Chapter 1156 Odin Returns

Chapter 1 The Good Place

The good place Hao Ren had in mind wasn't Errym-Dodostar, which had already been designated a "Hao Real Estate Gold Standard Community." Though Dodostar still had ample space to accommodate the Nine Kingdoms, he felt it wasn't wise to house too many alien civilizations on a single planet, as it could lead to long-term problems. So, he decided to settle the Twilight civilization in a place that had only recently been added to the development schedule:

The Rift Nebula.

Many people had probably forgotten what the Rift Nebula was—in fact, if he hadn't recently started preparing to build a new Dream Plane Gate, even Hao Ren himself would have almost forgotten this famous spectacle of the mortal realm. The Rift Nebula was located deep in the universe, the remnants of an ancient star system torn apart by the Wall of Reality. Many years ago, the Wall of Reality suffered a massive collapse, and the mortal realm and the Dream Plane experienced a cataclysmic fusion impact. Numerous celestial bodies were affected, and the Rift Nebula was one of them: the annihilation effect produced by the collision of the two worlds destroyed most of the celestial bodies there, leaving a huge spatial instability rift in space, as well as a magnificent nebula orbiting the rift. Raven 12345 had once taken Hao Ren there to witness firsthand the terrifying consequences of the Wall of Reality's collapse, and Hao Ren was deeply impressed at the time.

Now, the Rift Nebula wasn't completely devoid of life. A new exiled race was building a new home there, and that newly settled planet was the home Hao Ren had arranged for the Twilight civilization: Purgatory Star.

Although that planet had completely shed its former terrifying appearance and become a vibrant new world, the name "Purgatory Star" was still registered as its official name. The main reason for keeping this name was that Hao Ren was too lazy to remember a new name...

The current inhabitants of Purgatory Star were a group of ancient survivors known as the "Children of the Sun."

These ancient survivors were still in the early stages of civilization reconstruction. They had little concept of the world beyond the grasslands where they had lived for generations. The Twilight survivors of the Nine Kingdoms faced the same problem: they didn't know how big a planet could be. For them, their home was only the original Twilight Capital, and they were wary of the new wilderness outside the city.

This made it more feasible for the two civilizations to coexist on one planet: besides both obeying Hao Ren's orders, the biggest advantage was that they didn't know how big the world was. Hao Ren could let these two groups live in different parts of Purgatory Star to safely get through the early period of potential conflict.

Of course, it was hard to say what kind of collision these two civilizations would have in the future. As an inspector, Hao Ren could only try his best to arrange a good future for them.

After hearing Hao Ren's introduction, Galazriel and Anthony were quite interested in this planet called "Purgatory." Anthony, being an academic fanatic, first fully expressed his envy and jealousy of Hao Ren for always encountering so many strange "observation objects." Then, stroking his beard, he asked, "The situation on the new planet is good, but the Twilight survivors will probably need a long time to adapt. That planet doesn't seem entirely suitable for humans to live on, does it?"

"The atmospheric composition has some problems, and the threat of alien diseases is great," Hao Ren nodded. "But these problems aren't big: Yggdrasil is a powerful First Born, and there's also a First Born in a zombie state on Purgatory Star under my control. Both ecological guardians are here, so it won't be a problem to create an environmental buffer mechanism together."

Galazriel also asked a question: "The Rift Nebula is located in the area of the Wall of Reality's great rift. The inner layer of the nebula is a 'singularity' between the mortal realm and the Dream Plane. Things from the mortal realm will inevitably be affected after passing through. Have you considered this influence?"

"It's precisely because I've considered this," Hao Ren explained with a smile, "that I just had the data terminal check Yggdrasil's information characteristics. I found that he still retains a considerable degree of information belonging to the Dream Plane after crossing the Wall of Reality. This is probably because he bears the heavy responsibility of a species ark, and needs to retain the Dream Plane's law environment in his 'body' when transporting the fire to the mortal realm. In short, Yggdrasil himself is a creature between the mortal realm and the Dream Plane, a huge information entanglement point. Sending him to the Rift Nebula is better than letting him drift around in the mortal realm. And the Twilight survivors living on Yggdrasil's 'body' have also undergone this change to some extent, so there's no danger in letting them live in the Rift Nebula."

