Chapter 7 The Top Hacker Turned Informer

Back in the room, Xing Yuan looked at Yu Yue, who was still asleep. She sat on the bed and gently traced the lines of her eyebrows. Yu Yue's face had a somewhat heroic quality, but Xing Yuan didn't care about her appearance. After all, no matter what her elder sister looked like, she was still her elder sister!

Yu Yue curled up slightly, slowly opened her eyes, and her consciousness gradually cleared. The moment Xing Yuan sensed her elder sister was waking up, she had already moved to the side.

"What time is it?" Yu Yue struggled to sit up.

Xing Yuan, acting as if she had just noticed her waking up, quickly walked over. "It's already eleven o'clock. Elder sister must be hungry! I brought some white porridge. The internet says it's good for the body when injured."

Feeling guilty, Xing Yuan dared not look up. She placed the food on a folding bed and was about to leave.

"Hiss!" Yu Yue accidentally pulled on her wound and gasped.

Seeing this, Xing Yuan hurried over. "Elder sister, how about I change your dressing first!"

"Okay!" Yu Yue did not refuse.

After Xing Yuan carefully changed the dressing, she noticed Yu Yue's arm seemed a bit inconvenient. She couldn't help but say, "Let me help you!"

"No need, I can manage." Yu Yue had been injured before, and had suffered far more serious wounds. She didn't feel that fragile.

Xing Yuan stubbornly sat by the bed, picked up a spoon, scooped some white porridge, and was about to feed her. Yu Yue shifted uncomfortably, shrinking back. "I'll do it myself."

"No, you're injured!" Xing Yuan said with no room for refusal.

The two of them remained in a stalemate for a while. In the end, Yu Yue relented, allowing Xing Yuan to feed her spoonful by spoonful, while she herself became an unfeeling eating machine.

After the meal, Xing Yuan put the bowls and chopsticks into her bag and handed them to Mercenary Number Five to deal with. She then stayed in the room to accompany the injured Yu Yue. Perhaps due to the significant blood loss, Yu Yue became very drowsy and fell asleep shortly after.

Xing Yuan frowned and immediately went online to expedite the purchase of some blood-replenishing medicinal herbs, food, and cooking utensils. They were expected to arrive that afternoon. The greatest advantage of the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group was its strict discipline. To protect the rights and interests of its members, they would regularly pick up goods from designated locations.

As soon as Xing Yuan put down her phone, Qiao's call came through. After the call was connected, the person on the other end remained silent for a long time. Xing Yuan asked doubtfully, "What's wrong?"

"Nothing, just routine. You know about our research institute being blown up yesterday, right?"

"No!" Xing Yuan replied decisively.

"Since, oh, alright! Then you know now. I heard last night you weren't cooperating with them, and someone came to complain to me first thing this morning. Of course, I trust you. However, those fellows from last night were quite clever. They killed two and captured one who was half-dead. We don't know the exact number. Use your professional skills and find the person for me."

"The research institute doesn't have any surveillance," Xing Yuan stated a fact.

"I know, but what if they slipped up somewhere else? Do your best! The Wild Wolf is very angry about this. I believe in your abilities."

After hanging up, Xing Yuan remained silent for a long time. Finally, a cold smile appeared at the corner of her lips. They believed her, so they were wary of her. But it didn't matter; she had already found the person she was looking for.

However, for her elder sister's safety, Xing Yuan found two deserving scapegoats within the base, individuals who were notorious for their crimes. She then edited the videos, leaving some ambiguous content, and set them to be released regularly, to be sent to Qiao the following evening. Her hacking skills were considered top-notch in this world, and she was confident that no one would see through it.

Xing Yuan stretched and decided to leave the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group as soon as possible. Although the members of the Blood Slaughter Mercenary Group had been protected by the Wild Wolf back then, she had secretly eliminated most of the ones she could find over the years. Now, she just needed to find an opportunity to leave here with her elder sister.

Tian Ling watched Xing Yuan's actions and said anxiously, "Master, you can't do this. You have to follow the plot."

"Don't worry, I will ensure this mercenary group meets its original fate, but I won't be a part of it! I just want to be with my elder sister," Xing Yuan said coldly.

"Master..." Tian Ling, the cute beast, whined.

Xing Yuan was completely immune. She casually blocked Tian Ling's perception of the outside world. She didn't need it for what came next. Xing Yuan was that decisive.

Afterward, Xing Yuan spent a period of peaceful time with Yu Yue. Soon, Yu Yue's injuries healed, and she bid farewell to Xing Yuan. "Thank you for taking care of me during this time. However, I have some matters to attend to, so I need to leave for a while. I will come back to find you once I've handled them."

Xing Yuan did not believe Yu Yue's nonsense at all. She had said the same thing before, and what was the result? She never returned! So this time, no matter what she said, she would not let Yu Yue out of her sight again.

"What are you going to do? I can go with you. You're not allowed to leave me behind again." Xing Yuan's eyes reddened as she remembered the past.

This was seen by Yu Yue as Xing Yuan being reluctant to part with her. Yu Yue gently comforted her, "Trust me! Besides, this matter is very dangerous!"

Xing Yuan became even more worried. "I'm very capable, you see. I'm a master hacker. I can see everywhere there are cameras. Don't leave me!" Xing Yuan showed Yu Yue the surveillance footage on her computer.

Yu Yue was greatly surprised. She hadn't expected this sister she had only recently recognized to be a hacker. She immediately thought of her earlier statement about working here. In this world, hackers held a high status.

Yu Yue's expression became complicated. The surprise of her seemingly innocent and harmless sister suddenly turning out to be a highly skilled technician.

"Can you do me a favor? I need to use your computer," Yu Yue asked tentatively.

"Okay!" Xing Yuan nodded without hesitation.

Yu Yue fiddled with the computer for a while, trying to contact headquarters. However, the computer displayed "no signal." Yu Yue looked back at Xing Yuan. Xing Yuan stepped forward a couple of steps, made a few adjustments on the computer, and the signal was instantly restored.

"There!" Xing Yuan said innocently.

Yu Yue looked at Xing Yuan's innocent and naive appearance and, for some reason, felt a surge of annoyance. However, she quickly suppressed it. After sending the message to headquarters, she quickly took several photos of the computer.

Xing Yuan looked at Yu Yue's actions with a hint of confusion, but Yu Yue soon provided an explanation.

"I've taken pictures now. You're in this with me. So, if you report me, I'll hand over the photos," Yu Yue threatened fiercely.

Xing Yuan's expression remained unchanged. She simply looked at Yu Yue with doting affection. Although she felt a little disappointed that her elder sister didn't trust her, she could understand. After all, Yu Yue had no memory of the past. If Yu Yue were to completely trust someone she had only recently met, Xing Yuan would be the one to get angry.
