Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Yue Chen Tried To Kill Yue Ning (Unedited Chapter)

Yue Ning cleared her throat. She wasn’t ready for his mushy confession. Huo Yan, on the other hand, watched the show, her eyes glinting with excitement.

"But tell me, what happened here?" Huo Feng pressed. He knew that Yue Ning was not a rash person, but for her to tie up Yue Chen... there was definitely something strange about it.

Yue Ning turned to Yue Chen whose face was devoid of colour, and she started.

*Flashback*

After the reporters had dispersed from the Yue residence, Yue Chen rushed to her parents’ room. They didn’t even make an appearance, forcing her to be in the spotlight. Her heart felt stifled just by this thought.

Her parents confessed to the truth. But the knowledge of the truth did nothing to calm her heart. Instead, she only grew jealous.

How could Yue Ning be blessed to have such a good family while she suffered with a downrate family?

With these thoughts, she freshened up and drove to the Huo’s Ancestral mansion.

When she arrived, she was stopped by the servants who asked her who wanted to meet.

She flew into a rage all of a sudden, and the commotion attracted Yue Ning’s attention.

She stepped out, and her eyebrows raised when she saw Yue Chen arguing with the servants.

"What are you doing here?" Yue Ning asked with folded arms with Huo Yan standing behind.

Yue Chen looked at the proud expression on Yue Ning’s face, and she was tempted to wipe the proud look off her face.

"Let’s talk inside," Yue Chen spoke calmly, but if one looked closer, her entire body was shaking due to anger.

"And why should we listen to you. You are not a member of this family." Huo Yan spat out. It was obvious she despised Yue Chen.

Yue Chen glared at Huo Yan who returned the gaze.

Yue Ning was silent for a while, and Huo Yan feared that she would agree with her.

"Sister-in-law, don’t listen to her. I am afraid she’s here to cause trouble." Huo Yan whispered into her ears.

Yue Ning held her hands reassuringly. "You don’t have to worry about this matter. I can naturally deal with her."

Huo Yan sighed, and took a step back. Since her Sister-in-law had given her assurance, she could only sit back and watch Yue Chen make a fool of herself.

With an elegant smile on her lips, Yue Ning welcomed Yue Chen into the mansion.

Yue Chen looked around, and her mouth dropped in amazement. She clenched her palms into fists, as she took a deep breath to calm her fury.

The living room of the mansion was a quarter of her entire mansion, and it screamed elegance and wealth. Once again, her jealousy against Yue Ning reached its peak.

Without anyone telling her, she took a seat on one of the couches.

Huo Yan’s disdain was evident on her face as she clicked her tongue loudly.

Yue Ning sat opposite Yue Chen, her posture poised and reserved. She didn’t mind the disrespect shown by Yue Chen. Or rather, she didn’t care about it.

"Speak," she said lightly, "why exactly are you here?"

Yue Chen’s lips curled into a sneer. "What do I want? I want to know why you always get everything while..." her voice cracked, "...I am left with scraps to feed on."

Yue Ning arched a brow. "Jealousy does not suit you, Yue Chen. Whatever you think you deserve, you should blame your parents for it, not me. I am not the one responsible for your.... current situation"

"Shut up!" Yue Chen shot up to her feet, her face twisting with rage. "Don"t act so high and mighty in front of me. You think because you have the Lus behind you and Huo Feng at your side, you’re untouchable? You’re delusional!"

Huo Yan stood sharply, ready to lunge at her, but Yue Ning raised a hand to stop her.

"Then what do you plan to do?" Yue Ning asked, her voice calm but sharp like a blade.

Yue Chen smirked and slowly slipped her hand into her purse. The faint glint of metal peeked out—it was a knife.

Huo Yan gasped. "She’s crazy!"

The servants nearby froze, unsure whether to intervene.

But Yue Ning didn’t flinch. She leaned forward slightly, her eyes locking onto Yue Chen’s. "So this is what you came here for? To attack me in my own home?"

Yue Chen’s grip on the knife trembled. She didn’t care. She had lost all rationality.

"If I kill you... if I remove you... then everything will return to me. The Lus will never know. Huo Feng will see the truth—that I am the one who should stand beside him, not you!" She muttered hysterically to herself.

Yue Ning finally rose to her feet. Her posture was slow and deliberate. "Pathetic," she said coldly. "You came all this way just to expose yourself as a criminal."

Before Yue Chen could react, Yue Ning’s hand shot out, grabbing her wrist with surprising strength. The knife clattered to the floor, and in one smooth motion, Yue Ning twisted her arm behind her back. Yue Chen shrieked in horror.

Huo Yan quickly called for the servants, who rushed forward with ropes. Yue Ning didn’t hesitate. She ordered them to tie Yue Chen up.

Yue Chen struggled wildly, her hair a mess, her eyes wild with desperation.

"Let me go! I am the rightful daughter, not you! You stole my life!" she screamed, but the ropes bound her tight. Her words were stupid, and all the servants disdained her.

Finally, Yue Ning dusted her palms and looked down at her.

"You came here to ruin my peace," she said icily, echoing the words she would later repeat to Huo Feng. "But you will not succeed."

*FLASHBACK ENDS*

When Yue Ning was done narrating the incident, the aura surrounding Huo Feng had already gone down several degrees.

Slowly, he turned to Yue Chen who frantically shook her head.

Like a demon just let loose, Huo Feng calmly rose to his feet. He slowly walked towards Yue Chen who could sense the anger, and she swallowed.

"You tried to kill my wife?" He asked, and crouched to her level. "What makes you think you are above her?"

Yue Chen trembled. She knew she had made a mistake, but she didn’t dare admit it.

Huo Feng turned to Ah Si who was ready to receive his instructions.

"Take her away. You know what to do." He calmly ordered.

"Yes Boss," Ah Si acknowledged, and walked forward, picking Yue Chen roughly.

He dragged her out. Huo Feng watched coldly with folded arms. The only sound that remained was Yue Chen’s desperate cries for mercy while she struggled.
