Chapter 109: Huo Mingjie Visits Song Kai

Chapter 109: Chapter 109: Huo Mingjie Visits Song Kai

Song Yun ran to her, and in the presence of everyone, he gave her a big hug. Gasps rippled through the crowd—some in shock, some in envy, others already whispering behind their hands.

"I have missed you," he whispered into her ears.

Damien, who had just walked in, froze mid-step. His face remained calm, but his hand twitched toward his phone. "Young Master... hugging a girl? This must be reported," he muttered under his breath.

"Alright, that’s enough. At this rate, you will crush my chest." Huo Yan said in a muffled voice.

Song Yun hastily let go of her. "I am so sorry. I hope I didn’t hurt you." He checked her condition, and she shook her head helplessly.

Holding his hands, they walked into the university ignoring the gazes of the gossipy students.

"How can you miss me when we met each other two days ago?" Huo Yan asked, a serene smile on her face.

Song Yun chuckled. "Just a day isn’t enough. I want to spend my entire life." He confessed.

Once again, Damien who was walking behind him was stunned. He observed the girl who acted naturally with Song Yun and he realized that this was not the first time they would be meeting.

Huo Yan blushed at his words. All of a sudden , she stopped, her brows creasing. Song Yun frowned, wondering why she stopped suddenly.

Huo Yan snapped her head, her gaze meeting with Damien instantly. "Who are you?" She demanded coldly, her eyes narrowing.

Song Yun’s frown deepened. "Why are you still following me? Don’t you have something else to do?"

Huo Yan turned to look at him, her crease becoming deeper. "You know him?"

Song Yun reluctantly nodded. "He is my driver—Damien. My brother asked him to keep an eye on me. Although I refused, my brother is quite adamant. I can’t go against him even if I wished to."

There was a hint of complaint in Song Yun’s voice as they resumed their steps. Huo Yan had already let her guard down around Damien.

Huo Yan chuckled softly. "I can understand your complaints. It feels as if he is being controlling. I have a brother like that, but he is sweet and caring."

She stopped, and looked straight into his eyes. "I am sure your brother cares for you. Hence the reason for his actions, don’t be too bothered about his actions."

Song Yun shook his head with a bitter sniff. "No... my brother only cares about himself. Everything he does, it’s always for his own benefit."

Huo Yan felt his mood dampen. This was the first time she would witness such sadness in him.

"I think we have talked about your brother enough. Tell me... why did you decide to come to college? I thought you were not interested," Huo Yan held his hands and resumed in her steps, effortlessly changing the topic.

Song Yun understood what she did, but he didn’t complain. They chatted till they reached the registration office with Damien still walking behind them.

This trio attracted a lot of gazes, and due to the high profile face cards of both, they directly made it to the school’s trending stories.

Of course, they were both oblivious to these things.

---------------------

It has been three days since Yue Chen was thrown into Huo Feng’s cell. Unfortunately for her, Huo Feng seemed to have forgotten about her.

Ah Si walked into Huo Feng’s office, worry evident on his face.

"Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost? You are all sweaty?" Huo Feng questioned.

"Boss, the test results just came in. Yue Chen is really pregnant." He reported, wiping the sweat off his face.

"Oh..." Huo Feng drew out, clearly uninterested in this issue.

"Boss, she is still in our prison." Ah Si carefully reminded him. "Do we return her to Kang Beichen alongside the test results?" He asked.

Huo Feng pinched the space between his eyebrows. He seemed to have forgotten about this matter. He had been so preoccupied with a lot of things he actually forgot about Yue Chen.

His mind went straight to Yue Ning, and a smile appeared on his lips. On seeing this, Ah Si cleared his throat which broke Huo Feng out of his thoughts.

"Hmm, we can do that." He said coolly. "And also—specifically warn Kang Beichen to keep a tight watch on her. The next time she tries something silly, she won’t be returning with her body parts intact."

Ah Si shivered. As expected, Huo Feng was still the deadly and dangerous boss he knew.

"It will be done right away, boss." Ah Si said respectfully, and walked out of the office.

Due to the dire situation of the matter, Ah Si made sure to carry the task personally. He also took Han Jixuan with him.

About two to three hours later, an unconscious Yue Chen was dropped in front of the Kang’s residence with a folder on her body.

The servants alerted Kang Beichen who happened to be at home. He rushed out, and he was stunned seeing how dirty she looked.

He didn’t directly help her up, instead, he picked the folder, and read the contents. His eyes darkened instantly.

Suppressing the fury boiling in his chest, he flicked his hand at the maids. "Take her inside. Clean her up." He ordered.

He watched them take her into the mansion, his eyes clouding over while his grip tightened on the folder.

"Huo Feng..." He let out a low, humorless laugh. "I’ll admit, you’re clever."

While Kang Beichen was still thinking about the content of the folder, Huo Mingjie stealthily walked into Song Kai’s office led by his secretary.

Once he was in, Song Kai dismissed his secretary. He looked at Huo Mingjie who was all covered up, and he burst into laughter, although it wasn’t amusing.

"What are you wearing?" He asked after his laughter had ceased.

Huo Mingjie responded politely. "I have to be disguised. Who knows? Huo Feng could have one of his men watching me. I can’t risk that."

Song Kai nodded, and gestured for him to have his seat.

"Why are you here?" Song Kai interrogated after he (Huo Mingjie) had taken his seat.

"I bring you good news—one which you can use to bring Huo Feng down." Huo Mingjie said confidently.

Song Kai leaned forward, a playful smile curling his lips, though his eyes gleamed with danger. "I’m listening..."
