Chapter 100 The Substitute of the Transmigrated Female Lead (15)

Fang Zhou looked at Lin Yan’s radiant, fair-skinned face, then thought of her own dark circles.

Fang Zhou felt immense jealousy, but considering her salary and profit share, she felt she could continue to work hard.

However, Lin Yan was truly a woman to be envied to tears. She now understood why Yang Meng had targeted her so fiercely.

Yet, even with such suppression, if Lin Yan was given even a little opportunity, she would still reach the pinnacle.

“That’s all for today! I’ll head back first. Starting tomorrow, I’ll come in for a few days.”

Lin Yan tidied the documents on the desk. These were reports on Xin Chuang’s profits for the quarter.

In reality, Fang Zhou managed Xin Chuang very well. She had always wanted to bring Lin Yan in, primarily to share some of the pressure.

Lin Yan understood Fang Zhou’s intentions, so she was prepared to come in for a few days. After all, she couldn’t always be an absentee owner.

Besides, it was time for her to make an appearance, so Yang Meng would see her.

When Lin Yan left, she descended with Fang Zhou. Although Fang Zhou hadn’t introduced her to everyone,

those who were well-informed had already started inquiring about the woman who left with General Manager Fang Zhou.

As Lin Yan began working, everyone soon realized that Lin Yan was the chairperson of Xin Chuang, the owner of all of Xin Chuang!

“The chairperson is really so young! I heard she had other businesses before, otherwise, how could we be so wealthy!”

“Don’t you think the chairperson is very beautiful! She truly is a winner in life!”

Lin Yan’s arrival caused little significant change at Xin Chuang, apart from private discussions among the employees.

Xin Chuang had its own editorial department and post-production staff, and even its own studios and recording booths.

Xin Chuang was no longer the company that only made money by packaging internet celebrities.

Currently, Xin Chuang had two films in production, three television dramas, and some low-budget web series.

In addition, there were four self-produced variety shows. In the past two years, Xin Chuang had launched quite a few stars.

Although these individuals might not have the same star power as Yang Meng, Xin Chuang’s influence in the entertainment industry was growing, compared to Yang Meng’s solo efforts.

From an internet celebrity company to a significant force in the entertainment industry, Xin Chuang had achieved this transformation in just two to three years.

After Lin Yan started working, many artists finally learned who their real boss was.

However, Lin Yan now deliberately used makeup to conceal her similarities with Yang Meng.

After all, her employees were all in the entertainment industry, and Lin Yan didn’t want to hear people discussing her resemblance to Yang Meng.

“Sister Qin, what should I do? I don’t want to work hard anymore!” a handsome young man in a baseball jacket said to his agent, acting like a spoiled child.

The young man was not very old, his baby face framed by a pair of amorous peach blossom eyes.

When he looked at you, it felt as though you were his entire world.

“What trouble are you stirring up now!”

The woman called Sister Qin, dressed in a black dress with a soft knitted cardigan over it, said sternly.

Although the young man's appearance and tone were meant to soften hearts, Sister Qin was already accustomed to his antics.

Whenever he acted so sweet and spoiled, he would always make excessive demands.

He was her most popular artist, with good acting skills, a likable persona, and high emotional intelligence, so he had garnered countless fans as soon as he debuted.

However, his personality was truly exasperating. But there was nothing she could do; with such a face, no one could truly get angry with him.

“Sister Qin, don’t be like that. I’m really not trying to do anything this time,” the young man said with an appeasing smile.

“Then why are you saying you don’t want to work hard? Your popularity is currently soaring, and this is the time to consolidate your fanbase. I’ve booked you for several variety shows, don’t mess them up for me!”

Sister Qin ignored his attempts to appease her. She knew this person was one who would push his luck; if you conceded an inch, he would advance three.

“I just don’t want to work hard anymore!” Seeing Sister Qin’s expression starting to change, he quickly added,

“Our chairperson is young, beautiful, and rich. Do you think she’d want to keep a young stud, one who can act, sing, and has a college degree?”

He winked his peach blossom eyes at Sister Qin, seemingly seeking her approval.

“Song Minghao, you’re crazy!” Sister Qin glanced around, ensuring no one was near, and whispered-shouted at Song Minghao.

“No, Sister Qin, don’t you think this is a great idea? The chairperson owns all of Xin Chuang. If I were with her, I’d have to struggle for decades less!”

Song Minghao’s eyes were filled with longing and a hidden hint of affection.

“Are you serious?” Sister Qin finally realized something was wrong. If he were joking before, he wouldn’t be probing like this.

“Yes,” Song Minghao’s playful expression vanished.

“Sister Qin, I think I fell in love with her at first sight. If I go and offer myself, do you think she’ll agree?”

“No!” Sister Qin poured a bucket of cold water on him.

“Why not? Am I not good-looking?” Song Minghao turned and picked up a mirror from the table.

“I’m quite good-looking, aren’t I? Among all the men in the company, I’m the best-looking!”

Sister Qin was speechless at his narcissism. Fortunately, this side of him had never been shown to his fans.

However, what he said was true; among all the male artists in the company, arguably no one was better-looking than Song Minghao.

“Let’s not even mention that the chairperson is five years older than you. Even with your current achievements, can you make the chairperson glance at you twice?

Stop thinking about these fanciful things. You’d be better off working hard. Perhaps the chairperson might look at you more if you earn money for her!”

“What’s five years older? I don’t mind! And the chairperson is so rich, even if I worked hard to earn money, I still wouldn’t be able to compare to her!”

Song Minghao seemed unhappy, his lips pouting as he spoke.

“You haven’t even interacted with the chairperson, how do you know she wouldn’t like me? Who doesn’t like someone in their early twenties? My age is just right!”

“You!” Sister Qin didn’t know how to reason with him. Seeing him so completely smitten, she truly couldn’t understand it.

He had only met the chairperson once, and he had become like this. She didn’t recall her artists being so prone to falling in love.

“Sister Qin, I’ve decided to pursue the chairperson. I’m giving you notice, and anyway, Xin Chuang’s contract doesn’t have any clauses prohibiting dating.”

“Fine, when have I ever been able to control you? Just don’t go too far. If you anger the chairperson, our collaboration will be over.”

Sister Qin was helpless against this hot-headed romantic. Let him go and get rebuffed by the chairperson.

Xin Chuang’s contract didn’t restrict dating, but it strictly forbade agents from setting up their artists with anyone.

Because of this stipulation, she felt the chairperson probably wouldn’t be someone who liked exploiting people, so she felt confident about Song Minghao pursuing the chairperson.

Even if the chairperson refused, she probably wouldn’t get angry, but she still had to inform the higher-ups in advance.
