Chapter 434: Coral and Kelp?

Chapter 434: Coral and Kelp?

[52,758 TP]

For the past few weeks, Lillian had been stocking up her amount of Theatrical Points in case one of her Items were to ever break.

With this amount, she could’ve bought herself a powerful weapon, maybe even just below the attack power of the Black Maw.

’Ehm... Definitely not...’

However, considering that her selection of weapons wasn’t low, she found no point in getting another weapon.

’I also could’ve gotten a ring or something as well...’

While the thought of buying something like a ring or some kind of accessory had passed through her mind, she felt it would be a waste, considering she could buy items like that with her own money.

Looking down at her bare feet, Lillian began to wonder.

Should she also buy some kind of footwear?

’I don’t think I packed any spares...’

Sighing, Lillian decided to find something along with a chestplate with a depressed look as she realised it was going to be an expensive experience.

Looking down at her armour, which resembled a chestplate made entirely out of dried-up coral, Lillian smirked as she summoned a ball of water and splashed it on herself.

She felt the chestplate shift around slightly, awakening as its greyish-white and dull appearance vanished, and a colourful array of colours now appeared.

"So, this must be the enchantment [Dried Coral] taking effect..."

Lillian, watching as the chestplate began to lose its bright colours, hummed in satisfaction as she felt the armour harden a little. It would definitely prove useful in battle.

’It’s a bit weird how it shifts around a little...’ She internally pointed out.

She couldn’t help but feel weirded out by its subtle shifts in movement. It really did feel like it was alive.

Shaking her head, she ignored the chestplate and decided to move on to her brand-new boots.

They were made out of a kelp-like leather with some kind of hard shell similar to that of a barnacle acting as the soles. There were also platings around the front of her boots, acting as protection for her toes.

It looked crudely made, but had a professional hint to it, as though the person who designed it was self-taught and was desperate to have it made properly.

Lillian shifted around a bit on the back of the Beetle before swinging herself to the side and looking at what it was eating.

Currently, the island they were on was made up of three areas.

A large beach at the far left end of the island. A massive cliff past a steep hill on the far right of the island. And lastly, a dense jungle in the middle of the island acts as their border.

So far, she and the Beetle hadn’t encountered any issue where the two of them needed to work together to bring down.

The strongest enemy they had fought so far was a Savage Maw in the shape of a massive python.

Lillian leapt off from the back of the Beetle and walked around to its face, watching as it bit into the remains of the python’s hole-riddled body.

She smirked and stood beside the Beetle’s face, getting into a small pose before asking:

"How this? I got some new gear. What’d you think?"

The Beetle paused for a moment. And when Lillian thought it was about to turn her way, it immediately returned to eating without giving her an answer.

Lillian smiled slightly and rolled her eyes at the Beetle ignoring her before leaning against one of its legs.

She watched as it ate and asked:

"Any good?"

This time, the Beetle raised its blood-covered face and spared her a glance. It thought for a moment before closing its eyes and bumping its head up and down slightly, while also giving a low growl of confirmation.

The Beetle seemed to be enjoying its meal.

Lillian nodded at its answer and climbed back onto its back.

"Alright, I’ll let you have one more bite before we have to get back to work. We have people to find, you know?"

The Beetle watched as Lillian climbed onto its back and rolled its eyes in a sassy manner. After spitting on a dense bone and eating it once it had become soft, it immediately began to move.

While they continued to move through the jungle, Lillian opened up the quest section of her system.

{New Quest has been found!}

[You have slain...]

[You have slain...]

[You have slain...]

Lillian hummed slightly as she read the quest description. While it may seem Lady Luck’s reward for the completion of this mission was quite cheap for what she was asking, it was one of the best kinds of rewards she could’ve gotten.

That was because...

’I need 500,000 more...’

She needed a total of a whopping ONE MILLION Theatrical Points. For what purpose...?

All for what would happen in December.

Lillian’s hands, which were clutched into a tight fist, slowly relaxed as she snapped out of her daze and found spears of water hovering beside her head.

For the past couple of minutes, she had been testing out her earring’s [Parallel Thinking] enchantment for a bit now. And from what she had seen, it was an excellent ability to have.

Any mage would say that this enchantment was definitely a lifesaver, especially during an intense and rapid battle, which was usually why most SKILLED mages would try to learn this technique.

’I definitely do feel my mind getting more fatigued the more I use it, though...’

This was the only concern with the enchantment.

However, through her rigorous training with Marionette, she was slightly more tolerant of such a feeling and could possibly keep it up for half an hour of constant use.

"H-HELP!"

Lillian’s ears twitched. She quickly narrowed her eyes and found that off in the distance, the trees were collapsing.

There seemed to be a large monster up ahead, as well as... What she saw was Nearlo, but in a much poorer and wounded state.
