After a dozen more swords, Su Fan's final strike pierced the boss's neck. The boss's health bar dropped to zero, and it fell to the ground.
Su Fan's health was still nearly half full. He hadn't dodged every attack, only some of them.
*Clang!*
A blue light appeared beside the boss. The boss had dropped loot.
Su Fan quickly picked it up.
Peacock Plume
Level: 5
All Attributes +5
Special Effect: Attacks have a chance to inflict fire damage.
Su Fan was surprised. It was the Peacock Plume, an early-game artifact with only a 1.5% drop rate!
This was an accessory. Equipping it would effectively double his damage in the early game. It was truly an artifact, even though it was only a blue-tier item.
A thought crossed Su Fan's mind. He didn't plan to equip it. He wanted to bring it into reality.
But first, he needed to enhance it and upgrade it to pink-tier.
Pink-tier upgrades required equipment of blue-tier or higher. Using pink crystals at the blacksmith would add an extra pink stat.
Before the upgrade, Su Fan first enhanced the Peacock Plume to +5.
Peacock Plume +5
Level: 5
All Attributes +10
Special Effect: Attacks inflict 130% fire damage.
Only then did Su Fan place the enhanced Peacock Plume into the upgrade interface and insert the pink crystal.
Equipment upgrades to pink-tier had only one chance. The resulting stat was completely random. It was possible for a strength-based item to be upgraded with a magic stat, rendering the equipment useless.
A flash of white light, and the Peacock Plume changed from blue to pink, with a new pink stat appearing.
Divine Protection: Block one fatal damage instance.
Su Fan was stunned. His luck today was incredible! Had he traded his life for it?
Su Fan was almost reluctant to take it out, wishing he could use this stat in the game.
However, in reality, Su Fan indeed needed equipment to improve himself, especially after offending the Vali Group.
Su Fan woke up. The sky was already dimly lit.
Su Fan eagerly took the Peacock Plume out of his inventory.
A pale pink, feather-shaped pendant appeared in Su Fan's hand.
Peacock Plume
Grants the wearer fire control abilities. Avoids fatal damage (one-month cooldown after each trigger).
Su Fan put it on his neck without hesitation. He immediately felt a surge of power.
The attribute boosts should also be present, even if not displayed.
Su Fan extended his hand, and with a thought, a ball of flame ignited in his palm.
The firelight reflected on Su Fan's face, and he wore an expression of ecstatic joy.
Having extraordinary power felt so damn good!
"Ah!!!"
A scream suddenly came from the room next door. It was Su Yutong.
Su Fan's expression changed, and he rushed over.
As soon as Su Fan stepped out, he saw Su Yutong, who had been unconscious in the hallway, being escorted into an elevator by two people.
One of them saw Su Fan and gave him a smile.
Su Fan chased after them quickly, but the elevator doors had already closed. Unable to wait, Su Fan ran down the stairs. By the time he reached the first floor, the perpetrators were already at the entrance, about to get into a car.
Su Fan desperately pursued, his speed incredible, but it was still too late. Su Yutong was lifted into the car, and the vehicle sped away.
Anxious, Su Fan flagged down a passing car by the roadside.
"Driver, chase that car ahead!"
Myanmar borders China, and most people there speak Chinese. Even if they didn't, they could understand it.
"Alright, hold on tight!" The driver grinned, shifted gears, and accelerated rapidly.
After a few minutes, the car ahead stopped at the entrance of an abandoned factory.
"Thanks."
Su Fan tossed some cash to the driver.
"Just two blocks and I was all hyped up," the driver grumbled indignantly.
Su Fan looked at the abandoned factory ahead. Had the kidnappers brought Su Yutong here because of him or because of her?
Su Fan recalled the smile the man had given him earlier. It was highly likely they were after him.
And the only group he had conflicts with in Myanmar was the Vali Group.
Libidi!
It was very likely this guy's doing.
What will be, will be. Since they were after him, Su Yutong was probably not in immediate danger.
Su Fan walked into the abandoned factory with a blank expression.
As soon as Su Fan entered, the large door behind him was closed by someone who appeared out of nowhere.
Then, a group of people surrounded him, each holding a long spear.
From the back of the crowd, a young man emerged.
Su Fan recognized him. It was the person who had bought his diamonds at the exchange.
"Su Fan, right? You didn't show me respect when I invited you, but now you've come," Libidi said with a light laugh, his eyes full of disdain.
"What do you want? Where's my friend?" Su Fan asked, frowning.
*Clap, clap.*
Libidi clapped his hands. The crowd behind him parted, revealing Su Yutong tied to a chair, still unconscious.
"I just wanted to discuss a diamond business partnership with you. There was no need for things to escalate like this," Libidi said, shrugging with a look of helplessness.
"I already sold you the only diamond I had. How else can we partner?"
"No, no, no," Libidi wagged his finger.
"You have more diamonds. It's impossible to have just one, just like your jade, you definitely wouldn't have only one," Libidi was convinced that Su Fan had more than one diamond. Even if he was wrong, he wouldn't lose anything.
Su Fan hadn't expected Libidi to guess he had more diamonds, but he would never admit it. Admitting it would only lead to more trouble.
"You're mistaken. If I had so many diamonds, I would have gone to an auction house long ago. Why would I sell them here, where it's not safe?" Su Fan made up an excuse.
Libidi smiled.
"Precisely because you have many diamonds, you don't dare go to an auction house. Only by cooperating with me can we discuss a good price," Libidi became even more certain that Su Fan had more diamonds. The more Su Fan argued, the more it proved he was hiding something.
"I don't have diamonds, but I know a diamond mine owner in South Africa. I can help you connect," Su Fan could only try to divert Libidi's attention in another way, to make him stop focusing on him.
"Oh? I've heard of a few bosses in South Africa. Which one is it?" Libidi's eyes lit up, and he asked Su Fan.
Su Fan suddenly didn't know how to answer. If the other party knew him, Su Fan would be exposed.
"Walker Loud."
Su Fan randomly blurted out a name.
At this moment, he couldn't hesitate. Hesitation would arouse suspicion.
"Walker Loud?" Libidi lowered his head and pondered for a moment.
"Alright, if you help me connect, I'll give you a ten percent profit share!" Libidi didn't suspect Su Fan.
Libidi had no understanding of the diamond industry. He had just been trying to trick Su Fan.
"Okay. Can you let my friend go now?" Su Fan agreed immediately.
"No rush. With your 'sister-in-law' here, you can rest assured she won't be harmed. Brother Fan, since you're on my turf, I naturally have to entertain you properly. Let's go! I'll show Brother Fan the customs and traditions of Myanmar!"
Libidi had no intention of releasing Su Yutong. Only with Su Yutong in his hands could he be sure Su Fan wouldn't run away.
