Chapter 458 The Strange Frontline

Su Fan was no longer as shocked by Han Zhongjun's corpse as he had been before. Compared to the scene at the ice mountain, he was mentally prepared.

Han Zhongjun's death was tragic. He was impaled by ice spikes, standing upright with his right hand extended forward, his gaze fixed ahead.

Han Zhongjun was still facing south.

Su Fan's brow furrowed.

Had someone attacked the Ice Snow City, and Han Zhongjun fled with Han Jiangxue, only to be caught by the attackers who killed Han Zhongjun and abducted Han Jiangxue?

Su Fan speculated that Han Jiangxue was abducted because of Han Zhongjun's posture and gaze; there was reluctance and a desire to keep her in his eyes.

Su Fan moved Han Zhongjun's corpse. It was completely frozen, as hard as stone.

Su Fan ignited flames around himself, controlling the temperature to melt the ice and snow on Han Zhongjun's body. He then straightened the corpse, dug a pit in the ground, and buried Han Zhongjun with his head facing the direction of Ice Snow City.

Su Fan didn't know their customs, so he followed the customs of Hua Xia and buried him. Facing the direction of Ice Snow City would allow him to find his way home.

After burying Han Zhongjun, Su Fan continued forward. Soon after, Xu Feng spotted a human-shaped protrusion, conspicuously standing out in the flat snowy plain.

Su Fan scraped away the accumulated snow, revealing Han Jiangxue beneath.

Han Jiangxue was already cold. There was a large hole in her chest, and her heart was gone.

"Who did this? So cruel?"

Su Fan frowned and said.

They had annihilated the entire Ice Snow City, hunted down Han Jiangxue and her father, and then cruelly ripped out Han Jiangxue's heart. Who had such deep hatred for Ice Snow City?

Su Fan found it very strange.

Su Fan dug Han Jiangxue out and held her stiff body in his arms.

He intended to dig a pit and bury Han Jiangxue, just like Han Zhongjun.

"Hmm?"

Suddenly, Su Fan's expression shifted. He puzzledly pulled his right hand out from where it had been inserted into Han Jiangxue.

Su Fan's hand was covered in blood, staining his entire palm.

This would normally be expected, as a lot of blood would be lost after her heart was removed.

But how long had Han Jiangxue been dead? Her blood should have coagulated by now.

Su Fan was perplexed, and he still felt a dampness on his hand.

A thought struck him, and he quickly unbuttoned Han Jiangxue's clothes.

Han Jiangxue's upper body was soon bare before Su Fan.

From the opening in Han Jiangxue's chest, blood was slowly trickling out. Her body was still bleeding!

Su Fan couldn't understand how this was possible.

Su Fan guessed that Han Jiangxue's body was special.

Su Fan immediately used the system to check Han Jiangxue's current information.

Han Jiangxue (Boss)

Level: ???

Health: ???

Status: Missing the Heart of Ice

"Heart of Ice!"

Su Fan was stunned. He only learned today that Han Jiangxue's heart was the Heart of Ice.

What surprised Su Fan even more was that Han Jiangxue was a boss-level creature. Her level and health were all question marks. Su Fan, who was level 70, couldn't even see them. What kind of existence was that?

Su Fan knew that Han Jiangxue's current state was special, and perhaps retrieving the Heart of Ice could save her.

Furthermore, Su Fan now understood the motive of her killer. They were likely after the Heart of Ice.

Su Fan used his flames to burn a pit in the ground. The pit filled with melted ice water, and Su Fan directly placed Han Jiangxue's body inside.

In this extremely low temperature, the icy water quickly turned into ice, encasing Han Jiangxue within.

After completing all this, Su Fan left the area. If he had the chance, he could save Han Jiangxue, provided he could find the Heart of Ice.

On his way, Su Fan passed through the Northern Territory. The Northern Territory was now devastated. City after city had been occupied by the Heavenly Dragon Army. All the people of the Northern Territory had been captured, and anyone who resisted was executed on the spot.

Su Fan frowned deeply. This was the first time he had witnessed the brutality of the Heavenly Dragon Army; he had never seen such a scene before.

Su Fan landed with a solemn expression.

Upon seeing Su Fan, the soldiers of the Heavenly Dragon Army immediately knelt and bowed respectfully.

"Greetings, Lord Su!"

The Heavenly Dragon Army actually recognized Su Fan.

This puzzled Su Fan; he hadn't interacted much with the Heavenly Dragon Army.

"Whose subordinates are you?"

Su Fan asked with a frown.

"Reporting to Lord Su, we are soldiers of the Vanguard Army."

The soldiers answered Su Fan truthfully, without any hesitation, as if Su Fan were their superior.

"Who is your general?"

Su Fan had never heard of the Vanguard Army and continued to ask.

"Our general is General Hu Hao."

The other party mentioned a name that Su Fan didn't recognize.

Su Fan became even more confused. He didn't recognize these troops or people, nor had he interacted with them. How did they know him?

"Have you achieved victory?"

Su Fan curiously watched them march into the cities of the Northern Territory. This was already within the Northern Territory, a long distance from the front lines, which had advanced considerably.

"It's all thanks to you, Lord Su. We are just cleaning up."

The soldiers flattered Su Fan.

"Ah?"

Su Fan was even more bewildered. What did this have to do with him?

"Never mind, never mind. Do you know where General Xia Yuan is?"

Su Fan decided to find Xia Yuan to get some answers.

"General Xia is in the rear military camp, holding his position."

The soldier replied respectfully, with no reservations towards Su Fan.

Su Fan nodded and immediately headed towards the rear military camp.

Watching Su Fan fly away, the soldiers showed looks of admiration.

Su Fan was their idol, a force comparable to an entire army. With a wave of his hand, he could destroy enemy camps. He appeared and disappeared like an immortal in the mortal world.

Su Fan was unaware that he was regarded as an immortal by the soldiers; otherwise, he would have chuckled.

Su Fan flew to the military camp. Upon landing, the soldiers here were as respectful as before.

This greatly puzzled Su Fan.

"Take me to see General Xia."

Su Fan said to a soldier.

"Yes!"

The soldier immediately led Su Fan to Xia Yuan's tent.

Xia Yuan was somewhat surprised to see Su Fan.

He knew that Su Fan was now highly valued by His Majesty, so his arrival at the front line must be for a reason.

"You've come all this way. Is there something His Majesty needs?"

Xia Yuan asked Su Fan with confusion.

"No, I was just passing by and decided to take a look."

Su Fan shook his head and said.

"Oh, are you that idle now?"

Xia Yuan said casually.

"It's alright. You're very impressive. As expected of the Marquis of Pingnan, to have conquered the Northern Territory battlefield so quickly."

Su Fan said with a smile, offering a compliment.

"Hmm? Isn't this all thanks to your contributions? What? Have you come here to show off?"

Xia Yuan was confused by Su Fan's remark and felt a little displeased, thinking Su Fan was trying to flaunt his achievements.
