Chapter 79 Truth or Dare

Wen Xuanyuan dipped a skewer of grilled meat into a bright red sauce, coating it heavily with chili.

It looked spicy, as if infused with roaring flames.

She popped it into her mouth without hesitation, her eyes instantly lighting up.

Breathing heavily from the spiciness, she still savored mouthfuls.

Xia Wantang watched with envy, but ever since her stomach problems last time, Ling Yucheng had been keeping a close watch, forbidding her from eating anything too spicy.

All the chili on the table was consumed by Wen Xuanyuan alone.

She ate until she was drenched in sweat, her face flushed. Though it was exhilarating, she didn't look disheveled.

Her hair was casually tied back, with a few strands falling to her sides, adding a touch of delicate charm. Her fair skin, flushed red, was like a ripe apple, exceptionally alluring.

And her lips, so red they looked like they would bleed, made one yearn to kiss them.

“I want to eat too.”

Xia Wantang swallowed, suddenly finding the grilled skewers in her hand bland.

“You can’t, you have a stomachache.” Wen Xuanyuan chewed her meat, her cheeks puffed out like a little hamster.

Xia Wantang deflated, the table full of delicacies unconnected to her.

Ling Yucheng looked at her pitiful expression and said gently, “We’ll make an exception today. I’ll dip a little chili for you, but not too much.”

“Okay, I’ll eat a little.” Xia Wantang’s face bloomed into a smile.

After craving it for so long, she could finally indulge.

The two girls drank juice and ate barbecue.

Ling Yucheng and the others opened a bottle of red wine.

Ling Yucheng and Li Bowen rarely ate such heavily flavored food. They swirled their red wine, savoring it slowly.

Meanwhile, Jiang Zexi and Xia Wanfu remained standing, feeling the breeze, quietly gazing into the distance.

Situ Jun couldn't stand it any longer and called out to them, “Are you two planning to stand there all night in the wind? If you don’t come, the best opportunities will be gone.”

Jiang Zexi turned back, a hint of a smile in his deep eyes. “We’re coming. Open some strong liquor. We won’t go home until we’re drunk.”

With that, he turned and walked towards them.

Situ Jun indeed opened another bottle of wine, and this one was the highest proof.

He smirked and found a dice cup and two pen holders, the latter filled with slips of paper.

One read “Truth,” the other “Dare.”

“Let’s play Truth or Dare. I’ll roll first. Counting from me, whoever it lands on must choose one. If they don’t choose, they drink. Girls drink the lower-proof red wine, we drink the strong liquor.”

“I like this.” Wen Xuanyuan said eagerly, “Come on, let’s start.”

The others didn’t object.

Situ Jun gave the dice cup a couple of casual shakes and then stopped.

Opening it, he saw a six and a two, totaling eight.

With seven people present, it turned out Situ Jun had rolled himself.

Wen Xuanyuan chuckled ungratefully, her eyes crinkling, her teeth gleaming.

“Truth or Dare?”

Situ Jun said, annoyed, “I choose Truth.”

“My turn, my turn.”

Wen Xuanyuan, full of enthusiasm, and the others had no objections.

Wen Xuanyuan drew a slip of paper from the “Truth” pile and slowly opened it, her face instantly flushing crimson.

What kind of lewd question was written here? How could she possibly say it out loud?

“You ask.”

Wen Xuanyuan shoved the slip into Li Bowen’s hand.

Li Bowen paused for a moment, then watched as Wen Xuanyuan furiously dipped her meat skewer into the chili sauce.

Whether it was the spiciness or something else, her face turned red all the way to the roots of her ears.

He picked up the slip, glanced at it, and saw: “Still a virgin?”

The young lady was bold, but she didn’t have the thick skin to ask such a question.

He placed the slip directly in front of Situ Jun, then raised an eyebrow and looked at him teasingly.

Situ Jun’s face turned beet red. He immediately rolled up the slip, stuffed it back, and said, “Yes. Come on, next round.”

Only Li Bowen and Xia Wanfu knew the content of the slip.

Xia Wantang curiously asked, “What was written on that slip?”

Wen Xuanyuan pursed her lips and perfunctorily replied, “Nothing, come on, next round.”

If she had known the content was so suggestive, she wouldn’t have been so eager.

Who had the audacity to ask a guy if he was a virgin?

Seeing this, Xia Wantang didn’t press further.

Ling Yucheng and Jiang Zexi, of course, wouldn’t deliberately put a girl in a difficult position.

Having been subtly belittled so many times, Xia Wanfu was not one to endure in silence. She said with a faint smile, “Even though it’s a game, we should still follow the rules. What’s the point of playing these guessing games?”

Wen Xuanyuan suddenly looked up, her smile brilliant as she looked at Xia Wanfu, saying word by word, “It says ‘Still a virgin?’ He said yes. Satisfied?”

Wen Xuanyuan was certainly not one to suffer in silence.

She dropped her smile and looked at Situ Jun, saying calmly, “Continue. You roll the dice again.”

Her expression was self-assured and open, making Xia Wanfu seem a bit pushy.

Li Bowen glanced at her, a hint of admiration in his eyes.

Perhaps he was drawn to her straightforward and remarkably genuine demeanor.

This was just a game, and taking it too seriously would be pointless. Xia Wanfu’s expression faltered slightly, but she quickly masked it.

Situ Jun shook the dice cup, again with a couple of casual shakes.

This time it was a two and a three. Counting from him, it landed on Xia Wantang.

Situ Jun asked with a smile, “Sister-in-law, do you choose Truth or Dare?”

“I choose Truth.”

Dare would be difficult to complete, and drinking too much would lead to intoxication. Truth was simpler.

Situ Jun pushed the pen holder towards Xia Wantang. “Sister-in-law, draw one yourself.”

Xia Wantang casually picked a slip of paper and handed it to Situ Jun.

Situ Jun slowly opened it. It read: “When was the last time you kissed?”

He read it aloud with a smirk.

Xia Wantang was too embarrassed to say it out loud.

Ling Yucheng gave Situ Jun a cold glance and said, “This afternoon.”

“Wow, wow!”

Situ Jun and Wen Xuanyuan laughed the loudest.

Xia Wantang, her face red, urged, “What’s so funny? Let’s hurry to the next round.”

Situ Jun intended to tease a bit more, but saw Ling Yucheng’s sharp eyes narrow slightly as he watched him.

This made his heart tighten, and he swallowed the words he was about to say.

He chuckled awkwardly and said, “Let’s continue, Sister-in-law, you roll.”

Xia Wantang took the dice cup and shook it gently twice before opening it.

It was a one and a two.

Counting around, it landed on Li Bowen.

Everyone looked at Li Bowen.

Li Bowen directly picked up his wine glass. “I’ll drink a penalty cup myself.”

“Whoa, whoa, Old Li, that’s no fun.” Situ Jun was clearly a bit dissatisfied.

Li Bowen looked at him and said with a faint smile, “The game rules allow for drinking, right?”

Situ Jun was speechless and could only urge, “ Drink, drink. You drink.”

This guy was relying on his excellent alcohol tolerance, being able to drink endlessly.

He poured a full cup of the highest proof white wine, and Li Bowen drank it down in one gulp without even blinking.

Next, it was his turn to roll the dice.

He rolled a seven, and counting around, it landed on Wen Xuanyuan.
