenever a feeling arose within her, she would simply purchase them.

With Elder Meng San’s private collection, she was not lacking in funds.

As Lin Yan was browsing the stalls, a somewhat familiar figure approached her.

"Fellow daoist, we meet again," the voice was somewhat familiar.

Turning her head, Lin Yan saw the cultivator who had called out to her – it was the guard who had rescued her.

"So it's you, fellow daoist! What a coincidence!" Lin Yan smiled, after all, this person was considered a life-saver.

"Our young master wishes to see you. Please!"

"Your young master?" Lin Yan was somewhat puzzled. She remembered the guard’s expression at the time; he had clearly wanted no association with her. Now, he was actively requesting a meeting, which struck her as very strange.

"My young master is my life-saver. Since he wishes to see me, I will go and meet your young master."

Upon hearing Lin Yan agree, the guard let out a sigh of relief. He had no idea why his young master, who generally disliked meeting outsiders, would want to see this female cultivator, but he had genuinely feared she would refuse to meet him given his previous demeanor.

Lin Yan followed him to the second floor of a teahouse. Upon entering the private room, she realized that the guard seeing her was no coincidence.

The window of this private room faced the street below, and every move she made was within the line of sight of the person by the window.

"Please sit. There's no need to be so formal," the white-robed cultivator said as soon as Lin Yan entered.

"I have yet to express my gratitude for your life-saving grace, senior. Junior Lin Yan pays her respects," Lin Yan could not gauge the strength of this white-robed cultivator, even with her soul power. This meant either the cultivator had reached the Tribulation Stage or possessed a magical artifact that shielded others from divine sense.

Either way, it indicated that the person before her was extraordinary.

He wore a white ceremonial robe, the material of which Lin Yan could not discern, but it was clearly not ordinary. A cloak hung on a nearby rack, and its sheen alone spoke of its fine quality.

A person who could command over a dozen Golden Core stage cultivators as guards could not possibly be simple. There were few individuals in the entire Southeast Region who could achieve such a feat.

"There's no need for such formalities. Sit!" He stepped away from the sunlight by the window, allowing Lin Yan to get a clear view of his indescribably sharp features.

They were like the eternally unmelted snow on a mountaintop, or the aloof, cold, bright moon in the highest heavens. He was beautiful, but his beauty was cold, making one hesitant to approach.

Yet, Lin Yan found a trace of familiarity on his expressionless face.

"May I ask what business you have summoning me, senior?" Lin Yan suppressed her slight surprise.

"Since you are meeting me, Fellow Daoist Lin, shouldn't you be more forthright?" he said, looking at Lin Yan's face.

"You have truly keen eyes." Lin Yan knew what he was referring to. She then took out a handkerchief and wiped her face, revealing her true appearance.

"Have some tea." He personally poured Lin Yan a cup of tea.

"Thank you, senior," Lin Yan felt somewhat overwhelmed by the favor.

"My name is Zi Shu Shao Hao. You may address me by my name."
