"Vision, 5.0…"
"Normal, normal, normal."
"Underdeveloped tail…"
Since she hadn’t disrupted the plot recently, Ning Chu’s tail was still rather short, and even the little heart-shaped tip hadn’t grown in yet.
For an eighteen-year-old succubus, this was definitely underdeveloped.
Her gaze froze on the words, and after some hesitation, she looked up and asked, "Xinya, do guys grow tails?"
"Nope."
Yeah, that made sense. If guys grew tails, they’d be beastmen. This wasn’t some female-oriented romance novel—there was no such setting in the book.
Then… how was she supposed to submit this medical report?
Yan Xinya leaned in, glancing at the paper. "Don’t worry, the teacher probably won’t even look at it.""True."
"Let’s head back to class then~"
Ning Chu had to break the bad news to the wolf girl: "No need… we’ve already been marked as absent."
"Huh?"
Yan Xinya froze for a second, then pulled a miserable face. "I won’t fail the class because of this, will I?"
"It’s just one time. Should be fine, right?"
"This is all your fault~ You owe me a milk tea!"
Having successfully BS-ed her way through the medical checkup, Ning Chu was in a pretty good mood and didn’t mind spending a bit on milk tea.
As they strolled toward the cafeteria at a leisurely pace, she figured that since they were already marked absent, she might as well head straight back to her rental to write.
Yan Xinya, always lively and full of energy, quickly forgot about skipping class. She ran back and forth along the road, occasionally pouncing toward Ning Chu, rubbing against her playfully.
Honestly, she looked exactly like a big dog that had been cooped up indoors for too long and was now excitedly frolicking outside.
Ning Chu seriously considered whether she should get a leash for Yan Xinya.
—But that would be way too suggestive.
"Milk cap!"
At the milk tea shop inside the cafeteria, Yan Xinya immediately ordered the most expensive drink.
"One strawberry milk cap, and add a lemon juice."
After placing the order at the counter, Ning Chu turned and asked, "Are you heading back to the dorm after this?"
"Do you need something?"
"Yeah, I’m heading back to my rental."
"Aren’t you waiting for Wen Yang to go with you?"
"Nope."
In fact, she hadn’t let Wen Yang stay over at her rental for the past couple of days. Partly because she didn’t want to be interrupted while writing, and partly because she was worried he might start making even bolder requests at night.
Once or twice was fine, but if she kept letting him push his limits, it wouldn’t be long before she got devoured completely.
"Then I’ll go play basketball on the field~"
Yan Xinya was also quite good at basketball—she had even joined the department’s basketball team.
Once they got their drinks, the wolf girl wagged her tail and waved at Ning Chu. "I’m off then!"
"Bye-bye~"
Watching the big fluffy dog happily bound out of the cafeteria, Ning Chu shook her head with a wry smile and grabbed her lemon juice.
That wolf girl is just like a husky.
After texting Wen Yang about her plans, she left the school and hopped on the bus to her rental apartment.
She had been writing for two days, yet her computer folder was still empty.
In reality, she had written a 10,000-word draft, but after revising and tweaking it, she became more and more dissatisfied and ultimately decided to scrap it and start over.
Writing hentai story was so much easier!
Like… a cocky, shameless rich second-gen getting gender-swapped into a girl—cursing and swearing the whole way—while getting pinned down by a straight-laced, honest roommate…
Holy crap! I need to write this!
Ning Chu’s creative instincts flared up. She couldn’t resist the urge and her fingers flew across the keyboard, typing out over a thousand words in one go.
"Wait— why am I writing this kind of thing again?"
She suddenly snapped out of it, clutching her head in frustration.
"If Shaoqing actually turns into a girl, what do I do?!"
Who knows if the story she was writing would actually manifest in this world?
If it really did… she would love to see what the gender-swapped, tsundere, sharp-tongued Zhang Shaoqing would look like…
Ning Chu quickly closed the document but, after some thought, decided to save it anyway, locking it away in a private folder.
She patted her cheeks, trying to refocus, and opened a blank document again, ready to seriously work on her web novel.
But that little indulgence just now had really entertained her mind…
Plus, this was her rental place, her private space—she was alone, and no one would ever find out!
That thought only made her urges harder to suppress.
Ning Chu buried her face in her arms, her cheeks tinged with pink, when—
Knock, knock
"Again…?"
She groaned, pressing her hot face against the desk with a dramatic eye-roll.
Fortunately, her thoughts hadn’t spiraled too far yet. The sudden knock startled her enough to snap out of it, and the heat in her body quickly dissipated. Shaking her head, she ignored the knocking and headed for the bathroom instead.
"Ning Chu?"
"Give me two minutes."
Wen Yang skipped class too.
It was only six o’clock—still regular class hours—but here he was, already at her door.
Ning Chu splashed some water on her face and glanced at her reflection.
The redness had mostly faded, but her delicate brows still held a lingering flush, and her dewy, peach-blossom eyes made her look utterly enchanting.
A pure, high schooler’s face—paired with those eyes.
That contrast was just… something else.
She wiped her face again, then jogged over to open the door.
"What took you so long? Were you up to no good?" Wen Yang stood outside, holding a bag of snacks. "Egg burger. Want some?"
"Yes!"
She snatched the egg burger immediately, completely ignoring the first half of his sentence, then plopped down in front of her computer.
"You skipped class too?" she asked.
"I got a leave slip for you and Xinya. Figured I’d grab one for myself too."
Wen Yang leaned against the desk, arms crossed, gazing down at the girl beside him.
"And the counselor just… let you?"
"I am the class monitor, after all."
But Ning Chu frowned in dissatisfaction. "I think you should quit being class monitor."
"Last time, when I wanted to go with you to visit your uncle, that old hag refused to approve my leave no matter what! But now you just waltz in, and she signs off right away? I think she has her eyes on you!"
"She’s in her forties or fifties… her son is probably older than me."
Ning Chu scoffed. "Yeah, right, like that’s stopping anything…"
"Either way, your absence is cleared now." Wen Yang’s gaze drifted to her computer screen. "But… it’s been two days, yet you still haven’t written a single word?"
"You’re the one who said I’d distract you if I stayed over, so I went back to the dorm instead!"
When he wakes up in the morning—would he rather see a beautiful little succubus or some half-naked, lazy dude? The answer was obvious.
Especially since this little succubus always wore thin, delicate nightgowns, an absolute treat for the eyes. Just catching a glimpse of her in the morning could keep his mood lifted all day.
Ning Chu straightened her back, completely justified. "Writing the beginning of a novel is hard, okay?"
"Then tonight, I’ll—"
"No way! Go sleep in the dorm!"
