Ye Yi woke up that night.
He reached for his phone, and the blinding screen light made him squint before his eyes adjusted.
There were a few missed calls on his phone. He clicked on WeChat and saw a string of red dots. Ye Yi ignored them and dialed Ye San, "Come pick me up."
"Twenty minutes."
Twenty minutes later, Ye San arrived on time.
Ye Yi changed into a black and white sweater, his messy bangs falling to cover a fleeting laziness in his eyes.
His arm rested casually on the car window, revealing a stretch of firm, strong skin.
The man's features were handsome, with a touch of refined boyishness. His eyes always held a hint of a smile.
At this moment, he closed his eyes slightly, enjoying the wind.
"We're here," Ye San's voice woke him.
Ye Yi opened his eyes and hummed, "You can go. I'm going clubbing."
He got out of the car and walked into the bar in front of him, which was none other than "Seattle."
Ye Yi casually got a booth and ordered two bottles of good wine.
His unique and aloof demeanor quickly attracted many admirers. After observing him for a moment and confirming he was alone, a woman picked up her drink and gracefully approached. She ran her hand up Ye Yi's thigh, revealing a glimpse of her cleavage as she leaned over, and sweetly asked, "Handsome, are you alone?"
A flicker of amusement crossed Ye Yi's eyes. He looked away from the woman's chest, which was adorned with a jumble of flesh, and said nothing.
The woman's heart leaped, thinking his silence was an opening. She moved closer, offering the glass to his lips and giggling, "My name is Lucky, want to have a drink together?"
Ye Yi looked down at the lipstick stain on the rim of the glass, a wave of disgust rising from his gut. On the surface, however, he smiled faintly, "I don't drink this kind of wine."
The woman smiled even more happily, slid into his lap, and moved her hand from his thigh to his chest, leaning in to whisper, "Then... what do you like to drink? I'll have them bring another."
"I like..." Ye Yi's unfinished sentence was suddenly interrupted.
"Ah!"
Along with the woman's scream, some of the wine spilled from the cup. The woman was pulled up and rubbed her wrist, looking at the newcomer, "Who are you, crazy woman?!"
Jing Yiyi knew the woman had ill intentions the moment she saw her. Seeing Ye Yi still not refuse, Jing Yiyi's anger flared up uncontrollably.
"You, get away from him!" she said haughtily, lifting her chin.
A flash of surprise crossed Ye Yi's eyes, and then he lowered his head, swirling his wine glass and drinking.
It was as if the two women fighting here had nothing to do with him.
The woman's gaze shifted between Ye Yi and Jing Yiyi for a moment, and then she seemed to understand.
She sneered, "What, you want to fight me for him too? I was here first."
Jing Yiyi's face instantly turned crimson. Fight for him? She clearly couldn't stand Ye Yi's behavior of not refusing someone he didn't like!
"You, you stop talking nonsense!"
"If you're not fighting for him, then get out of the way and don't disturb our good time. Handsome, isn't that right?" The woman said, looking down and smiling at Ye Yi.
Ye Yi's lips curled slightly. He said nothing, or perhaps he acquiesced.
"Handsome, do you know this woman?"
The scarlet liquid slid down his throat, his profile sculpted by the light, becoming even more alluring and seductive. Ye Yi shook his wine glass, saying carelessly, "No."
The woman's eyes brightened, "He said he doesn't know you, so why are you here causing trouble? Oh, I get it, you must be his ex-girlfriend, right? Since you broke up, stop pestering him!"
Jing Yiyi couldn't quite make out Ye Yi's expression, but she felt a bitter ache in her heart. This scene was truly an eyesore.
He dared to say he didn't know her?
Good for you, Ye Yi!
Jing Yiyi bit her lip slightly, and quickly thought of an idea. She called out recklessly, "Yes, I'm this man's ex-girlfriend, and I'm doing this for your own good! Do you know why we broke up? Don't be fooled by his looks, this man is actually useless!"
The woman was shocked and annoyed. Such a handsome man was useless?
Then wasn't she just making a fool of herself by seducing him for so long?
Ye Yi's hand froze, his brow furrowing almost imperceptibly. This damn woman would say anything.
"What a fake!" The woman spat, seeing his lack of denial and assuming he was indeed useless.
"Bad luck," she grumbled and walked away.
An awkward silence fell between the remaining two.
Seeing Ye Yi remain silent, Jing Yiyi sat down, her face flushed, "I didn't mean to."
"Yes, you did, you slandered my reputation," Ye Yi raised an eyebrow and glanced at her with a half-smile that lasted all evening.
Jing Yiyi's face instantly burned.
Then she said righteously, "I did it for your own good! Aren't you going to thank me for getting you out of that situation? Don't think I can't tell, you don't like that woman at all!"
"What business is it of yours?" Ye Yi met her gaze, the emotions in his eyes unreadable.
Jing Yiyi felt a pang of embarrassment. She unconsciously picked at the surface of the booth, a habit when she was nervous.
She stammered, "When you see injustice... you must act... how is it not my business...?"
"Heh," a smile played on Ye Yi's lips, "Meddling."
With that, he tilted his head back and finished the last of his wine.
Jing Yiyi stared at him, her gaze inexplicably drawn. She licked her lips, suddenly feeling a bit thirsty, and grabbed the drink on the table, downing it in one gulp.
Ye Yi raised his eyebrows, seemingly out of great mercy, and gave her a glance, "If you can't drink, don't force it. I don't escort drunks."
"Who do you think I am?" Jing Yiyi slammed her glass down and beckoned the bartender, "Give me ten more! I can hold my liquor!"
Ye Yi shrugged, "We'll pay separately."
"No manners," she gritted her teeth, "Do you have to be so petty?"
Ye Yi found it amusing, "Miss Jing, what is our relationship? Isn't splitting the bill perfectly normal?"
Jing Yiyi sat on the sofa next to him with her drink, her brows furrowed. She suddenly leaned closer to him, her red lips parting slightly, "You're so rich, wouldn't it be wrong not to treat me to a couple of drinks?"
The faint, sweet scent from the woman's body wafted into Ye Yi's nostrils, and he subtly shifted back.
From an outsider's perspective, this posture of the woman leaning over the man looked quite intimate.
Ye Yi didn't look at her, his gaze moving upwards, "Miss Jing isn't short of money, why would you need me to pay for these two drinks?"
"Of course... wine I don't pay for tastes better." Jing Yiyi stared at the man's sensual Adam's apple, her gaze drifting down. A patch of skin was exposed in the deeply unbuttoned sweater.
It looked... perhaps quite pleasant to touch.
She felt a moment of shame for her inappropriate thought.
Her gaze immediately moved away as if burned.
"Fine, if you're not buying, then don't. I have my own money." She sat up straight and took another drink.
