Chapter 254 Sanniang, Three Feet Deep

The two parked their carriage outside the Youjian Inn.

"The name is quite interesting," Chen Fang said with a light laugh upon seeing the inn's name.

Then he pushed the door open and went inside.

Though small, the inn was well-equipped. The interior was much larger than it appeared from the outside, with eight square tables in the main hall, a kitchen in the back courtyard, and guest rooms on the second floor.

"Guest, what would you like to eat?" A beautiful woman approached and asked Su Fan and the other.

Good heavens, why are most innkeepers widows? I haven't seen many male owners.

"Bring some wine and dishes, and two superior rooms," Chen Fang said, as usual, wine, dishes, and superior rooms.

"Oh, I'm sorry, guest. We only have one room left, and no superior rooms, just regular rooms," the proprietress said to Chen Fang with a smile.

In this desolate place, let alone superior rooms, it would be good to have a place to stay.

"One room is fine, we'll make do," Su Fan quickly said, lest they lose even this one room.

"Alright, please have a seat. Wait a moment, the food will be ready soon." After the proprietress gestured for them to sit, she went to the kitchen to place the order.

This time, Chen Fang didn't show off his silver to avoid further trouble.

Besides Su Fan and the other, there were two other groups in the hall, one with two people and the other with four.

They were all dressed in plain cloth and coarse linen, some with scars on their faces, clearly not good people.

They had now reached the Beiling territory, where bandits were rampant. These people were likely bandits.

Su Fan pondered for a moment.

"When the food is served later, don't eat it yet. Let me take a look first," Su Fan reminded Chen Fang.

In such a chaotic place, an inn that could still operate might not have a benevolent proprietress. Su Fan relied on the game's characteristics to check the attributes of the food to confirm its safety before eating.

When their dishes were served, Su Fan examined them one by one.

The two of them ordered three dishes and one soup, plus a staple of buns.

There were no problems with the information; the inn hadn't tampered with anything, and the ingredients were normal.

Su Fan felt he might have been overthinking things. How many black inns could there be in this world?

"No problem, eat up," Su Fan said to Chen Fang.

While the two were eating, the other two groups kept glancing at them.

Su Fan and Chen Fang's attire was completely out of place, making them stand out as soon as they sat down.

Su Fan frowned, and therefore, he looked at those people more.

"What are you looking at!"

Just because Su Fan looked at them more, one of them slammed the table and stood up, looking like he was about to fight at the slightest provocation.

Su Fan and Chen Fang exchanged a glance.

"You decide. Once we're here, you're in charge," Chen Fang had no intention of making the decision for Su Fan. Reaching Beiling meant it was Su Fan's territory, and Su Fan was going to be the commander. It was naturally up to Su Fan.

Su Fan pondered for a moment.

He also stood up and looked at the other party coldly.

"So what if I'm looking at you?"

If these two sentences were spoken in the Northeast, a fight would have broken out.

Of course, the outcome here would be similar.

"Damn it! You son of a bitch!"

The group immediately erupted. They grabbed the swords and knives beside them, drew them, and charged at Su Fan and the other.

They were all desperate outlaws who lived on the edge of a knife, fearing nothing, and would fight at the slightest disagreement.

There were four of them, and only two on Su Fan's side, yet Su Fan was not afraid of them at all.

"A few level twenty shrimps, who gave you the courage?"

Su Fan immediately attacked, sending one of them flying with a single punch.

The person hit by Su Fan flew out, smashing through a table.

"Stop! How dare you cause trouble in my Third Sister's inn! Are you looking for death!"

The proprietress rushed over at this moment, directly between Chen Fang and another person, holding their arms with one hand each, and looking at everyone present with a frosty expression.

The group was somewhat resentful. They glared fiercely at Su Fan and the other, and snorted.

"Hmph! For Third Sister's sake, we'll let you off today!" The bald leader warned Su Fan and the other.

"And you! Pay up!"

Before Su Fan could retort, the proprietress, who called herself Third Sister, approached him with a fierce look.

"Pay what?" Su Fan asked with a frown.

"The table! You broke my table, don't you have to pay?" Third Sister pointed at the broken table and said.

"They provoked me first, why don't you ask them to pay?" Su Fan said indignantly.

"They've all been beaten by you. Who knows where they'll get the medical expenses from? Ask them to pay? Do they have the money? Stop talking nonsense, just give me your share." Third Sister would have liked to ask those people to pay, but she knew what kind of people they were. They had to have money first.

Su Fan was too lazy to argue with her.

He pretended to reach into his pocket, took out a piece of silver, and threw it to her.

Third Sister directly caught it, bit it with her teeth, and her face immediately lit up with joy.

"Guest, please wait. I'll give you a pot of good wine!" Third Sister excitedly ran to the kitchen and brought back a wine jar.

"This is my exclusive brew, 'Three Feet Deep.' It's buried three feet underground after brewing and aged for three years. It's very fragrant!" Third Sister extolled the virtues of her wine to Su Fan, as if all the fine wines in the world were inferior to this 'Three Feet Deep.'

The people around, seeing Third Sister take out 'Three Feet Deep,' all looked over, swallowing their saliva.

Su Fan was stunned.

Is this wine really that good? Su Fan became somewhat curious.

"Here, guest, try it first." Without a word, Third Sister opened the wine jar and poured a bowl for Su Fan, then poured another for Chen Fang.

"Third Sister, don't play favorites. Can you give us some too?" The people nearby shamelessly asked Third Sister.

"Go away, go away. Do you have money and still want to drink?" Third Sister unceremoniously covered the wine jar, showing no intention of pouring them any wine.

Those people immediately shook their heads in disappointment.

"Guest, enjoy," Third Sister said after putting down the wine jar and left.

Su Fan sniffed. The wine was fragrant, indeed a rare good wine.

"Want to try?" Su Fan said to Chen Fang.

Seeing that Su Fan had drunk it, Chen Fang didn't suspect anything. He clinked glasses with Su Fan and drank it down in one gulp.

"Good wine!" Chen Fang couldn't help but praise.

The taste was strong at first, and the aftertaste was fine and long. It was indeed a rare and excellent wine!

Su Fan put down the wine bowl, only feeling a slight burn. He didn't know much about wine. It smelled fragrant, but it didn't taste as good.

However, after Su Fan savored it for a while, the aftertaste was surprisingly sweet.

"Another bowl!" Chen Fang couldn't resist the urge to drink and asked Su Fan to pour him another bowl.

Su Fan, on the other hand, had had enough with one bowl and didn't want to drink too much.
