Chapter 26 Bro, Don't You Want to Invest in Me?

Qin family.

Qin He was soaking in the bathtub.

The air carried faint scents, precisely the plum blossom fragrance of Princess Shouyang, blended by Qin He using ancient perfumery.

She remembered the deep sandalwood scent on Gu Qishen’s person. The first time she smelled it, that light, steady woody aroma had already captured some of her attention.

Qin He recognized it as her own handiwork.

Thinking back, she had truly devoted herself to Gu Qishen for the past two years.

Perhaps to prevent her from looking back and stepping in something unpleasant, her brother would occasionally mention past events with a look of disappointment that she didn’t live up to her potential.

From snippets of conversation, Qin He gleaned hints of the past, largely that she had lived a frugal life after marrying Gu Qishen while concealing her identity.

Qin Yun had wanted to help, but Qin He, fearing exposure, had refused.

Not only frugal, but she had likely endured much hardship.

Alas.

After finishing her bath and drying her hair, Qin He returned to her bedroom.

Her bedroom was connected to a small study. As she stepped out, she heard music emanating from the study.

It was the alarm music she had set.

Qin He frowned and entered the study.

A red alert box popped up on the computer screen, indicating someone was attempting to break into her data encryption system.

She loosely tied up her hair, sat down at the computer, and her fingers flew across the keyboard. After a brief flurry of typing, she successfully accessed the intruder’s backend.

All her online data had been personally encrypted by her. This time, the identity the other party was trying to break into belonged to Jiang Huailin.

Qin He, incensed, laughed mockingly. "Excellent."

It was obvious who was behind this!

Gu Qishen, having been rebuffed by Jiang Huailin, still hadn't given up!

What did he want by investigating her whereabouts?

After counter-invading the other party's computer, Qin He traced the IP address to Gu Corporation.

She decided to give Gu Qishen a stern warning. She found a photo of him during an interview online, slightly edited it, and uploaded it to Gu Corporation's official website.

Having done all that, Qin He further reinforced her defenses and then, with great satisfaction, left the room.

Once she was tucked into bed, she picked up her phone and sent a message to Li Feng'an.

Gu Qishen, for Song Nuan's sake, might continue to investigate her. Although they hadn't succeeded yet, Qin He didn't dare underestimate Gu Corporation's capabilities.

Gu Corporation's current flourishing state under Gu Qishen was a testament to his exceptional personal ability.

Qin He typed: [Director Li, I need to discuss something.]

Li Feng'an: [What is it, Brother Jiang? Feel free to say.]

Qin He's eyes curved into a smile: [Let's change the investor for "Jiang Yue Xing."]

Li Feng'an: [!! Jiang Huailin! Do you know how difficult it is to find investors?!]

Qin He: [With your reputation, wouldn't investors be lining up with money for you?]

Li Feng'an: [This is a big production, with enormous costs. There are very few companies in China daring enough to venture into this!]

Qin He: It's fine, I'll be the investor.

After a few seconds of silence, Li Feng'an sent a question mark.

Qin He confidently sent a smiley face: [I've found an investor for you, Qin Corporation.]

Qin Corporation invested in many ventures and also had a presence in the film and television industry.

Changing investors was a major undertaking, and contracts had already been signed, potentially incurring financial losses.

Qin He assured Li Feng'an that all losses would be borne by Qin Corporation and directly passed on Qin Yun's WeChat contact before lying down to rest.

The next morning.

Qin He was yanked out of bed by her brother. Qin Yun was furious.

"You forwarded my WeChat to Li Feng'an?"

"Yes, I asked him to find you to invest in my "Jiang Yue Xing."" Qin He blinked her eyes innocently. "Brother, you don't want to invest in me?"

Qin Yun knew that Jiang Huailin was Qin He.

But—

"Can't you do things by the book! This kind of investment needs to be sent to the investment department for research first, and then select executives for negotiation. You just forwarded me your WeChat?"

Qin He blinked: "I was originally thinking of just asking for a bank account number."

Qin Yun was angry, glaring at his sister.

His anger gradually subsided.

"If you had said earlier that I would invest, you wouldn't listen. You insisted on finding Li Feng'an, and then having him find investors. So troublesome."

Qin He propped her chin with her hand and smiled: "Mainly because he found Gu Corporation, and Gu Corporation wanted Song Nuan to act in it—"

She explained the entire situation: "I was afraid Gu Qishen would harass me again over this matter. If he found out Jiang Huailin was me, who knows what he might do, and how he might find our family?"

Upon hearing this, Qin Yun's face immediately darkened. "He can dream on! I'm investing in this drama, no matter the cost!"

Even if throwing money at it wouldn't make a splash, he would never let that scumbag harm his sister again!

Qin Yun left indignantly to attend a meeting at the company to discuss the investment in "Jiang Yue Xing."

Qin He was free to do as she pleased. She took out her phone and called Xu Wanwan.

"Wanwan, want to get together for lunch?"

On the other end, Xu Wanwan whined pitifully, "I can't go out. My dad has grounded me for a month."

"Why?"

"Last time he withheld my card, I sold that Zisha teapot he bought in the capital—"

Qin He remembered the teapot was worth millions and clicked her tongue. "Sister, I have to say, you're really brave."

Since Xu Wanwan couldn't come out and Qin He had nothing much going on, she picked up "Wan Fang Lun" and started reading.

By the afternoon, she got up and went out shopping.

On her way back, she happened to pass by Qing University. With nothing else to do and calculating the time, she figured Shen Yilin's class would be ending soon. So, she drove to the entrance of Qing University, planning to give him a ride home to the Qin residence.

Qing University had open management, and the afternoon was a good time for leisurely strolls and dates.

Students without classes were entering and exiting.

Qin He sat in her car, watching the couples passing by.

Her G-wagon was considered low-key among the Qin family's cars, but parked in front of Qing University, a car worth millions was somewhat eye-catching.

"Probably another rich second generation coming to pick up some girl," a hushed voice was heard. Qin He didn't roll down her window, a smile playing on her lips.

Her student days were short. She had only attended university for a year, completing all her courses.

Now, looking at these youthful, vibrant faces, she still felt a sense of envy.

Qin He took out her phone, about to send a message to Shen Yilin, when she received one from him first.

Shen Yilin: Sis, I have something today, can I take a day off?

Qin He nonchalantly replied: Sure.

She started the car, intending to leave, when she saw a familiar figure emerge from the school gate.

Shen Yilin's tall, lean frame was agile, with an aloof demeanor. There were red and blue marks around his mouth.

Qin He's brows immediately furrowed.

This was what he meant by having something?

She pursed her lips and lowered the car window slightly.

Two young girls followed behind Shen Yilin, looking worried.

"Shen Yilin, you should really go to the school infirmary."

"Oh dear, it's just your temper. Wang Hao said the eldest daughter of the Qin family didn't say anything to you, so why did you get into a fight with him! His brother is in the underworld; he definitely won't let you off!"

Shen Yilin ignored the two, his face ashen.

Qin He caught a whiff of the situation.

She got out of the car and silently followed. Not long after Shen Yilin left the school grounds, several young men who had been lurking behind some roadside food stalls stood up and surrounded him.

"Brother, it's him! He's Shen Yilin!"
