Chapter 68 Recruitment (Part 2)

On the way home, Liu Qingxia felt like she was walking on air.

She hadn't expected the interview today to go so smoothly.

She had assumed that a job with such a generous salary would also have fierce competition.

Then, she thought of Wang Yue.

According to the boss, he was still a high school student at seventeen.

The gap between people was truly vast.

However, Liu Qingxia quickly shook off her scattered thoughts.

She had decided to do this job well, for her future quality of life.

Meanwhile, Wang Yue continued to stay at the shop, waiting for the interviewees to arrive.

At half past nine, another young woman arrived at the shop.

She hesitated at the door for a while before entering.

"Are... are you also here for an interview?"

This girl looked about the same age as Wang Yue, with a delicate and shy demeanor.

She blushed after just a few words with Wang Yue.

"I'm here for an interview, but I'm interviewing you," Wang Yue said with a smile.

"Ah?"

The girl was stunned, then hastily said, "Boss, I'm so sorry."

"It's okay, don't be nervous. Just a simple self-introduction."

"My name is Song Feiyan..."

Finally, Wang Yue informed the girl on the spot that she had passed the interview.

The girl's face flushed with excitement.

She kept thanking Wang Yue profusely.

Wang Yue smiled and reminded her to be on time for work on the 8th.

Before ten o'clock, the remaining five girls arrived one after another.

Wang Yue was adept at reading people.

He noticed that two of the girls were looking around as soon as they entered, with a considerable amount of disdain in their eyes.

He found it amusing. If they looked down on this job, why come for the interview?

"Introduce yourselves, starting from the one on the far left," Wang Yue said with a smile.

The five girls sat in a row.

"Hello, my name is Yang Xiumin..."

"Hello, my name is Ma Dongmei..."

"Hello, my name is Bai Jie..."

"Hello, my name is Gao Min..."

"Hello, my name is Wang Lingdang..."

They each briefly introduced themselves.

The ones who left the deepest impression on Wang Yue were Gao Min and Bai Jie.

Both were graduates of universities, and decent ones at that, so their tone was filled with a sense of superiority.

Yang Xiumin and Ma Dongmei, on the other hand, had only high school diplomas. Wang Lingdang was slightly better, having a vocational college degree.

"I see you two are from the same school. Do you know each other?" Wang Yue asked Gao Min with a smile.

"We are classmates," Gao Min replied.

"Okay, is this your first job after graduation? Why do you want this job?" Wang Yue continued.

"Because this job is simple, I don't think it will be difficult for university graduates like us, so I am very confident I can do it well. Also, I want to accumulate some work experience so that I won't have a blank resume when looking for other jobs later," Gao Min said without hesitation.

In her view, it was just a job at a milk tea shop. With her university degree, the boss should be ecstatic to have her apply. There was no reason for them to refuse her.

"Okay," Wang Yue nodded with a smile.

He then looked at Bai Jie. "How about you? Why do you want this job?"

Bai Jie had significantly higher emotional intelligence than Gao Min. After a moment of thought, she said, "I want to further develop my abilities. While the work at a milk tea shop is simple, there are many subtle aspects to it, and I believe this will effectively improve me. Also, I personally enjoy drinking milk tea, and I hope to develop a long-term career in this industry. Therefore, this is my original intention for applying for this position."

Wang Yue nodded with a smile. "Good."

Both were university students, but their emotional intelligence was vastly different. Although Bai Jie, like Gao Min, had initially displayed disdain, she behaved respectfully during the interview.

While Bai Jie was speaking, Gao Min maintained a look of disdain, even seeming on the verge of laughing.

They were the chosen ones, weren't they? Did they need to be so hypocritical?

Next, Wang Yue asked the other three the same question one by one.

Yang Xiumin and Ma Dongmei had very proper attitudes.

Wang Lingdang's answer also amused Wang Yue.

"Boss, the reason I want this job is simply because it pays well. Right now, I just want to make money and have no other thoughts. So, as long as I don't die, I'll work myself to death. I hope you will seriously consider me. I really want to join your esteemed establishment." Wang Lingdang was petite and cute, but her face was full of determination. To put it in modern terms, she was a 'grind queen.' Capitalists loved such grind queens.

"Alright, I've finished my questions. Does anyone have any questions?" Wang Yue asked.

Wang Lingdang was the first to speak. "May I ask how the salary is calculated?"

"During the internship period, it's a base salary of 1200 plus a 1.5% commission on turnover. The internship lasts one month. After one month, you will be converted to a full-time employee with a base salary of 1500 plus a 2% commission on turnover," Wang Yue explained.

Wang Lingdang did some calculations and found that this far exceeded her expectations. She said with satisfaction, "I have no more questions!"

Gao Min, however, still wore a face of superiority and disdain. She thought, *Is that it?* The questions were over, so she was sure to get the job. This boss looked young, but he clearly lacked experience.

Gao Min thought for a moment and then asked, "Boss, I have a question. In Rongcheng, large companies set salaries during interviews, offering higher pay to exceptional candidates. Do you think my base salary can be adjusted upwards?" Gao Min said with considerable confidence.

*Her emotional intelligence is negative,* Wang Yue mused internally, then said with an apologetic smile, "As you mentioned, those are the regulations for large companies. Our shop doesn't offer such benefits."

Gao Min nodded. "I can understand that. Then I'd like to ask, is it a fixed two-day weekend every week? Will there be triple pay for working overtime on holidays? Are there benefits like personal leave or afternoon tea?" Gao Min considered these to be reasonable, but the others were looking at her strangely. *Big sister, are you sure you're here to apply for a job as a milk tea shop assistant? You could apply to a big company with these demands; they might meet your requirements.*

Wang Yue apologized again. "Currently, the tentative rest time is flexible leave, arranged on a weekly basis. You'll have at least 6 days off per month. Holiday work will be triple pay. As for personal leave and afternoon tea, that depends on future development."

"Boss, I have to say, in big cities, a two-day weekend is the most basic requirement. I think you need to change your regulations," Gao Min said indifferently.

The saying goes, "Give an inch, they take a mile." This was probably it. Wang Yue felt he was losing his patience. What was with this overwhelming sense of superiority?

Wang Yue shrugged. "Currently, these are the shop's regulations, and we are not considering any changes."

Gao Min sighed. "Fine, I can understand. After all, it's a small place. I can barely accept it."

"Does anyone else have any questions?" Wang Yue asked with a smile.

The others all shook their heads, saying they had none.

"Good," Wang Yue nodded, then said, "Ma Dongmei, Yang Xiumin, Wang Lingdang, and Bai Jie, the four of you have passed the interview. Can you report for duty on the 8th?"

"Yes!"

"No problem!"

"I don't have any."

"Me neither."

All four responded eagerly.

Gao Min's face turned from red to pale, then back to red, and finally, she shouted, "Why!?"
