No further incidents occurred after everyone retreated to the bedroom.
However, they could no longer remain in the villa; who knew what else they might encounter if they stayed.
But now Yueyue’s foot was injured, making it impossible for her to walk, and Yifei had not yet woken up. Even if they wanted to leave, they couldn't.
"Aze, this is what I'm thinking," Glasses said to Li Yi Ze. "Da B and I will leave the villa. As long as we can find a place with a signal, we can contact someone to come pick you up."
"I thought the same. Given Yueyue's condition, you can't abandon her. Besides, we don't know if there are other dangers in this villa. You and A Rui staying here can protect them."
Da B didn't mention A Ming. He definitely wouldn't leave. Yifei hadn't woken up yet, so he had to stay and watch over her.
"You two are right. We can't just be trapped in this villa. Thank you for the trouble," Li Yi Ze said. Although he knew they had their own selfish reasons, what they said was also sensible.
Yueyue's current condition made it impossible for her to continue walking. If they could find a place with a signal, they could call for help.
"Then we'll go back and pack some things and go out to find a signal," Glasses said, seeing that Li Yi Ze had agreed to their proposal. He pulled Da B and left.
"Aze, I've dragged you down. Otherwise, you could have left with them."
As long as they could find a signal, they could find someone to pick them up, and they wouldn't have to stay in this house, which held unknown dangers.
"Don't say that. Even if you hadn't fallen, I wouldn't have left with them," Li Yi Ze replied. It was acceptable for only two people to leave, but if they all left, they would surely be stopped by those hidden in the shadows.
"You, you always think too much about others."
Listening to Li Yi Ze's words, Yueyue's heart felt a surge of sweetness. She knew Li Yi Ze's heart was leaning towards her, and she believed that soon, she could replace Lin Yan in his heart.
Glasses and Da B casually packed some water and food, grabbed their power banks and charging cables, slung on their bags, and prepared to leave.
But their departure seemed to anger something. Their room began to shake violently, and cabinets toppled over, nearly crushing them.
Several broken ceramic shards cut their bodies, leaving streaks of blood. They scrambled out of the room and ran down the stairs.
However, as they reached the last step, they missed their footing and tumbled forward.
The shaking of the house also alerted the people downstairs, who saw the two running down and then falling.
"Where are they going?" Lin Yan asked, looking at the bags on their backs. It seemed they were leaving.
"They're going to find a signal. Even if they can't walk out of the mountains to report, they can at least find a place with reception," Li Yi Ze explained.
He didn't continue, but Lin Yan understood. With a signal, they could contact the outside world.
She hadn't expected it to provoke such a strong reaction.
Despite falling, they quickly got up and rushed out of the villa.
The moment they ran out, the villa's main door slammed shut on its own. Moreover, bars appeared above all the windows.
The bars descended at a steady pace, and within seconds, all the windows were sealed.
A Rui and Li Yi Ze rushed to the windows, trying desperately to stop the descending bars, but by the time they reached them, the windows were already sealed.
Then they tried to open the main door again, but it remained unresponsive.
They couldn't get out.
Li Yi Ze now regretted it. Perhaps they should have left with Glasses and Da B.
Leaving would have been better than being confined in this cage-like house.
"What happened?" Yueyue gritted her teeth and hobbled out of the bedroom.
"We might not be able to get out," Lin Yan sighed.
"How, how could this happen?" Yueyue looked down at Li Yi Ze, hoping for a different answer from his mouth.
But Li Yi Ze was too preoccupied to pay her any attention. He and A Rui were desperately searching for a way out.
"What did you do? Why are the windows sealed?" A Ming also came downstairs.
The commotion in Glasses's room earlier had alerted him, but he had to stay with Yifei, so he hadn't come out to check.
But when he discovered the sealed windows, he rushed out to ask.
"Glasses and Da B left the villa to find a signal. Then the windows and doors were sealed shut," Lin Yan explained to him.
"They left?"
"They didn't go far. You should still be able to see them from that window," Lin Yan pointed to a nearby window.
A Ming rushed over and saw the two walking towards the main gate with their backpacks.
They were walking quickly, without looking back.
A Ming gripped the window frame with all his might, the veins on the back of his hand bulging.
"Let's go downstairs. I don't feel safe up here. Yueyue, let me help you," Lin Yan said, approaching Yueyue.
"Thank you, Yan Yan," Yueyue said, resting her arm on Lin Yan's.
A Ming didn't linger. Yifei was still in the room, and he had to hurry back to her. She was unconscious, and he truly feared she might be in danger.
Upon his return, Yifei was still lying peacefully on the bed, unchanged. He breathed a sigh of relief and continued to guard her bedside.
A Rui and Li Yi Ze searched every exit on the first floor. The front and back doors were locked. The back door, originally a glass door, was now covered by a layer of bars on the outside.
Even the kitchen window and the floor-to-ceiling window in the living room were now behind these bars. They were trapped in the villa like birds in a cage.
Although they were unhappy that Glasses and Da B had left without a backward glance, they were also relieved. At least two people had left. There was still a glimmer of hope for rescue.
"It's fortunate they ran fast. If they had been a moment slower, they probably would have been trapped here with us," A Rui said with a hint of relief.
"Now, we can only hope they find a place with a signal soon," Li Yi Ze said, looking out at the scenery through the bars.
The two who ran out didn't just leave immediately. They also tried the doors and the bars on the windows, but they were powerless.
Fearing they would be trapped as well, they could only leave quickly. They checked their phones for signal indicators while walking briskly.
They had packed food and water, and they refused to believe that person could block the signal across the entire mountain.
They were certain they could contact the outside world quickly. Even if the rescuers couldn't arrive immediately, they could call the police.
They refused to believe that person wouldn't fear the police!
