“Uncle, wait for me…”
Ye Zisu clutched the hem of her skirt and hurried after Qin Beiting, not noticing the glass bead rolling towards her. Her high heel stepped on it, and she slipped.
“Ah—” Her ankle twisted, and she crashed into the sauce station beside her.
With a loud “Bang—”, all sorts of sauces on the counter spilled all over Ye Zisu.
Her white dress was stained with colors and smells.
“Wow!” Duoduo covered her mouth with her small hands in shock.
Xiao Anran smirked a little, but still picked up Duoduo and stood aside, keeping her out of the mess.
The servers nearby, seeing this, held their breath.
Oh no, it was rumored that Seventh Master Qin doted on his little niece. If she got hurt here, even a single hair out of place, their jobs would be on the line.
Hearing the commotion, Qin Beiting paused and looked back at Ye Zisu, who was sprawled on the ground in a sorry state. His brow furrowed, and obvious disdain flickered in his eyes.
The servers wanted to rush forward to help her up, but feared getting caught in the crossfire. They nudged each other, hesitant.
Seeing this, Ye Zisu was furious. If anyone had offered to help her, she wouldn’t be so embarrassed!
She secretly memorized the faces of those servers, vowing to make them disappear from the capital forever later.
At this moment, she had no choice but to extend her hand to Qin Beiting, “Uncle, help me…”
However, Qin Beiting turned away indifferently and left, leaving Ye Zisu sitting awkwardly in a mess of sauces.
The servers breathed a silent sigh of relief. Thankfully, Seventh Master Qin wasn’t angry.
Seventh Master Qin was indeed a germaphobe; he even disdained his own niece.
“What are you all standing around for! Hurry and help me up!” Ye Zisu snapped, embarrassed and angry.
The servers finally seemed to snap back to reality, scrambling to help her up and quickly clean up the mess.
Just then, Ye Zisu noticed the glass bead that had caused her fall.
This hotel belonged to the XS Group. Ye Zisu was a frequent visitor and knew the place well. These glass beads were usually placed in the decorative potted plants on the dining tables.
How did one end up here?!
And to make her embarrass herself in front of Qin Beiting!
“Who threw this glass bead here?” she asked, picking up the bead and demanding.
The servers exchanged confused glances; none of them knew.
Seeing this, Ye Zisu’s face darkened. “None of you will say? Get me the surveillance footage!”
The servers were used to her spoiled nature and didn’t dare to offend her, so they went to retrieve the footage.
The surveillance footage showed the entire scene of Ye Zisu kicking Duoduo away, and then her humiliating fall. However, the part about who threw the glass bead was missing.
This was clearly tampered with!
“Find out who did this!” Ye Zisu was furious, feeling like today was an exceptionally unlucky day!
She swore to tear the culprit to shreds!
“Duoduo, let’s go. I got you some barbecue. Let’s eat first.”
Yue Yue emerged from a nearby cabinet, holding two plates, one with steak and the other with barbecue.
Upon seeing the barbecue, Duoduo’s previous distress vanished. She wriggled out of Xiao Anran’s arms and landed on her feet. “Brother is the best to me. He knows I like meat.”
The three returned to their table, but Yu He was nowhere to be seen, only Alice remained.
“Auntie Alice, where’s my mommy?” Duoduo asked.
“Esther was just called away by a hotel staff member. She said for you to eat first and not wait for her,” Alice replied.
Meanwhile, in the top-floor family suite 1606.
“Ms. Yu, I apologize, but your room reservation has been canceled. Please pack your belongings and vacate the room as soon as possible. We need to prepare it for the next guest,” the hotel manager said to Yu He, accompanied by two security guards.
“When did I cancel my reservation?” Yu He asked.
She had booked this hotel room for half a month and had only stayed one day.
“Around noon today, your friend called and said you would not be extending your stay and asked us to process the checkout,” the hotel manager explained.
Yu He: “Which friend?”
“Uh… the person didn’t give a name, but it was a woman speaking English. She claimed to be your colleague and good friend.”
Yu He’s mind immediately went to Catherine, who was far away in France. A flicker of disgust crossed her eyes.
She had to admit, such childish behavior was truly disgusting.
“I don’t know her. I intend to stay in this room for another half a month. Please extend my reservation,” she said, presenting her bank card to the manager.
The manager looked troubled. “Ms. Yu, I’m sorry, but this room has already been booked by someone else. We cannot afford to offend them. Perhaps you could move to a double room downstairs?”
“Cannot afford to offend?” Yu He chuckled sarcastically. “Does that mean I’m easier to bully?”
“That’s not what I meant, but your reservation has been canceled, and you haven’t prepaid for the room, nor are you a member. We won’t hold the room for you; it will be prioritized for other member guests. We hope you can understand and not put us in a difficult position.”
The manager spoke politely but firmly. As soon as he finished speaking, the two security guards behind him straightened their backs.
The implication was clear: if she didn’t cooperate, they would forcibly remove her.
“Can anyone in your hotel cancel a guest’s reserved room?” Yu He asked calmly.
“Certainly not. It would have to be a relative or close friend of the guest, and we would handle it with discretion,” the manager replied.
“Alright,” Yu He said, and walked back into the room.
The manager breathed a sigh of relief, assuming she was packing her luggage. He used his walkie-talkie to call the cleaning staff, preparing to clean the room.
When Qin Beiting arrived on the top floor, he saw Yu He speaking with the hotel manager. He recognized her as the woman from the stadium.
She wasn't wearing a mask, and her three-dimensional, delicate features were even more striking than he had imagined.
What drew him in more, however, was her composed demeanor, her distant, cool aura.
He unconsciously stopped, wanting to see how she would handle the situation.
Five minutes later.
“Manager Chen, there’s a problem! The hotel system has been compromised by a hacker. All room reservation information is in disarray, and many guests are calling to complain,” came an urgent report from the front desk via the manager’s walkie-talkie.
“How could this happen?! Quickly notify the store manager and the IT department!” the hotel manager immediately instructed into the walkie-talkie. He then cautioned the security guards, “Keep an eye on her while she moves out!”
Their hotel system used a firewall designed by XS Group’s headquarters, which was highly secure. No hacker had ever managed to breach it.
“Wait a moment.” Yu He emerged and stopped the departing manager, offering him her bank card again. “Swipe for half a month’s room fee. This is a one-time exception.”
The hotel manager froze, then, as if compelled, he took the card. A quick check by the front desk revealed that her canceled reservation had been restored!
“Was it you?!” he asked in disbelief.
“After you swipe, bring the card to the self-service restaurant on the second floor,” Yu He said, closing the door and leaving directly.
As she brushed past Qin Beiting, his phone buzzed with a message.
Qi Xifeng: [Unbelievable, Brother Ting. Someone actually broke through your firewall!]