"Then there's no problem," Anthony nodded slightly, stroking his beard. "If you need help, just ask."

Galazriel also patted her chest: "Me too, ask for help anytime. It just so happens that our young dragons are about to have their final exams. Adding five points to their papers can be exchanged for hundreds or thousands of laborers..."

Hao Ren nodded while wiping away cold sweat: "Thank you, thank you, I appreciate your concern..."

Twenty kilometers away from Twilight Capital (now it should be called Twilight Capital Ruins), there was a flat and resource-rich wilderness. On this uniquely endowed place for settlement, the newly settled Twilight survivors were busy preparing their new home.

The first batch of immigrants had already arrived at their destination, but the last teams were still on their way. The continuous influx of "new citizens" kept the Steam Council and the Twilight Guard, who were responsible for command and dispatch, extremely busy. After completing the most critical distribution of food and water supplies and medical security, they decided to first use the standardized materials they brought to solve the housing problem for so many people.

Amid the roar of various heavy machinery and the commotion of the dragon children, large shantytowns in the new settlement were rapidly taking shape at a speed visible to the naked eye. Construction teams shouting slogans and transport vehicles emitting large amounts of steam could be seen everywhere on the plains, and mixed among the humans was a group of curious and energetic dragons. After completing the transportation tasks assigned to them, these dragons became as unrestrained as Lily after being let off the leash. Although they looked mighty, they were, after all, a group of young dragons, and after the work was done, all that was left was playing. And they played in a pretty advanced way:

Playing house.

Even without magical assistance, a dragon could easily carry steel materials weighing hundreds of tons. As a result, dragons carrying huge steel beams, cement boards, and stones could be seen running around everywhere on the plains. Some dragons who looked smarter (or were top students in their class) squatted nearby, staring at the blueprints for human house construction with their huge eyes, studying them while directing the mediocre students to move bricks in front. The entire construction site was very coordinated, efficient, and orderly, fully demonstrating the truth that knowledge is power...

As for the humans of Twilight Capital, they were no longer afraid of these immensely powerful behemoths, especially after they saw some dragons actually running into the forest and chewing on a mouthful of leaves...

"Dragons are basically carnivores," Galazriel saw this scene when she came with Hao Ren and his group to inspect the situation in the wilderness. The Dragon Queen's expression was very subtle. "Um... but sometimes eating too much meat can cause internal heat, so they chew on some leaves to clear their intestines..."

Lily nodded in agreement after hearing this: "Oh, oh, me too!"

In a busy wilderness, there was a place that remained quiet: a small hill located in the center of the wilderness.

Black-robed caretakers guarded the hill, and soldiers of the Twilight Guard guarded the entrances and exits around the hill. The only building on the hill was a black iron hut that had been moved here as a whole. In front of the hut, Hao Ren saw Odin, who had been freed from the Iron Throne.

This weakened "King of Gods" still had a long way to go to recover his health.

Odin was still a gaunt old man, so weak that he seemed like a gust of wind could blow him over. He wore a thick gray cloth robe to resist the cold wind, and his messy white hair danced wildly in the wind, showing no trace of the majesty of the former Lord of Golden Palace.

But compared to when he was on the Iron Throne, this situation was much better.

Odin stood on the high ground, looking out at the busy construction site. After seeing Hao Ren and his group, he simply nodded slightly: "I heard the sound. Twilight Capital should be gone, right?"

Hao Ren nodded: "It has completed its historical mission."

Odin was silent for a few seconds, then exhaled: "The people are still here, so everything can start again. What are your plans next?"

"The Nine Kingdoms can't continue to drift in the universe, but they can't return to Earth either," Hao Ren explained the current situation. "I've found a good place for it. I have a planet under my name where you can live. But before that, there's a place I hope you can go with us."

Odin was naturally surprised by Hao Ren's statement that he "had a planet under his name," but he didn't show it, simply asking casually: "Where to?"

"Asgard's Ysarden," Hao Ren replied. "A loyal Valkyrie is still guarding there. Go see her."
