Chapter 112 Dad, what are you smiling about?

Lan Yuxi asked suspiciously, "Why did he come so early? Is there something urgent?"

Nan Xiao replied, "Probably nothing urgent. He just said he was bringing me some daily necessities."

"As if I would mistreat you..." Lan Yuxi said with a laugh, "Though, I suppose I have neglected you. I didn't prepare anything for you. Look at your beard, it's grown out. You're not handsome at all anymore."

Lan Yuxi reached out to touch his stubbled chin, then quickly withdrew her hand. "Ouch! You pricked me!"

Nan Xiao hurriedly grabbed her hand and, like coaxing a child, brought it to his lips and blew on it. "There, there, it won't hurt anymore."

These two together were barely three and a half years old!

Lan Haolin couldn't bear to watch any longer and pulled his wife's hand, leading her downstairs.

Tang Wan turned back and looked at her daughter and son-in-law with a pleased smile. "Xi'er, you didn't have time to prepare Nan Xiao's daily necessities yesterday. I bought them for you and put them in the storage room. I forgot to give them to you last night."

Lan Yuxi looked gratefully at her mother. Before she could speak, Nan Xiao thanked her first.

"Thank you, Mom."

Lan Yuxi smiled and glanced at him before trotting off to the storage room.

Nan Xiao watched her cheerful figure, a smile involuntarily creeping onto his lips.

Her happiness had always been simple. Just like him, as long as he could hold her close at night and see her when he opened his eyes in the morning, he would be happy all day.

A moment later, Lan Yuxi emerged from the storage room, holding a large storage bin.

Seeing this, Nan Xiao quickly took it. "It's so heavy?"

"There are so many things, and two sets of formal wear. My mom is truly thoughtful!"

As Lan Yuxi spoke, she pushed open the bedroom door.

Nan Xiao had barely stepped inside when he saw their son sitting there with a dejected look.

Nan Xiao paused for a moment, then asked with a smile, "Are you awake?"

Zhao Zhao rubbed his eyes. "Did I sleepwalk?"

"No, I carried you over," Nan Xiao said. He put down the storage bin, took out an electric shaver, and then scooped his son up from the bed with one arm. "Let's go wash up together, Dad."

Zhao Zhao sniffed with his little nose and looked towards his mother.

Lan Yuxi bent down, picked up his small slippers, and handed them to Nan Xiao. "Go to your room with Dad to wash up. Don't wake your sister."

Zhao Zhao resignedly nuzzled into his father's shoulder, his little legs swinging as he was carried out.

Lan Yuxi briefly sorted the items in the storage bin before going to the bathroom to freshen up. When she came out, Mu Mu had already woken up and was talking on the phone, pouting.

Lan Yuxi walked over curiously.

Mu Mu said with her little pink cheeks puffed out, "I know, I'll be there. Goodbye."

After Mu Mu hung up the phone, she threw herself into her mother's arms. "Mommy, Algernon is so annoying. He called me when I was still asleep."

Lan Yuxi smiled and picked up her daughter. "There's a time difference. He might not have calculated the time correctly."

"But he's already in China."

"He's in China? When did he arrive?"

"Late last night. Then he couldn't sleep because of the jet lag and called me, asking me and my brother to go practice with him today."

"Did he say what time?"

Mu Mu scratched her little head, thinking for a long time before saying, "Ten o'clock."

"Ten o'clock, right? Mom will take you there then, and we can treat Algernon to lunch afterwards."

"Where are Dad and brother?"

"They went to your and your brother's room to wash up."

"I want to go too."

"Alright—Mom will take you." Lan Yuxi was about to carry Mu Mu out when her phone rang.

Lan Yuxi's eyes flickered as she looked at the number on the screen. She quickly answered. "Is it Nan Xiangdong? Let him come in. You don't need to call me next time he comes; just let him pass."

After hanging up, Lan Yuxi carried Mu Mu to the children's room.

Seeing her less-than-pleasant expression, Nan Xiao took his daughter from her. "What's wrong?"

Lan Yuxi put on a pained little face. "I'm finding my memory is getting worse and worse. You asked me to call the gatekeeper, and I completely forgot after turning around."

Nan Xiao smiled and ruffled her hair. "It's okay, you were busy with many things this morning. You probably just got distracted. Did Xiangdong arrive?"

"Mm-hmm."

"Tell him to wait a moment. I'll go down after I've finished washing Mu Mu," Nan Xiao said, carrying Mu Mu into the bathroom.

Lan Yuxi pursed her lips and looked at Zhao Zhao, who was examining the electric shaver. "Do you want to go downstairs with Mom?"

Zhao Zhao, holding the shaver, took his mother's hand. "Mom, you could take some medicine to improve your memory."

Lan Yuxi smiled and gently ruffled his little head. "I thought you were only focused on the shaver and didn't hear me."

"I can multitask."

"Yes, Mom knows you're the smartest! What are you doing with the shaver?"

"Just studying it."

Lan Yuxi curved her lips into a smile. Boys really did like things meant for men.

Zhao Zhao's small mouth curled up. "Dad tried it on me just now. It's a pity I don't have a beard yet, but it was quite fun."

As mother and son chatted, they reached the ground floor.

Lan Yuxi's eyes widened slightly as she saw the boxes that occupied half the living room.

Lan Yuxi looked at Nan Xiangdong and asked suspiciously, "Are we moving?"

Nan Xiangdong smiled and said, "Isn't that what's happening? But this is only half of it. I packed for most of the night yesterday to get this much done. Another batch will be delivered tonight. And what about the animals? Where should they be housed? I'll arrange for workers to build some enclosures."

"..." Moving house, with people and animals!

This was too much trouble!

Seeing his mother's silence, Zhao Zhao spoke like a little adult. "Put them in the back mountain. It's farther from the helipad, so they won't be startled by the noise of the planes."

Nan Xiangdong looked at the little one and agreed with an admiring smile, "Of course, Young Master."

Lan Yuxi finally came back to her senses and said to Nan Xiangdong, "You're quite busy. Let the housekeeper arrange for the workers."

"South Corporation has no shortage of construction workers, so this is no trouble at all." Nan Xiangdong gestured to the boxes on the floor. "Where should these go? I'll help carry them upstairs for the boss."

The housekeeper brought over tea. "Mr. Nan, I'll handle these. Please have some tea and rest."

After placing the teacups down, the housekeeper turned to Lan Yuxi. "Miss, would you like to arrange a separate study for Mr. Nan?"

"Give him the large study on the third floor. Clothes and such should go into the walk-in closet in my room. The items in the study should be taken directly to the third floor, but don't touch them. He can deal with them himself when he has time. Also, tell the servants that from now on, no one is allowed to enter Mr. Nan's study for cleaning unless he explicitly permits it."

Nan Xiao stood on the stairs, holding Mu Mu, and smiled with relief as he listened to Lan Yuxi's orderly arrangements.

Mu Mu tilted her little head and asked, "Dad, what are you smiling about?"

"Your mom has grown up. I no longer have to worry every day if she's eating well or sleeping warmly."
