Yu He walked towards the main entrance, brushing past Qin Yonghao and his son. She glanced back, seeing them chasing after Nan Ou's van, a wry smile playing on her lips.
She turned around, her high heels clicking against the floor as she strode towards the entrance, catching the attention of many curious reporters.
Could even the renowned divine physician be here for Crow?
The reporters were desperate to approach for an interview, but security maintained order, making it impossible to get close.
"Please present your invitation," a guard at the door stopped Yu He.
Just as Yu He was about to retrieve her invitation from her handbag, a short figure in a suit burst out of the lobby.
"She's my sister!" Ye Zizheng declared.
He had been stationed at the front desk of the lobby, observing all the guests and trying to find Crow. He hadn't expected to see Yu He.
She must be here to learn some secret skills and get an advantage too!
Thankfully, he was smart enough to follow, or she would have secretly gained another cheat!
There weren't many children at the banquet, and Ye Zizheng had been at the front desk the whole time. The guards recognized him, so they let them in before Yu He could even show her invitation.
Unbeknownst to them, in various corners of the building, dozens of people were watching this scene unfold through the entrance surveillance cameras.
They were all among the world's top one hundred hackers; hacking into a surveillance system was a breeze for them. And they weren't doing anything particularly outrageous, just adjusting the cameras slightly to see the invitations presented at the entrance. The XS Group hadn't intervened, tacitly approving their actions.
Everyone was looking for Crow, each relying on their own abilities. Of course, many hackers were also targeting the more formidable figures, S and Vulcan, with finding Crow being a secondary objective.
In the lobby.
"Why are you here?" Yu He asked.
Ye Zizheng put on an expression that said, "Don't try to fool me, I've seen through your intentions." He replied, "The same reason as you."
Yu He narrowed her eyes at him. "You know why I'm here?"
"Isn't it to learn some secret skills and get an advantage!" Ye Zizheng exclaimed.
Yu He: "..."
She really wanted to pry open this little brother's skull and see what kind of fantasies were constantly running through his mind.
"You should go up and find Dad and Brother first. I'll wait a bit longer," Ye Zizheng said, waving Yu He away as he saw more people arriving at the entrance.
"Waiting for who?" Yu He asked instinctively.
Ye Zizheng said, feigning profundity, "Waiting for my master."
"When did you take a master? Have you finished all the books I gave you?" Yu He asked in surprise.
Ye Zizheng stared intently at the main entrance. "I'm still reading. Reading books and finding a master aren't mutually exclusive. When I find him, I'll take him as my master right here."
"..."
"Then take your time waiting," Yu He said, as she had matters to attend to and started walking towards the elevators. Ye Zizheng suddenly called out to her.
"Wait, what holiday is it today?"
Yu He looked at his dark, expectant eyes. She took out two chocolate candies from her handbag, leftovers from that morning, and handed them to him.
"Children's Day, a holiday for little kids."
Ye Zizheng looked disgusted, but his body was honest as he took them, tore open one, and popped it into his mouth. It was really sweet.
The receptionist saw this and was shocked: Kid, you're way too hypocritical!
Who was it just now who refused candy and said Children's Day was for little kids? I'm already eight years old, not celebrating Children's Day?
...
The venue for the third-anniversary celebration was the banquet hall on the top floor of the building. The scene was filled with clinking glasses, and influential figures from all walks of life had gathered.
As Yu He stepped out of the elevator, she saw a familiar figure at the entrance of the banquet hall.
He was wearing a white suit, his short curly hair a bit longer than the last time she saw him, half-tied back. His originally pale complexion had also darkened considerably, adding a touch of ruggedness to his effeminate charm, making him look more masculine.
Li Si Chen also saw Yu He. He placed the wine glass in his hand on a passing waiter's tray and walked over.
"Hi, baby, long time no see."
Since they had exchanged WeChat contacts last time, Yu He hadn't looked at him again. He had already tanned so much before summer even arrived. She blurted out, "Did you go to Africa?"
Li Si Chen: "...How did you know?"
Yu He: "..."
He actually had!
"Shall we find a place to talk?" Li Si Chen gestured towards a nearby corridor.
Yu He just wanted to find Vulcan as soon as possible and didn't want to waste time. "What is it? Just say it directly."
Li Si Chen made an impatient "tsk" sound. "Are you always this cold?"
"If it's something so boring, let's reschedule for another time. I have something to do," Yu He said, giving him a cold glance.
Li Si Chen muttered, "She really is cold," before asking, "What are you doing here?"
"That doesn't seem to concern you, does it?" Yu He replied indifferently, trying to move past him. Just as she was about to leave, she heard Li Si Chen say in a low voice:
"Didn't you want to see me?"
Yu He's steps faltered. She turned back, looking at him in surprise. "You are..."
He was Vulcan?
But Vulcan was the Palace Lord of Xing Que?
She had tested him last time, and he clearly wasn't the Palace Lord of Xing Que.
Li Si Chen gave her a mysterious smile, then turned and walked towards the corridor. Yu He, filled with suspicion, followed him.
Li Si Chen used his phone to unlock an office door and then looked at Yu He, gesturing for her to enter.
Yu He saw that the password had been cracked using code. Without hesitation, she stepped inside.
The office was small and empty.
Yu He glanced at her phone. The Palace Lord of Xing Que hadn't replied. She quickly sent a question mark and then looked at Li Si Chen.
He showed no reaction, simply entering and closing the door behind him.
"You really don't listen! Crow," Li Si Chen said, his tone shifting from frivolous to stern.
Yu He's brow furrowed. She stared at him intently. "What do you mean by that?"
Li Si Chen raised an eyebrow. "Your account hasn't been unsealed, and you're already looking to cause trouble again?!"
Yu He: !!
Yu He: "Master?!"
Li Si Chen nodded with a profound expression, saying with mock seriousness, "I banned your account for six months to let you lie low. And you, knowing that everyone is looking for Crow here, still dare to show up!"
He really was her master!
Yu He accepted the scolding but didn't feel the least bit remorseful. Staring at Li Si Chen's flawless, youthful face and his thick curly hair, she felt a complex mix of emotions.
She had always imagined S to be an old man with wrinkles, bald, and riddled with age-related illnesses!!!
Li Si Chen deliberately put on the image of a strict master to reprimand her, but seeing Yu He show no sign of repentance and only gaze at him with a strange expression, his serious demeanor lasted less than three seconds. He said with a roguish grin, "So, am I even more handsome than you imagined, Master?"
Yu He nodded. "Yes, all limbs are intact, hair is still present, and your face is smooth."
"..."
Li Si Chen's lips twitched. "Are you implying that in your previous impression, I was a bald, old, disabled person?"
