By this time, there was practically no one left in the cafeteria.
When Da Xiong arrived, he found the cafeteria packing up and about to close.
Having no choice, and being extremely hungry, Da Xiong went up to ask what was still available to eat.
"Only bread and steamed buns, but they're cold," the cafeteria staff apologized.
Having worked at the new recruit training base for a while, the cafeteria staff knew that these young disciples from prominent families rarely found the regular meals to their liking.
Much less these cold steamed buns that others had left behind.
So, they figured Da Xiong wouldn't want them.
But Da Xiong replied, "Then give me a few."
The cafeteria staff looked at Da Xiong in surprise, nearly dropping their jaws.
"What's wrong? Aren't there still steamed buns left?" Da Xiong asked, touching his stomach, a bit exasperated.
"Yes, yes, I'll pack them for you, but the machines are all turned off, so I can't heat them up." Hearing this, the cafeteria staff quickly packed the remaining buns and handed them to Da Xiong. The machines were steam-powered, and it would take a while to turn them back on.
Since they were closing, restarting the machines for a few buns would likely earn the staff member a scolding tomorrow!
So, she could only look at Da Xiong apologetically.
Da Xiong took the steamed buns, gnawing on them as he waved his hand, indicating he didn't mind.
Then he turned to leave.
With the steamed buns in his stomach, he felt much better.
However, eating steamed buns alone was quite dry.
Da Xiong continued to gnaw on the buns as he headed towards the convenience store, intending to see if there were any drinks for sale.
However, as soon as he stepped out.
A dark shadow flashed before Da Xiong's eyes!
Da Xiong blinked and looked carefully, but there was no one in the corner.
"Did I just imagine it?"
Da Xiong muttered to himself.
Still, he lifted his foot and unconsciously took a few steps in the direction the shadow had disappeared.
Soon after.
Da Xiong saw Zhang Shaohua hiding in a dark corner, peeking around.
He looked like he was about to do something mischievous.
Da Xiong immediately confirmed that he hadn't imagined it; that shadow was Zhang Shaohua!
Thinking of this, Da Xiong followed him.
He wanted to see what kind of trouble Zhang Shaohua was planning.
It had to be said, Zhang Shaohua's agility was indeed quite good.
At least, he was faster than Da Xiong.
Several times, Da Xiong had to juggle eating steamed buns and tailing Zhang Shaohua.
He almost lost him!
Fortunately, Da Xiong finished the steamed buns, discarded the wrappers, and was then able to keep pace with Zhang Shaohua.
Zhang Shaohua deliberately chose paths that were blind spots for the surveillance cameras, clearly trying to avoid something.
Anyone would believe something suspicious was going on!
Da Xiong suspiciously followed behind Zhang Shaohua, quite puzzled.
What was this kid doing out of bed so late at night?
If Zhang Shaohua intended to retaliate against Da Xiong, this direction was wrong.
The new recruits' dormitories were in the opposite direction, and where Zhang Shaohua was heading seemed to be the area where the observation team rested.
Da Xiong made up his mind to see what Zhang Shaohua was up to and followed closely behind him.
After passing a small green belt.
He arrived at the resting area for the observation team.
This area contained the resting rooms for the various members of the observation team, most of whom were protectors from different families.
Zhang Shaohua peeked around for a while before approaching Zhou Yu's room.
At first, Da Xiong didn't realize this was Zhou Yu's room.
He only knew that Zhang Shaohua had stopped at the doorway for a long time.
So, he moved closer suspiciously.
Then he saw Zhang Shaohua take out some powder from his pocket and sprinkle it on the ground in front of Zhou Yu's door.
"What is he doing?" Da Xiong was completely bewildered.
He couldn't possibly think Zhang Shaohua suspected the person inside was a snake spirit and was sprinkling realgar powder at the door.
If it were poison, how would sprinkling it at the door poison anyone?
Next, Zhang Shaohua's actions sent a chill down Da Xiong's spine.
He saw Zhang Shaohua take out a small tube and begin to blow the powder through the crack of the door into the room!
Instantly, Da Xiong understood Zhang Shaohua's intention.
Even if the substance on the ground wasn't poison, it was at least a sleeping drug.
In any case, it wasn't anything good.
It seemed Zhang Shaohua intended to poison the person inside the room!
In a moment of urgency.
Da Xiong stepped forward in three strides, directly patting Zhang Shaohua on the shoulder, and coldly asked, "What are you doing?"
Zhang Shaohua, already guilty and sneaking around, was startled by the sudden pat and almost jumped.
He suddenly looked up at Da Xiong and immediately blurted out, "Are you sick?"
Da Xiong pointed to the powder still on the ground and asked with a stern face, "I saw everything you just did. You'd better tell me honestly!"
Da Xiong had expected that after hearing this, Zhang Shaohua would admit his mistake.
At the very least, he would frantically try to clean up the evidence on the ground!
Who would have thought that Zhang Shaohua would just roll his eyes and brazenly say, "Tell you what? I just got lost and came to look around."
"Lost? Then why were you sprinkling powder at someone else's door?" Da Xiong's brows furrowed.
To think Zhang Shaohua was still trying to lie his way out of this!
As Zhang Shaohua opened his mouth to fabricate a story.
Suddenly, the door opened.
Zhou Yu stood at the doorway, looking at the two of them with a sigh.
He was about to rest for the night when he heard the noise of two people arguing outside his door.
It disturbed Zhou Yu's rest, forcing him to come out and see what was happening.
When he came out, he saw Zhang Shaohua and Da Xiong at his door!
"Why are you two making noise at my door so late at night?" Zhou Yu asked, his face grim.
Da Xiong immediately pointed to the powder on the ground and complained to Zhou Yu, "Divine Doctor Zhou, I just came out for a late-night snack and saw this kid sneaking around, sprinkling powder at your door."
"He definitely has bad intentions!"
As he finished speaking, Zhang Shaohua glared fiercely at Da Xiong and said, "You're lying. It was you who was sneaking around at the door, and I discovered you!"
Now, it was Da Xiong's turn to glare.
He never expected that with the evidence right there, Zhang Shaohua would try to turn the tables!
Just as Da Xiong was about to retort.
He saw Zhou Yu suddenly crouch down, scoop some of the powder from the ground with his hand, and bring it to his nose.
"This is poison!" Zhou Yu stated with certainty, then collected the powder and looked sharply at Zhang Shaohua.
A hint of guilt flashed across Zhang Shaohua's face.
He immediately shouted, "Why are you looking at me? I didn't do it!"
"If you didn't do it, why were you at my door?" Zhou Yu asked coldly.
It seemed this Zhang Shaohua was truly malicious.
He stayed up late at night, specifically coming to his door to poison him!
