Chapter 12 The Subverted Top Hacker

Xing Yuan asked calmly, "When do we leave?"

"Wait for the others. In an hour, whether they make it or not, we depart!" Qiao explained.

"My people are injured! I think I have the right to know how we are going to escape this heavily surrounded place!"

Xing Yuan's calm tone ignited the already agitated Hu Ya's anger. "Hey, what do you want? You're just a hacker, don't forget who's in charge here!" Hu Ya said, intending to teach this oblivious fellow a lesson.

Xing Yuan did not hesitate to engage him in a fight. She had endured enough over the years in the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group and did not want to endure any longer.

Qiao looked at Xing Yuan's combat skills, which were no less than Hu Ya's, with surprise. This was the first time he had seen A Yuan fight someone. However, he quickly regained his composure. After taking a punch from both Hu Ya and Xing Yuan, he finally managed to persuade them to stop fighting.

"What time is it? We're still fighting amongst ourselves! A Yuan, you'll know how we're leaving later. For now, quickly research the safest route for those people and have them gather in the main room as soon as possible."

"Hu Ya, it's not the time for fighting either. Even if we can't protect this place, we should take more people back. That way, Wild Wolf might go easy on you when he sees it." Qiao's words plunged both of them into silence, and they began to worry about finding a reasonable explanation.

Hu Ya was concerned because he was the leader of this team, while Xing Yuan was responsible for monitoring the entire base. Regardless, those who returned alive would inevitably be held accountable.

Qiao breathed a sigh of relief as he saw that both of them had grasped the situation. He continued to order his subordinates to hold off the enemy while notifying others to speed up. Soon, an hour passed, and Qiao immediately instructed his subordinates to begin their withdrawal through the secret passage, leading the assembled group in the main room to the basement.

At this time, Yu Yue had also reunited with her comrades and was heading towards the main room. There were only a few places in this base that she had not been able to scout, and the main room was one of them. They split into several groups to investigate those locations, and Yu Yue was assigned the main room.

Qiao turned on the lights in the basement, and before everyone's eyes appeared more than a dozen aircraft, including helicopters and fighter jets. Qiao did not hesitate to tell everyone to board the planes as quickly as possible, and he was the first to enter a fighter jet.

Without much thought, everyone hurriedly boarded the planes. Qiao then opened the exit to the basement, revealing an airfield. Aircraft after aircraft took to the sky without hesitation.

When Yu Yue and her group arrived, they only managed to see the last plane taking off. Just as Yu Yue was about to open fire, she had a fleeting glimpse of A Yuan's figure. It was in that moment of hesitation that, when her comrades fired again, the plane had already rapidly ascended and departed.

The Z-country military had long been aware of the possibility of them escaping by plane and had naturally dispatched many fighter jets to intercept them. However, they had not expected them to have so many!

As soon as the planes took off, they separated and headed in different directions. Flying without a flight plan was quite dangerous, but the pilots chosen were the best of the best. Even with the best design, accidents could still happen. By the time they broke free from pursuit and regrouped, only ten planes remained. The others had been forced to land or were shot down by the Z-country military.

However, those who had narrowly escaped did not feel much joy. Instead, they were chilled to the bone. They knew very well what kind of person Wild Wolf was. Losing the Yicheng base, which had cost a large sum of money to build, was already a grave offense. Now, only these few had escaped. Even if they survived, they would lose half their lives.

But as soon as anyone showed signs of wanting to escape, Hu Ya unhesitatingly killed them. Those who could return to the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group in this manner basically had their weaknesses held at the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group's headquarters, so they had no choice but to return.

After Hu Ya's demonstration, the others dared not voice any objections and returned to the Wild Wolf Mercenary Group with their hearts in their mouths. As they had expected, Wild Wolf was furious and killed more than a dozen people on the spot to vent his anger. All the costs they had incurred had yielded nothing!

Apart from the injured, the other leaders received varying degrees of punishment. Hu Ya even had a leg broken by the enraged Wild Wolf. If Hu Ya had not been loyal to Wild Wolf for many years, and if Wild Wolf had not been concerned about alienating his other brothers, it would have been his life, not just a leg.

Xing Yuan was also subjected to his wrath. However, Wild Wolf still had some favor towards her, who was loyal to him due to a certain incident. Her profession also meant that he could not be too harsh. Thus, Xing Yuan's punishment was to be locked in a small dark room for a day and a night.

This small dark room was not like the ones we live in. Once the door was closed, there was no light, and the space was so narrow that only two people could stand side by side. From the outside, it looked like a square box.

Xing Yuan was not afraid of this. She had lived in darkness all her life. She only regretted that she would have to go hungry for a day!

Ever since Yu Yue had vaguely seen Xing Yuan's figure, she had been restless. Had A Yuan been taken away by them? Especially after searching Yicheng for a long time and finding no trace of A Yuan, this worry reached its peak.

When Yu Yue heard that a helicopter had been forced down, she immediately rushed over. Most of the people forced down were dressed in white, indicating they were doctors or researchers. They were now obediently allowing themselves to be handcuffed by the Z-country military personnel.

Yu Yue looked around but did not find Xing Yuan. She was unsure whether her heart felt more relieved or worried.

"A Yue, what's wrong with you today? You've been so restless?" Yuan Yihan looked at her friend, who had become strangely peculiar, with confusion.

Yu Yue, hearing Yuan Yihan's words, forced herself to snap back to attention. "It's nothing. It's just that a good friend of mine and I had arranged to meet, but I can't find her."

"Then have you checked if she left you any messages? Maybe something unexpected came up!" Yuan Yihan felt that her friend was not acting normally.

"Right! A Yuan is so smart, she would definitely leave me a message if she left," Yu Yue murmured to herself.

She carefully recalled A Yuan's recent unusual behavior and finally remembered that a few days ago, A Yuan had inexplicably given her a necklace. However, Yu Yue, being inconvenient to move around, had put it away. Yu Yue quickly drove back to the small courtyard.

Fortunately, the small courtyard was in a secluded location and had not been significantly affected. Yu Yue entered smoothly and found the necklace. This was also the first time A Yuan had seriously given her a gift.
