Chapter 52 As a Partner He Was Excellent

Shen Yilin was sent back to Qing University, and Qin He returned home.

The next morning, she got up early and went to Qin's. In the afternoon, she had to go to the joint department in the West District. Qin He planned to finish the company's daily affairs in the morning.

After a busy morning with Zhou Yang and a regular meeting, it was time for lunch.

Qin He called Shen Bin, the dean of Qingcheng First Hospital. She had been busy the past few days and hadn't had time to visit her brother in the hospital at night.

Hearing that Qin Yun's condition was improving, she felt relieved.

"Professor Harlan, you asked for Shen Yicong's medical records last time. How is your research progressing?" The dean's voice was hesitant yet expectant.

Qin He had studied Shen Yicong's situation. His condition was still unstable, and the blood clot in his brain might change.

"Let's talk about it later, depending on the situation."

It would be best to perform surgery when his condition was stable.

Qin He did not tell Shen Yilin about her plan to operate on Shen Yicong. She was also busy with project matters during this period, and she was pregnant.

A few months later would be the best time for surgery.

After hanging up, Qin He had lunch and asked Zhou Yang to stay at the company while she drove to the West District alone.

The streets in the West District were complex and winding. It was already two o'clock in the afternoon when Qin He arrived.

The joint department was converted from a shopping mall. As it had just been established, there was no sign yet.

After entering, Qin He saw people from various departments. Temporary partitions were made of glass.

She hadn't been there for long when Yu Jing walked out.

"President Qin, you're here. General Manager Gu has been waiting for you."

Passing through the corridor lined with glass offices on both sides, they reached the innermost part, which contained two offices.

Yu Jing introduced Qin He, "The one on the right is yours. General Manager Gu usually stays on the left, but he's waiting for you now."

Qin He looked at the transparent glass and frowned, "Did you not consider privacy when installing the partitions?"

The middle of the two offices was also glass. If she wanted to slack off, she would be exposed to Gu Qichen's gaze.

No, she would have Zhou Yang buy a large screen tomorrow to block this area.

Following Yu Jing into Gu Qichen's office, there was a large desk in the center.

Gu Qichen was leaning over the desk, looking at a drawing, his hands propped on the table, his sleeves rolled up to his arms, revealing his strong lines.

He leaned slightly forward, his dark eyes focused.

"General Manager Gu, President Qin is here," Yu Jing said.

When Gu Qichen turned his head, Qin He was secretly amazed by his strong visual appeal.

"You're here."

"Yes, is there any problem?"

Qin He walked to the desk and looked at the drawings. On the desk was a large topographic map of the West District, but it was much more detailed than those on the market, with even minute altitude changes marked.

Gu Qichen pointed to a spot, "This area was originally planned as a school site, but the surveyors didn't find an ancient building there, which has made things complicated. I'd like to hear your opinion."

Qin He crossed her arms and stared for a moment, "What kind of ancient building is it?"

Yu Jing immediately reported the situation. It was the former residence of a poet named Zhang. It wasn't particularly famous in the grand sweep of history, but for Qingcheng, it was different.

Qin He squinted and looked for a while, her expression becoming focused. "This is a bit troublesome."

Gu and Qin had discussed this, and both agreed to build the school in this area. She thought for a moment, "How about we directly renovate this ancient house and preserve it within the school?"

Gu Qichen fell into deep thought, "Then the school might have to be expanded beyond its original design."

They talked seriously, not realizing they were getting closer and closer as they leaned in to look at the school site.

"Expanding it a bit is not a problem," Qin He said after thinking for a moment, looking up.

The woody scent of the man's body wafted into her nose, her nose almost brushing against his chest.

Gu Qichen was also slightly startled, his heart skipped a beat.

One of them was looking down, the other looking up.

Gu Qichen could almost see the fine hairs on Qin He's face and her burning eyes.

They both froze. Qin He reacted first, took a step back, and said in a low voice, "Sorry, I didn't notice."

As the distance widened, Gu Qichen's eyes deepened slightly.

"It's okay," his voice carried an inexplicable emotion.

After deciding to include the Zhang family's old house in the school, Qin He returned to her office.

Although she was here to supervise, there wasn't much work. She just needed to patrol occasionally and listen to the progress reports from the people in charge.

As soon as she got back to her office, Qin He called Zhou Yang. She had originally planned to install a screen, but then she thought it was too troublesome and instead asked Zhou Yang to send a secretary with some frosted stickers for the glass.

To avoid looking too conspicuous, Qin He instructed that the lower half of all the partition glass in the joint department should be frosted.

At five o'clock in the afternoon, Gu Qichen watched as workers used sandpaper to block his view in the adjacent office little by little.

His face darkened.

Yu Jing stood beside him, "General Manager Gu—"

Gu Qichen frowned. Part of the reason he asked Qin He to come to the joint department was to figure out his inexplicable concern for her.

Gu Qichen, who had always been invincible in the business world, knew the importance of knowing oneself and the enemy. Therefore, he decided to approach Qin He first before analyzing.

But now, his mood was inexplicably restless again.

Gu Qichen turned to Yu Jing, "What is it?"

"Miss Song's assistant just called. She said Miss Song had a heart attack and was hospitalized, and she wanted you to visit her."

Gu Qichen's expression turned colder. He had broken up with Song Nuan yesterday, and today she had a heart attack.

He picked up his phone and looked at it. Song Nuan knew he disliked being bothered by phone calls and had sent dozens of messages yesterday.

Yu Jing asked, "General Manager Gu, are you going to visit her?"

"No," Gu Qichen said indifferently. If he didn't go, Song Nuan might "recover" faster.

When it was time to get off work, Qin He left right on time.

A few minutes after she left, Gu Qichen, with a dark expression, left the joint department with Yu Jing.

Qingcheng First Hospital, Cardiology Department.

Song Nuan sat on the hospital bed. Her assistant stood beside her, "Sister Nuan Nuan, it's time for your IV drip again. Do you want to go to the restroom first?"

"What IV drip? Gu Qichen hasn't even come. What's the use of me getting an IV drip!" Song Nuan roared furiously. "What did you tell him? Why isn't he coming to see me!"

The little assistant was flustered, her voice weak, "I called Assistant Yu. Assistant Yu replied that General Manager Gu has been busy lately and doesn't have time—"

"Busy?!" Song Nuan gritted her teeth. This was just an excuse!

"Lately, Gu's and Qin's are jointly renovating the West District. General Manager Gu might be busy with that," the little assistant said in a low voice.

"Qin's! It must be that Qin He's scheme again, trying to seduce Gu Qichen. I never realized this bitch had such tricks!"

Song Nuan clenched the quilt tightly, "No, I can't just sit here and do nothing. I must be discharged!"

"But you were just admitted last night."

Song Nuan's face turned cold, "What did you say?"

The little assistant fell silent, "Then, then I'll go handle your discharge."

"Call the driver to pick me up. You can handle the discharge procedures slowly!"

Song Nuan came out of the ward and walked all the way to the hospital entrance. People on the roadside recognized her from time to time.

"Isn't that Song Nuan? That celebrity, she looks just like her!"

"It's that green tea!"
