Chapter 41: Julian Was Caught By Gangsters
After a 15-minute break, the six of them returned to class. When they arrived, they didn’t find the teacher teaching—instead, the teacher was just giving them an assignment. The five of them entered the classroom, and as usual, they all went to the back row to hang out, except for Wiro. Wiro approached the class president, who was writing the last question on the board.
"Leaderr~!" Wiro called.
Silica stopped writing on the board and greeted Wiro back.
"Ah, Wiro! Where have you been?" Silica asked.
"We were told to move a broken table and chair to the storage room" Wiro replied.
"Oh, I see, okay!" Silica said with a faint smile.
"Leader, I wanted to ask, why did Julian come home early?" Wiro asked.
"Because Julian’s left arm was injured. He said he hit a nail while he was passing by someone moving the table, and the nail hit his left arm" Silica replied.
"A nail?" Wiro asked with a confused expression.
Silica nodded. After that, Wiro changed his demeanor, now acting as if he were thinking about something.
"Hmm, I feel like it was just the six of us who moved the desks," Wiro said quietly, but Silica could clearly hear him.
"Well, it happened before break, so who knows, maybe the desks you guys moved were leftovers from the ones the school staff had already moved" Silica said, thinking positively.
"Yeah, maybe, ahahaha," Wiro said with a chuckle.
"Okay, I’ll hang out in the back with the others" Wiro continued with a smile.
"Okay" Silica replied with a smile.
After that, Wiro walked to the back row, and Silica returned to writing on the board. But when they both returned to their activities, they stared intently at the front, thinking that something was wrong with Julian.
Meanwhile, In class 11-D, Anindya returned safely because the teacher had just arrived, so when Anindya was questioned, she still managed to give a reasonable excuse. The lesson continued quietly, while Anindya continued to think about Silica’s flirtatious behavior with Julian. Sagara glanced at Anindya, who wore an annoyed expression, feeling slightly suspicious of her behavior.
Meanwhile, on Julian’s side, at 10:50, Kartini XIII Dalam St.
Julian was in a small alleyway on the street, cornered by 50 thugs carrying various types of blunt weapons.
"W-What’s going on...?!" Julian thought to himself, smiling awkwardly as he stared at the thugs and sipped his iced tea.
A few minutes earlier, 10:47.
Julian was buying Iced Tea Solo near Ekonomi St.
"Thank you, ma’am!" Julian said, taking the iced tea and handing the cash to the seller.
"You’re welcome!" the seller replied politely and friendly.
Before he could take a sip, two unfamiliar adults approached from behind and began wrapping their arms around Julian’s neck.
"Yoo~... isn’t this Jamet?... Long time no see!" said the person holding Julian’s left neck, in a tone that feigned familiarity, his breath reeking of cheap cigarettes.
"If you scream, your life will be at stake!" whispered the person holding the right side of Julian’s neck, his voice hoarse and threatening.
Julian glanced at the person on his right, then suddenly made a gesture by glancing down. Julian glanced down, his eyes widening as he saw the tip of a small knife under the person’s jacket, ready to stab from below. Julian immediately swallowed and nodded.
"Good!, now follow us!" whispered the person holding the right side of Julian’s neck.
Julian nodded his head. Then they turned around and headed towards Kartini XIII Dalam St. The movement seemed normal to other pedestrians, as if they were old friends joking and talking.
Back to the present, Small Alley, Kartini XIII Dalam St.
The alley wasn’t too narrow and long enough to fit about 35 people, while the rest waited outside to prevent anyone from approaching. Furthermore, the street was deserted in 2080, and many of the shophouses had been closed after the major demonstrations in 2049.
Julian stared at the thugs. They looked like predators who wouldn’t let their prey go. The thugs stood close together, wearing white hoodies with the Bulldog logo. Their faces were covered in old wounds, and their mouths reeked of alcohol and cheap cigarettes. They looked like predators who wouldn’t let go of their prey.
Julian sighed softly, then thought to himself,
"Looks like they’re gangsters, huh?..." Julian thought to himself with a flat expression as he sipped his iced tea.
One of the thugs approached his boss and asked,
"Boss, is that really him?" one of the thugs whispered to his friend.
The boss in question was named Luya. He was 176 cm tall, muscular, with brown skin, and short green hair. Luya didn’t answer, but instead approached Julian. Once he was close, he asked,
"OI! Is this really you?" Luya asked, holding up a photo showing half of Julian’s body.
Julian bent down slightly and began to squint, examining the photo intently. After examining the photo, he thought to himself,
"T-this is bad, even though it’s blurry, but that’s really my face..." Julian thought to himself with a blank expression.
"Why are you so quiet?!" Luya asked in a deep voice and a sarcastic look.
"HURRY UP, ANSWER!" shouted another thug angrily.
"RIGHT, HURRY UP, ANSWER!" shouted all the thugs behind Luya.
The shouting continued, irritating Luya. He turned around and shouted.
"YOU BASTARDS, SHUT UP FOR A MOMENT!!!" Luya shouted to his friends behind him.
Instantly, all the thugs quieted down, Julian straightened up, and Luya turned back to Julian.
"Hurry up, answer!" Luya said in a deep voice.
"N-no! T-that... that’s not me!" Julian quickly answered, panicking.
Luya immediately brought his face closer to Julian’s and said,
"Really?!" Luya asked in a deep voice and a sharp gaze.
Julian nodded his head quickly.
"UGH!... His breath smells of cigarettes and alcohol!" Julian thought to himself with a wry expression.
Luya looked back at his phone and said
"But... the style and color of his hair are the same as yours... even his posture" Luya said, looking back and forth between Julian’s face in the photo and the real one.
Julian started to panic, then he replied
"I-it’s impossible... it could be the same person as me..." Julian replied nervously.
"B-Besides, we humans have twins who aren’t related by blood, scattered all over the world..." Julian continued, smiling nervously and holding up his right index finger next to his cheek.
Luya stared suspiciously at Julian’s face for a few minutes. Then, after a moment, he smiled and said
"You’re right!" Luya said.
Luya stepped back and continued.
"I might also have a twin in South Korea, hahahahaha" Luya said, laughing loudly.
Julian laughed along. After he finished laughing, Luya said to Julian.
"I’m sorry for bothering you" Luya said kindly.
Luya then turned and said to his friends.
"Come on, let’s all continue the search" Luya said to his gangs.
Some were complaining about being tired, while others were still enthusiastic. Julian, seeing them disperse, lowered his head and breathed a sigh of relief.
