The affairs of the empire were handed over to Madam Santi, who was quite accustomed to them.
She was dressed crisply now and moved with great purpose. The gloom and negativity that used to linger on her face were gone. She looked younger than she had in ten years.
Upon arriving at the royal city, she did not return to her previous residence. She had already learned from others about Lin Yan's handling of Mr. Leander.
However, she now saw a much broader sky and was no longer confined to that small courtyard.
Now that her daughter had conquered this empire and possessed considerable power, Santi no longer wished to concern herself with him. She had too many other matters to attend to and no time to waste on an unworthy person.
In fact, Lin Yan had already gained control of the entire empire, and their family held the highest status within it.
Many people, eager to curry favor, were willing to target these individuals.
All she had to do was express her displeasure with Leander, and numerous people would readily help her deal with him.
Yet, none of it truly mattered. Her daughter was right; they would see if they could truly be happy together now that they were truly united.
With this thought, she refused Egbert’s inquiry about whether she wanted to meet Leander.
"Let's not. When Angelina returns, we will announce our divorce."
Her daughter was correct; she could be a role model for others, bravely leaving an unfortunate marriage.
"Mother, have you truly thought this through?" Egbert wasn't trying to persuade his mother to continue the marriage, but divorce was unprecedented, and he didn't know what impact it would have on her.
"I truly have. I don't wish to continue this marriage. What if he dies? Others will still call me Madame Leander. Only divorce will allow me to become my true self, Santi Lawrence, not Santi Leander." Madam Santi had thought it through very clearly.
Now that Lin Yan had conquered the entire country, no one could stop her from doing as she pleased.
"What are you afraid of? Gossip? Do you think I still fear that?" Madam Santi was confident, completely disregarding what the future might hold.
"Mother, you are braver than I am," Egbert murmured with admiration, looking at his mother.
In reality, more than this matter, Madam Santi was more concerned about Lin Yan's next course of action.
In her understanding, the Church of Light had always been an invincible entity. Although Lin Yan had always assured her that she could succeed, Santi remained somewhat worried.
"We don't even know if your sister can return safely," Madam Santi said with concern.
She knew her worry here was useless, but she just wanted some comfort from her son.
"Don't worry, Mother. With the dragons helping her, the Church of Light will surely not be her match."
The headquarters of the Church of Light was filled with elements of light, and Lin Yan felt very comfortable upon arriving. This was, after all, where the original host had lived for many years.
Lin Yan, on Morris's back, looked at the familiar place and remained silent for a long time.
"Angelina, do you want to dismount now?" Morris inquired.
"Not yet. After all, the person we are waiting for has already appeared."
Just as Lin Yan finished speaking, several people flew out and hovered in front of her.
"This is the territory of the Church of Light. Who dares to be so presumptuous here?" The people who flew out had not yet seen Lin Yan on the dragon's back.
"We and the Dragon Clan have always minded our own business. Why have you come here unannounced?"
"Are you declaring war on the Church of Light by doing this?"
"My, what fiery tempers you have! Your talent for making accusations is truly remarkable."
