Not long after, Ran Xia rushed over.
Her face was filled with concern as she looked at Yu Wennian, wanting to help him up but afraid of touching his wounds.
"Help me up quickly and take me to the hospital!" Yu Wennian was furious and disappointed, his usual gentle and refined demeanor completely gone.
His face was already bruised like a pig's head, and now he was bossily ordering Ran Xia. This significantly diminished Ran Xia's idealized image of her crush. However, he was still the person she had liked for so many years. As a weak woman unable to lift him, Ran Xia picked up her phone and called an ambulance.
"Was it her who hit you?" Ran Xia pointed at the villa behind them.
"Yes, who else could it be? She somehow found out about our relationship and then wanted to break up with me, beating me up in the process." Although it was embarrassing, Yu Wennian knew he couldn't hide this from Ran Xia. He decided to be upfront, hoping to salvage some dignity.
Ran Xia secretly rejoiced, but outwardly expressed concern, "She just doesn't know how to care for you, brother. You've been together for a few months, how could she be so rough with you?"
Yu Wennian strongly agreed with her words, but a look of heartbreak appeared on his face. While his injuries made the expression somewhat grim, there was someone willing to play along!
Ran Xia gazed at Yu Wennian with sincere eyes, her voice full of affection:
"Brother Yu, although I know you've always treated me like a sister, I've fallen for you. Now that you're single, can you give Xia Xia a chance to take care of you?"
In Ran Xia's opinion, although Yu Wennian wasn't wealthy, he was handsome. If others knew her boyfriend was the campus heartthrob, they would surely envy her.
"Xia Xia, you're so wonderful, I'm not worthy of you. I've been hiding the person I truly love deep down, because in my heart, you are so beautiful. Perhaps we can try." Yu Wennian flattered her insincerely and readily agreed.
He was a child who had come from the mountains. Although Ran Xia's family background couldn't compare to Xing Yuan's, nor was she as easily controlled, she was indeed the best candidate he could find at this stage.
They both put on a show, believing they had moved each other, but in reality, it was just a scheme.
Xing Yuan poured herself a glass of juice and leisurely sat by the window, watching the commotion below. She stayed until the ambulance took them away.
These two were so well-matched; they should be together forever, preventing them from harming others. Xing Yuan sat at the table and waited for a while. Calculating that they had likely arrived at the hospital, her phone rang as expected.
"Hello~" Xing Yuan's voice was laced with languor.
The person on the other end, Yu Jie, paused before speaking, "I heard you broke up with Yu Wennian and beat him up?"
Yu Jie was Ran Xia's suitor. He was responsible as both a subordinate and a devoted follower, but his only problem was his inability to find a balance between the two, unable to rationally judge who was more important.
"What, did Ran Xia come crying to you again?" Xing Yuan's tone was knowing.
"Yes, boss knows. I never know how to refuse her, and I'm genuinely curious why you suddenly broke up with Yu Wennian." Wasn't she showing a lot of interest in him before?
Yu Jie had been Xing Yuan's subordinate for three years, and they could be considered friends. He understood this boss, who appeared formidable to outsiders, very well. Therefore, he was even more certain that Yu Wennian must have been at fault.
"That's my private matter, I don't think I need to report it to you!" Xing Yuan said indifferently.
"However, if you're really interested, I can send you a clip recorded by the camera in front of my house. As a friend, my advice is: seriously consider your relationship with her!"
Xing Yuan hung up and sent the video.
The camera at their house had a recording function. What they said and did was clear in the video.
Xing Yuan wanted to prevent Yu Jie from deceiving himself. He wasn't blameless in past events, but because he was misled by others, his punishment could be lenient.
If, after learning about Ran Xia's true nature, he still firmly chose his beloved, then Xing Yuan could only apologize. She didn't need a subordinate who might stab her in the back at any moment.
After a long silence, Yu Jie suddenly said, "I'm sorry! I won't bother you, boss, until I've sorted these things out."
Yu Jie was well aware of his personality flaws, but he was too easily swayed by those he cared about. Ran Xia was his first love. They broke up due to his own reasons, and he had felt guilty about it for years, thus he indulged her every whim.
Even now, he couldn't completely decide to cut ties with Ran Xia. So, to avoid hurting anyone, the best course of action was for him to calm down for a while.
"Mm, do as you see fit!" Xing Yuan, knowing his answer, hung up the phone decisively.
A good night's sleep!
Having short hair had its advantages; at least it didn't require much time to style.
Xing Yuan made a phone call, ordered several breakfast items for delivery, and then went out to buy a light blue, unisex outfit. She also purchased a few more shirts online that were easy to move in and not overly feminine.
Given her current appearance, it was indeed inappropriate to dress too femininely.
Xing Yuan arrived early, but someone had arrived even earlier.
When she got to the classroom, Yan Xiyue was already sitting at her desk, reviewing her studies.
Xing Yuan's eyes instantly lit up with a smile. She placed the breakfast she bought directly on Yan Xiyue's desk, "This is for my deskmate. I don't know what you like, so I bought a variety."
Yan Xiyue looked up, a hint of confusion in her eyes. She gently shook her head and pushed the items back to Xing Yuan's desk, "No, thank you. I've already eaten."
"Even if you've eaten, have a little more! You're so thin. Besides, this is the first time I've brought breakfast for someone. Please cooperate, deskmate, and give me some face!" Xing Yuan said with a grin as she sat down.
"Alright then!" Yan Xiyue hesitated for a moment, then took a bun from her bag, "I'll just have this one."
"Okay!" Xing Yuan didn't mind. She kept her portion and tossed the rest to Zhang Che, who was sitting in the back row, "If you can't finish it, it's yours. You can share it with others too."
Xing Yuan's tone was casual, but Zhang Che was startled. He quickly stood up, nodded in agreement, and inwardly cursed his bad luck, wishing he had arrived later today.
