Chapter 104: Chapter 104: Feeling Proud
Grace’s body stiffened. What did Brother Warren mean by that?
She quickly recalled in her mind if there were any other pieces of evidence left besides the IOU at the time.
But Brother Warren didn’t wait for Grace to figure it out, and directly took out a CD, turned on Stephen Wilson’s TV and DVD player, and started playing it.
The footage was very clear, and the person borrowing the money in the video was clearly unaware that their every move was being secretly recorded, brazenly making a deal with Brother Warren: "...Don’t worry, if she can’t repay the money, she can work it off for you. Don’t you have plenty of ways to let a woman work off her debt?"
The vicious laughter was clearly transmitted, sending chills down the spine.
The Wilson Clan’s maid looked at the usually gentle Grace in disbelief, never imagining that she was such a person.
Lily was also stunned, staring blankly at the TV screen.
"So that’s how I borrowed the money." Sophie Wilson realized.
"It’s fake, all of it is fake!" Lily suddenly rushed to the TV, yanking out the power cord.
The TV screen went black, and Grace’s ugly image completely disappeared from the screen.
"Sophie, how could you frame your sister! Are you even human?" Lily accused without thinking.
Sophie snorted, turning to look at Stephen Wilson, whose face was as dark as the bottom of a pot: "Dad, it looks like this is no longer my problem. I won’t disturb you any longer while you handle the debt dispute."
With that, Sophie gave Grace a deep look, turned around, and quickly walked away.
As for how they would resolve things in the villa, that was their business.
She jogged to where she had gotten off the car and saw the familiar vehicle, a smile spreading across her lips.
The oppressive feeling in her heart suddenly lifted—indeed, he was her cure.
The car door opened, and Charles Seymour got out, standing tall and upright like a bamboo, the fresh air blowing away the filth she’d accumulated at the Wilson Clan’s place.
Sophie jogged a couple of steps before leaping and landing on Charles.
Such force didn’t make Charles retreat even a bit, his body didn’t even sway as he securely held her.
"Finally, I can break away from them!" Sophie said happily, hugging Charles’ neck with a smile.
"Let’s talk inside," Charles directly stuffed Sophie into the car, his movements crisp yet gentle, without letting her get a single bump or scrape.
It’s so hot outside, what’s there to talk about?
The air conditioning in the car wasn’t set too low, avoiding a significant temperature difference between the interior and exterior, just right for the body.
Sophie sighed comfortably, grinning as she said, "Brother Warren really came through; he handled things decisively."
Throwing the video on without a second thought—very neat!
"Hmm." Charles nodded slightly, making no comment.
Yet his thick, sword-like eyebrows furrowed just a little with mild annoyance.
"You’re still the best," Sophie said, shaking Charles’ sleeve with a smile. "Stephen wouldn’t dare fall out with Brother Warren. If not for you, Brother Warren wouldn’t have cooperated like this."
Turning to see the light of admiration in Sophie’s eyes, Charles responded again: "Hmm."
As always, seemingly indifferent with no visible emotion, only the slightly raised end note hinted at his little proud thoughts.
He was quite pleased with himself.
