Lin Yan arrived at the entrance of the dungeon, accompanied by Morris.
As soon as she entered the dungeon, she saw the lords behind the bars.
"Lords, long time no see. Welcome to my territory as guests," Lin Yan said casually.
A servant brought a chair, and she sat outside the door, looking at the lords inside.
Each lord had a brazier and clean bedding in their cells. The conditions were quite good, but for these lords, it was an insult.
"Viscountess Rose is too busy. We've been here for so long, and we still haven't seen you," one lord said sarcastically.
"Yes, what will Viscountess do to us?" They were quite worried when they were captured.
But now that they were being treated like this, they relaxed. They understood that they were safe for now.
The person in front of them probably wouldn't dare to kill them, so what did they have to fear? She was just a viscountess. If she killed them, how would she explain it to the emperor?
"Indeed, if the Viscountess cannot give us an explanation, we will not leave easily."
"I think you lords are not understanding the current situation," Lin Yan said, resting her arm on the chair.
"It wasn't me who had you captured. I am only responsible for guarding you. It seems you still don't understand who you have offended."
Lin Yan sneered at them. They hadn't realized their danger yet. She had spared their lives only because they hadn't done anything wrong.
But their noble demeanor was really displeasing.
"Allow me to introduce. This is Morris, the Black Dragon, my fiancé. My territory currently has twenty-five adult dragons. These dragons are all my allies.
You lords should have encountered these dragons before, but you are too overconfident. Do you think your strength can contend with dragons? You are like a moth to a flame, so foolishly overconfident.
The reason you lords didn't die like the others is simply because I considered you to be relatively kind lords who didn't act wickedly in your own territories."
Lin Yan smiled as she watched the lords' expressions turn from surprise to fear.
"Now I offer you two paths: one is to obey me and work for me from now on; the other is to leave this world, and I will choose a nice tombstone for each of you.
I don't need you to decide now. I will give you three days to consider, and I will return in three days to ask for your decision. Alright, I shall leave now and not delay your contemplation."
After Lin Yan finished speaking, Morris extended his arm. Lin Yan placed her hand on his arm and stood up.
As they walked out, Lin Yan realized her own change. She seemed to be caring less and less about human lives.
In the past, even if she encountered such a situation, she wouldn't easily issue an order to kill. Even in a place like the apocalypse, she had maintained her bottom line and never killed anyone herself.
She had held onto this bottom line for a long time, but now she seemed to be completely indifferent to human lives.
Looking back at the lords, they were all living beings. Why did she want to kill them to eliminate future trouble?
"What's wrong?" Morris asked Lin Yan, looking down at her.
"Nothing, let's go back."
"Don't trouble yourself over these people. Angelina, you will have to do more in the future, conquer more territories, and you will encounter more people like this. Will you stop your progress because of them?" Morris looked into Lin Yan's eyes.
"No," Lin Yan said firmly. "I will not give up my progress for anyone."
"Then forge ahead fearlessly, Angelina. I will always be by your side and will not let you walk alone."
"Morris, you've moved me. I wonder if you would say even more touching words at our wedding?" Lin Yan teased.
"These are all my true feelings. If it were our wedding, I would definitely say much more. So, Angelina, should I start writing my speech now?" Morris asked eagerly.
"Let's wait a little longer. Once our endeavors reach a conclusion, we can start planning our wedding."
"Then I will go back and inform the patriarch."
"Why inform the patriarch?" Lin Yan asked, slightly confused.
"He hopes we can get married and establish our contract as soon as possible so that he can be at ease," Morris said with a smile. "You are truly amazing. He fears you might abandon me later."
"Don't say such things," Lin Yan patted his arm. "I will go back and continue preparing medicine for the young dragons, striving to make the patriarch feel I am even more indispensable."
However, upon returning, Lin Yan did not immediately prepare medicine. Instead, she called all the people around her for a meeting.
Her territory had expanded so much, and she needed to assign people to manage it and announce some policies to the citizens.
Madam Santi and Egbert were both put to use by Lin Yan. Madam Santi's health was much better now, especially managing Lin Yan's territory, her spirit improved, and her strength increased by one level.
Now, standing beside Lin Yan, she looked like her elder sister.
"Angie, are there any problems with you directly taking over those territories?" Madam Santi asked worriedly.
"Even if there are problems, they have already been taken. Now we just need to figure out how to deal with the emperor. But it's not important. Mother, I will have even larger territories. Neither the empire nor the church can stop my progress."
This was the first time she had openly revealed her ambition to them.
These were all her trusted confidantes, and she could completely trust them.
"Angelina, what do you mean?" Egbert was quite surprised. His sister's ambition was too great.
"Exactly what you're thinking, brother. Are you willing to help me?" Lin Yan looked at her brother.
"When did you start having these thoughts?" Egbert had always felt his sister was extraordinary, but he had only thought of her as a genius who might reach a high position. He hadn't expected his sister to want more than he imagined.
"Perhaps it was when I was being chased, or when I saw the ragged commoners, or perhaps when I saw the pitiful people being sold by slave traders?" Lin Yan mused. Of course, the most likely reason was that she needed more points.
Her own points were sufficient, but Liang Minghao's points were still lacking. She needed to change the fate of more people and obtain more points to exchange for their freedom.
