Chapter 184: Chapter 184: No Death, No Rest
Sophie Wilson is not only his chosen candidate for the second female lead, but she is also Julian Campbell’s aunt by marriage.
For both personal and professional reasons, he has to stand by Sophie Wilson.
Ophelia Wilson’s expression changed slightly. She forced a smile and said, "Teacher Smith, don’t be so hasty. As for Grace, she’s indeed very hardworking. Can you give her a chance?"
"Isn’t the role of the third female lead still undecided?" Ophelia Wilson’s words elicited a snort from Benjamin Smith, who waved his hand and said, "I only care about the second female lead; the other directors are responsible for the rest."
"Is there any issue with the candidate for the second female lead? Get the contract signed soon." Benjamin Smith turned to ask the director.
The director nodded. With Benjamin Smith blocking Ophelia Wilson’s influence, he didn’t have to struggle, and he was naturally pleased to sign an actor suited for the role.
"Sophie Wilson doesn’t have an agent. Later, I’ll have my agent look over the contract." Julian Campbell, naturally intending to protect his aunt, took on the matter himself.
Grace Wilson stood aside, her gaze fiercely fixed on the departing figure of Sophie Wilson. She wished she could stab a few holes into her, letting her die miserably on the spot; only then would she feel satisfied.
Ophelia Wilson, on the other hand, was negotiating with the director and the producers. With her influence and since the third female lead wasn’t a particularly significant role, the director and the producers didn’t refuse her face.
After the role was determined, Ophelia Wilson then left with Grace Wilson.
"Ophelia, I’m really sorry. I embarrassed you." Grace Wilson apologized softly, knowing full well the effort Ophelia Wilson had invested in her during this time.
However, she still failed.
"It’s not your fault." Ophelia Wilson sighed lightly, "I underestimated her. She’s aiming to eradicate you completely."
"But how did she find out about your intentions to enter the entertainment industry? Not only did she seize your family’s assets, but she also wants to block your last path?" Ophelia Wilson shook her head helplessly, sighing softly, "She truly is ruthless."
"Grace, what little help I can provide you really isn’t much, I’m sorry." Apologetic words from Ophelia Wilson left Grace Wilson feeling overwhelmed, and she hurriedly shook her head, "Ophelia, you’ve already helped me tremendously."
"It’s a pity I didn’t anticipate Sophie Wilson..." Ophelia Wilson’s sigh carried too much weight, leaving Grace Wilson very uncomfortable.
"The second female lead role in this drama is quite outstanding. If she plays it, it will definitely be popular, not necessarily immensely popular, but at least a moderate success for sure. When that time comes, I fear your future in the entertainment industry will be even harder."
Ophelia Wilson frustratingly smacked her forehead, "Look at me, really. Why did I insist on getting you the third female lead role? I was only thinking I could look after you on the crew and forgot about Sophie Wilson."
"Grace, how about this? The contract hasn’t been signed yet. I’ll find you another crew, another opportunity. You’d better avoid encountering Sophie Wilson; I’m worried she’ll make things difficult for you."
"Let her make things difficult for me." Grace Wilson suddenly smirked strangely, "Ophelia, don’t you think this headline ’New Star in Entertainment Industry Seizes Family Assets and Abandons Biological Father’ is rather sensational?"
Ophelia Wilson was startled, seemingly not understanding the implication of Grace Wilson’s words.
"I hope Sophie Wilson becomes hugely popular, then... However she’s praised, I’ll make her equally condemned!" A deep-seated hatred appeared in Grace Wilson’s eyes as she spoke viciously through clenched teeth.
"Grace, won’t that ruin you?" Ophelia Wilson pleaded in reluctance, "Is it worth it?"
"Ophelia, it’s worth it! Sophie Wilson has already ruined me; I will not rest until one of us is destroyed!"
