Yu Jing looked at the table. Though aged and marked, it was solid wood, sturdy and thick.
He gently lifted a side, estimating its weight at around sixty to seventy kilograms.
Yu Jing raised his hand, and the solid wood table, weighing sixty to seventy kilograms, flew out—
Silence fell over the table. The man who had slammed his fist on it now shifted his gaze and sat down, "I'll let you off this time, but be more careful next time."
Yu Jing smiled politely, "Alright."
He was about to leave amidst the quiet murmurs.
A crisp voice rang out from behind him, "Who are you telling to be careful?"
Di Shishi's temper flared. For some reason, she felt indignant whenever she saw someone bullying Yu Jing.
She stood up and slammed her palm onto the table.
With a *crack*, the table she had been eating at collapsed.
The people at Young Master Bian's table fell into complete silence.
What kind of people were these!
This was a solid wood table, wasn't it? It was definitely a solid wood table, right?
Di Shishi glared furiously at them, pointing at the man who had been shouting at Yu Jing.
"You, apologize!"
Yu Jing stopped, turning to look at Di Shishi with a hint of a smile in his eyes.
The man coughed a few times and looked towards his boss, Young Master Bian.
The young man, eighteen or nineteen, was full of youthful vigor. He had already fallen on his backside, and now he was being told to apologize?
He blazed with anger, "You bumped into us first, why should we apologize to you!"
"Reasoning?" Di Shishi narrowed her eyes, pulled a dagger from her waist, and with a *thwack*, pinned it onto the table in front of Young Master Bian. The dagger sank deep into the tabletop.
"I don't do reasoning. Will you apologize or not?"
The depth of the dagger looked as if it had been hammered in, standing there steadily.
Young Master Bian pursed his lips and reached out to pull it out, but it wouldn't budge.
Di Shishi had already walked up to him.
What kind of strong woman was this?
That man no longer dared to look at Young Master Bian's expression. He knew he had offended someone he couldn't afford to offend and became obedient.
"Yes, sorry."
Di Shishi snorted, "Let's go."
She said this to Yu Jing and then strode out with an air of utmost importance.
Yu Jing's eyes held a smile. As he passed Young Master Bian's table, he casually pulled out the dagger from the tabletop and left.
The group stared, their eyes wide with shock in that direction.
"Young Master Bian, who are these people?"
"How should I know!"
In a small inn.
Gu Qishen carried Qin He into the room.
Qin He struggled slightly, "What are you doing?"
As soon as they entered the room, Gu Qishen closed the door and pressed her directly against it.
Qin He tried to move, but a large hand immediately grabbed her wrists, pinning them above her head.
Gu Qishen leaned close to her, "Do you like younger men?"
Qin He coughed lightly, "Where did you learn that term?"
"Is it?" Gu Qishen's breath brushed against her ear.
With her hands held captive, Qin He felt Gu Qishen's leg slide between hers, pinning her against the door as if nailed there.
"I only glanced once!" Qin He protested.
Gu Qishen let out a cold laugh and buried his face in her neck, "Darling, you were so engrossed in your gaze."
Gu Qishen rarely called her "darling." This time, however, it sent a sense of danger through Qin He.
She immediately put on an innocent expression, "I wasn't looking at people; I was listening to their stories."
"What story do you want to hear? I'll tell you."
Qin He knew she couldn't avoid this.
Biting her lip and steeling her heart, she directly kissed him.
This move was highly effective. Gu Qishen's movements paused slightly. Qin He immediately took the opportunity to break free from his grasp and hugged his waist before he could react.
Half-sitting on one of Gu Qishen's legs, Qin He kissed him with great seriousness.
Her hands traced his waist, then moved up to his chest, lingered on his neck, and finally lightly tickled behind his ear.
When the kiss ended, Qin He cupped Gu Qishen's chin.
"Does Mr. Gu lack confidence in his charm? Forget younger or older, puppy or cub, to me, you're more alluring than anyone."
Qin He inwardly cursed herself; these words were the epitome of an evolved sycophant, a wolf among the sycophants.
But evidently, Gu Qishen seemed to appreciate it.
He stared at her, the corner of his lips curling up, "Can you be like this normally?"
"What?"
Qin He's lips were already being covered.
This rare instance of主动勾引 (active seduction), Gu Qishen felt it would be a disservice to himself to hold back now.
The passionate kiss was heart-pounding. Qin He felt that if it continued, things would escalate further.
"Gu Qishen, we still have important matters to attend to!" she managed to say amidst the kiss.
The end of her words was swallowed as Gu Qishen rested his forehead on her shoulder and neck, breathing heavily for a few moments.
Qin He let out a low chuckle, "I didn't expect you to be so jealous, Mr. Gu."
As she spoke, she felt a slight pain on her neck. Gu Qishen gave a gentle nibble before kissing her neck.
A few seconds later, a red "imprint" appeared on Qin He's neck. Gu Qishen had kissed very high up. Qin He's eyes widened, and she stared in the bathroom mirror for a long time.
Finally, she went out and tied a silk scarf around her neck with a determined air.
She was annoyed and nearly choked herself while tying it.
"How am I supposed to go out like this?" Qin He glared at Gu Qishen.
Gu Qishen had already returned to his usual demeanor. He glanced at her scarf, "This scarf doesn't look good."
"You should say you like whatever I wear," Qin He retorted.
Gu Qishen's eyes twinkled with amusement, "I think I like you even more when you wear nothing."
Qin He: ...
Had a new door opened in the heart of this ice-block man, Gu Qishen?
After packing their things, Qin He sent a message to Di Shishi, asking if she was ready, as they would begin scouting the area today.
Di Shishi had already returned from the restaurant. When they went out, Di Shishi had changed into a windbreaker.
Although the desert was hot, the sunlight was more damaging. All four of them were wearing windbreakers. Yu Jing walked over with several work badges.
A blue lanyard held a rectangular badge.
Qin He took it, her expression showing surprise.
"Archaeological team work permits?"
"Yes, Miss Qin. Although we don't have a convoy, we do have quite a few people and two vehicles, along with a lot of detection equipment. If we aren't prepared, the local residents might mistake us for trespassers."
Grave robbers, or perhaps illegal miners?
Qin He thought for a moment and hung it around her neck, "This badge is quite convincing."
Yu Jing chuckled, "It is genuine."
As they walked and talked, Qin He understood that Gu Qishen's preparations had indeed received permission from an archaeological team, and they were now joining it.
He would provide funding for the archaeological team, and if anything was discovered this time, the follow-up would be handed over to the archaeological team.
In essence, they were contributing to the country without compensation, so the four of them were now vanguard members of the archaeological team.
Qin He was delighted, never expecting to have another archaeological alias.
Yu Jing also affixed the archaeological team's insignia to the two vehicles. Gu Qishen drove one, with Yu Jing and Di Shishi following in the other.
