Chapter 135 The Treacherous Heart

Qin He placed her phone on the table, rotated it, and pushed it towards Ji Xiangchen.

On the screen, several one-minute voice memos were clearly displayed.

As soon as Ji Xiangchen’s words began to sound off, Qin He tapped the voice message button.

She had to let Shen Yilin understand the true nature of the friends and brothers around him.

Ji Xiangchen’s expression changed abruptly!

Qin He reached out and tapped Shen Yilin’s contact name: Younger Brother.

“See?”

“Miss Qin, do you think you might have misunderstood something?” Ji Xiangchen’s face turned pale, his voice filled with a hint of panic.

What if these conversations were exposed by Shen Yilin?

His carefully constructed persona at school would be ruined!

It was like losing a horse while trying to win a battle.

Qin He sneered, “I don’t think I’ve misunderstood anything. It’s just that Qingda University has always been outstanding, and I didn’t realize that Qingda students have started offering themselves up. Especially when you’re a boy, is this path suitable for you?”

Qin He’s voice was cold and stern, “Instead of playing these games, you should focus on your studies. What is all this nonsense? Get out, and don’t disturb my mood!”

Ji Xiangchen’s face paled, and he glanced at a few girls not far away who were looking in their direction.

The phone on the table beeped softly. It was Shen Yilin returning the voice call.

Ji Xiangchen shot up, gritting his teeth, “Excuse me!”

As he stood up to leave, Qin He had already answered the call, and Shen Yilin’s voice was incredibly low, “Sister, where are you?”

Qin He watched Ji Xiangchen’s retreating figure. “Yilin, when you make friends in the future, have better judgment. Don’t befriend just anyone. Consider me your sister, teaching you about the dangers of the world this time.”

The dangers of the world?

Ji Xiangchen clenched his fists, feeling he had been too careless today.

He gritted his teeth and returned to his group of friends. Several girls immediately gathered around him.

“Ji Xiangchen, how did your chat with Miss Qin go?”

Ji Xiangchen’s voice was icy, “Not well.”

Thinking of Qin He’s actions just now, it was like she had slapped him directly in the face!

Ji Xiangchen’s heart was filled with hatred as he looked at the girls and said coldly, “Shen Yilin and Qin He’s relationship is indeed unusual.”

He didn’t mention the sibling relationship, deliberately phrasing it in a way that suggested a different meaning.

The girls gasped softly. Ji Xiangchen said coldly, “However, it’s best if you don’t spread this around. For your own safety, just pretend you don’t know anything.”

The girls immediately looked panicked, “What? Miss Qin threatened you?!”

Ji Xiangchen put down his wine glass, his face filled with indignation. “I initially thought those were just rumors. Even if they weren’t, I thought it was love. Unexpectedly, this Miss Qin, upon seeing me, wanted to—”

He put on an expression of being humiliated, and immediately a girl exclaimed, letting her imagination run wild.

“Miss Qin isn’t interested in you, is she!” Ji Xiangchen’s expression suddenly tightened, and his voice turned colder. “A gentleman can be killed, but not insulted. A man ultimately has to rely on himself. I am not someone who can be swayed by money!”

The girl who spoke had secretly admired Ji Xiangchen for a long time. Her family business was large, making her a wealthy heiress.

Hearing his words, she admired Ji Xiangchen even more, and at the same time, she felt disgusted by Qin He.

“Ji Xiangchen, this is just how things are among the wealthy families. Don’t be angry, but not everyone is like that!”

Ji Xiangchen’s expression softened slightly. “I know, Tingting.”

On the sofa, Qin He, always perceptive, soon sensed a few unfriendly gazes.

She looked up and saw that among the Qingda students in the distance, a few girls were looking at her with contempt, and some with anger.

She raised an eyebrow slightly, guessing that Ji Xiangchen must have said something after returning.

But Qin He couldn’t be bothered. She didn’t care too much about what others thought. If she did, she wouldn’t have been able to survive being tricked by Song Nuan so many times.

Qin He continued to chat with Shen Yilin intermittently.

Cheers erupted around the stage in the center of the venue. Qin He looked up.

Gu Ranran, the protagonist of today’s birthday banquet, made her entrance. Her small face was smiling adorably and happily. Gu Qichen stood beside her, in a protective stance.

Ming Xue was also beside Gu Ranran, and they were talking about something.

A smile appeared on Qin He’s face. Although Gu Ranran was proud, her heart was not bad, as evidenced by the fight at school before.

It was good for Ming Xue to have a friend with a similar disposition, lest she feel lonely in Qingcheng.

Everyone present had come to attend Gu Ranran’s birthday banquet, so she naturally had to give a speech of thanks.

However, her words were stuttered, clearly memorized from a prepared script, and lacked sincerity.

Qin He chuckled. Such a Gu Ranran was quite endearing.

“He’er!”

A voice called out. Qin He turned to look.

It was Xu Wanwan, running over with her skirt in hand.

“I’ve been looking for you for a while and was just about to call you.”

With Xu Wanwan here, Qin He was no longer bored and sat on the sofa with her, chatting.

Xu Wanwan’s conversation revolved around Qin Yun, and in her indignation, she cursed in a low voice, “Don’t you think your brother is an absolute scumbag? He heard that I was dating Yan Chen, and he rushed to Haicheng to drag me back. I initially thought he was jealous! But after bringing me back to Qingcheng, he stopped answering my calls and treated me like air. What on earth does he want?”

Xu Wanwan was so angry she wished she could crush the wine glass in her hand.

Qin He looked at her gritting her teeth in exasperation and comforted her, “My brother still cares about you. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have brought you back. He’s still jealous.”

“He’s jealous, but he seems to have a serious illness!” Xu Wanwan gnashed her teeth in anger. “If your brother continues like this, I won’t bother with him anymore. I’m the eldest daughter of the Xu family, after all. It’s easy for me to find a boyfriend!”

Even though she said that, the look of unwillingness and her puffed-up cheeks revealed her true feelings.

Qin He felt a little helpless. She had already promised her brother not to tell Wanwan his secret.

For their relationship, she could only silently try to help from the sidelines.

After a while, Lu Mingxi finally disengaged himself and walked over.

“Oh, Miss Xu has arrived.”

Xu Wanwan was still indignant. Seeing Lu Mingxi, Qin Yun’s close friend, she felt he was also a scumbag and snorted without acknowledging him.

Lu Mingxi was unperturbed. He sat on the opposite sofa and smiled, “What’s wrong? Who has offended Miss Xu? Qin Yun?”

“Don’t mention his name!”

Lu Mingxi chuckled. As Qin Yun’s good friend, he was well aware of their love-hate relationship.
